On a stone road surrounded by trees, the fog covers the entire road hiding everything around.
The sound of the creaking of the wooden wheels, of each carriage slowly approaching, the hooves of the horses were another song of their arrival.
Horns, bats and owls were seen in many of the branches each watching each of the carriages.
Each carriage was different, some humble, some ordinary, some luxurious and some very luxurious. On the door each one with the family coat of arms or of the territory they come from, which is the same in any case.
The commoners in a humble carriage, some who had the good fortune to meet the progeny of the lords of their territory share the carriage. Some others befriended other nobles and were picked up by them, others stayed with their group.
The only ones who could not ride in another noble's carriage were of course the nobles themselves, they represent their territory, they represent their people and their ancestors. So with the utmost honor and pride each noble was in his carriage, some alone and others more fortunate accompanied.
Even by pets...
Some magical, like a Firebird.
Others common as a cat or a dog.
Some more exotic like a human.
Valey's carriage was almost 30 minutes away from the academy, the delay was due to the line of carriages. Not only they were also arriving young vampires from 13 to 18 years old.
They were returning after spending the vacations with their parents.
So there were many carriages in line...
Valery had the indifferent Victor in her lap, he was lying there indifferently asleep without resistance and with different and better quality clothes than when she brought him from the market. Valery was combing his hair with a big smile, she had no difficulty in bringing him in, he was very submissive and did whatever she asked him to do.
The only sign that he resisted was when she tried to bite him.
She realized that maybe it was because he was afraid of vampires and death, many vampires when they caught humans they fed directly. In war there was no rest the faster you recovered the faster you could continue fighting.
This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
In a fight with a vampire a human can not beat him in strength, in speed, in vitality, in no aspect a human can beat a vampire. But vampires can be hurt, any silver bullet can pierce a vampire's heart.
"It's a pity... you are so beautiful, but those empty eyes lacking light are a chain to your beauty" Valery whispered in his ears. Her sigh was cold, leaving a small mist created by the same coldness.

In the distance at the end of that great line of noble and commoner carriages.
A great gothic castle, built hundreds of years ago, thousands of years ago, human beings were inspired by this strange and dark place to build their first castles.
Several lights were seen in each window, many older vampires looked at the newcomers and others looked at the old students.
"So this year has finally arrived..."
"It's going to be trouble."
"A lot of students..."
"There must be about 240 students and 200 are just students for the 100 year academy."
"They are truly a generation blessed by the moon goddess..."
"Tsk! You and your fanaticism!"
Many older vampires were talking among themselves, all the vampires in this institution were over 1000 years old and the oldest was over 8000.
The oldest was of course the director, an Archduke who runs this academy. A vampire respected by many, but hidden and netural even after the war he gave no opinion or boycott, he only kept the academy which has always been hidden from humans.
A place that has been hidden under the fog for years.
The old and wrinkled man, his hair was a strange shade of white, it was not a cold white like valery's, nor a white like bone color, it was a white that reflected the light and could turn color.
"It's time, it's starting... again when will you get tired?"
The older man with the strange colored hair looked with his opaque eyes like a blind man as he looked at each and every one of the carriages.
The man closed his eyes, his eyelids quivering in his effort to close them. Then he returned to sit back in his chair, each movement a slight creak of his bones sounding in his room.
An old vampire, he seems frail but he is dangerous enough to fear. There is no vampire of his kind, there isn't and there never will be.
He is someone who has seen the passing of time since the beginning, he cannot call himself the first vampire but he is not far from being one of the vampires.
"... last words" The old vampire whispered before leaning back in his chair and watching the passing of time as he has always done.

Valery arrived at the designated area and got out of his carriage next to the human he brought, which attracted several curious glances from his acquaintances.
From the younger ones she received only a deprecatory glance, but they would never mess with a 100 year old vampire. It would be the same as throwing themselves directly into a bonfire they could never get out of.
In the academy, from the moment of entry, their authoritative status was lost.
Men would be called "Sir".
Girls would be called "Lady".
It is the formal way to refer to their status, if they are called baroness or duke, they would intintivametne have that separation. Making their union and relationship difficult.
Valery went directly with many of his classmates.
In her generation there are in total 8 groups of 25 students. They are the first generation to have all the teachers have to give classes.
Many times or rather most of the time the teachers were not available, only 6 teachers taught before they were exchanged, there are a lot of teachers in the academy. Not all of them teach and some of them you may never see or know.
She approached her group and greeted everyone silently with a wave of the hand, most received the gesture with pleasure, some were a little indifferent, like Stella.
Others were emotional, like Katerin.
Luckily in her class there is no one in her class who dislikes her, perhaps some are very indifferent to her. Most of the vampires who dislike Valery are in another class.
But none of them made any noise.
Even their footsteps were silent, all of them over 100 years old, the 18 and 17 year olds were very quiet.
At that moment a beep sounded in the ears of all those who spoke and whispered. From 13 to 16 years old vampires were punished, their ears resounded and even bled at this whistle.
"At the entrance of the academy you must show respect to this sacred place, where you are stepping even your own parents, your parents' parents, your ancestors and many more."
Those who did not receive punishment had a big smile at this place, it was a small tradition. A bit painful but quite important.
It's a way of showing that no matter who you are, the academy will be tough with its punishments. That your being here doesn't exist...
Besides of course saying that this is a sacred place blah blah blah ...
