Leaving the small mansion.
Valery looked at the sky illuminated by the sunlight, but it was not the same light known to humans. This light was blocked by a deep white fog that barely allowed the sunlight to reach the ground.
The mist was formed by a blessing from the Moon Goddess to the vampires when the war started, so every country, continent or any conquered fragment of the earth was blessed by this fog that allows every vampire to step on the earth without worrying about the harmful sunlight.
"Thank the Goddess" Valery whispered with a hand on her chest. Like any young vampire who has seen these miracles her faith towards the goddess of the moon.
As he said that sentence at the front of the carriage the older man, Frank the coachman. He looked at her with a pitiful look, as if her remark was more something to be regretted than to be rejoiced over.
"Good morning, Frank."
Frank raised his wrinkled hand and took his hat and placed it on his chest, bowing to her.
"Good morning, my lady."
Valery smiled kindly and entered the carriage.
Adelaide looked at Frank and nodded her head before saying the destination.
"To the market Frank."
"I would be honored," he replied with a big smile. He took the reins and waited for Adelaide to get into the carriage before starting the ride. With his extensive experience doing this his trip to the market went smoothly and quietly.
Even with the thick fog curling both sky and ground, thanks to the sharp eyes of the vampires they could see well enough in the deep fog. About 10 meters at most, but it was enough to admire the scenery.
In the cities or towns, the fog would dip down as if to allow the city to be seen in the best possible way without obstructing the view. Valery's home is up the mountain from the nearest town.
So after a few minutes of descending the fog begins to lift allowing the entire town to be seen from above.
"How have the constructions and the relocation of my people been?" Valery asked Adelaide, with a bit of excitement.
"Most of the constructions previously hidden underground have managed to replicate in the new territory" Adelaide replied.
"Have there been any problems?"
"No, so far there hasn't been much of a problem except that there have been delays in continuing to build, we have had to dismantle the previous human constructions in order to build our own constructions, which apply our regulations."

"Then I guess everything has been fine, you'll bring me the paperwork later won't you?" she smiled a little shyly, she knew she couldn't get out of the job even if she wanted to.
"Of course, if you let the work pile up you will also affect your people" Adeladie warned without her playful or friendly tone.
"Yes I understand."
The carriage was driven to the eastern part of the village, the east side of the village was the fastest to finish construction. Because of the multiple vampire merchants who invested in an uncontrolled way to be able to have a place and thus leave the old tradition of the rolling markets.
It was a great gain for the whole territory, they would no longer have to wait for a date or a season of the year for the arrival of traders.
The east zone is the commercial zone of the Redleaves territory. There are other smaller stores in the other areas, but the territory is small as well as its population so it is not very difficult to walk from one side to the other.
Through the window there were no children, only adults or young people not older than 50 or 200 years, there were some who were older than 200 years but all of them had their jobs established.
There is a popular phrase regarding this topic
-If you live that long and you can't do anything with that time, the best thing to do is to walk in the sun and see if you are even immune to the sun.
The phrase does not refer to a super ability or anything like that, it only refers to the fact that we can't waste time. As for walking in the sun, it's just a way of saying that it's better to have someone with a utility than someone who doesn't have one.
But a clear case of taking advantage of your utility was the merchants.
Who from a young age went from territory to territory handling merchandise, hidden from humans. Among most of the commoner vampires the merchants are vampires to be admired as well as the nobles.
The carriage arrived at the entrance to the deepest part of the east side, where a large building of wood and stone stands spectacularly. In front of it, a large man with a lot of body hair was placing a sign at the entrance of the building.
"Merchants' Association" Valery read aloud.
Despite being so loud, the corpulent man heard her, turning to look at Velery with a big smile.
"Haha! I was waiting for you Valery!" said the man with a big black beard. He took a step in the air and the man plummeted. Until he hit the ground creating a small tremor in the surroundings and kicked up dust.
As the dust dispersed, the great height of the hulking man, half as tall as the entire carriage, was noticeable.
"Sir. Bertus it's good to see you looking as cheerful as ever."
Sir Bertus leaned against the carriage, bending it under his weight.
"Happy birthday Valery, come on in I'll give you 30% off anything you want to buy" He said with a big smile.
Bertus is a 700 year old vampire of the same generation as her father. Bertus did not go to war, instead of taking on a combat role he was in charge of transporting resources, along with many other merchants. He returned 12 months ago, and it was he who told her the news that her parents were missing.
"Thank you Sir. Bertus, I will take advantage of the great discount you have given me" He didn't say it sarcastically, after all every vampire that specializes in trade the maximum discount they can give you is 15%.
They're pretty greedy.
Valery entered accompanied by Sir Bertus and Adelaide.
The store was well laid out, with the houses neatly arranged on their respective shelves, there was a staircase on the right side leading to the top, while on the left there was a staircase leading to the bottom.
Some merchandise has to be stored in dark areas as well as some has to be kept in the open air or in high areas.
"Tell me my dear what do you want?" asked Bertus.
"I wanted to know if you have a blood bag."
"I'm sure we do but I'm not sure I can give it to you, you know..." Before he could explain why he didn't want to give her the blood bag, from the staircase leading to the top.
A burly, black-haired boy with no hair on his body. Long hair that reached to his back, he was dressed more elegantly than his father Bertus. His face was clean and unblemished.
No matter what vampire they were, almost all of them had a fairly high beauty, most of the humans turned vampires, they had to get used to this standard and realize that it was a normal beauty and a great beauty.
"Valery!" he said surprised to see her, a little embarrassed to have fallen out of nowhere without realizing that she was in the tent. He recovered quickly, dusted off his clothes and bowed to her.
"It is a wonderful honor to see you here."
"Henry, be more careful" she replied his greeting showing her concern to her reckless childhood friend.
"What are you doing here Valery, did you come to see me?" he asked with a smile perhaps a little excited.
His father, Sir Berstus, gave him a smack on the head.
"Cheeky boy, today is Valery's birthday. Sorry Valery, you know his memory is like that of a fish".
"No, it's nothing. Even I have to remind him when it's his own birthday" Both Valery and Sir. Bertus sighed at Henry's bad memory.
"Regarding the blood bag..." Valery recalled.
"Yes, let's go downstairs."
