Chapter 16
Zayne was standing on the wall as the first message came into his vision in a long time, unless you counted the level's he gained in skills or abilities. The messaged popped with confetti and stars, the system spoke soon after.
“Congratulations! You have completed the quest -spread my name- you gain the ability -killing presence-.”
“Killing presence- all within a ten-foot radius of you will be stricken with the fear status as the ability levels up so too does the fear and effect area. At higher tiers, those with lower constitution (health+stamina then ÷ by 20 = constitution) then you will be struck with the debuff fright. Fright can and will result in death.”
The system’s voice over the years had changed from the robotic mellow sounding one would expect to gaining a sinister personality. It sounded all too fanatic in Zayne gaining an ability to kill more people, gone were the days of trying to steer him onto the right path of completing the tutorial.
“About fucking time you completed that one, it’s been ages since we got that quest.” Foulness, ever the downer, didn’t much care for the big things in life. It was the little things, like eating a body or tearing off limbs.
“Well, it is about time, now that you have the ability why don’t you try it on the goblins?”
“Oh no you don’t, don’t listen to this goody little two shew. Go down there and fuck em up, right in the arse like daddy just came home” Foulness started to moan inside Zayne’s head again.
He and the two voices began to move down the wall when the whole world shook. The sky started to crumble.
****************************
30 minuets before the cataclysm, Sixal was sitting in his office as the tutorial sect overseer when an unexpected call came through his personal monitor. The room sat on top of the tower as the other fairies worked, it wasn’t anything special unless you looked at the hookers and sugar blow that was on his desk. And the jacuzzi that was sitting on auto as bubbles were popping across the top. You’ll also might find a putting hole and a putter on the side overlooking the empty space, if you were looking.
The monitor buzzed as he finished a line causing his eyes to dilate, the hookers were too far gone for Sixal to rely on so he took the monitor to see who was calling. The second he seen the name that was plastered on the screen his heart stopped, cold sweat started to dot his forehead and spine as he fought the urge to smash the thing.
As he looked helplessly at the screen a notification started to blink in the corner of his sight in a red highlight.
He focused on the problem at hand thinking how to run but that wouldn’t solve anything, not really. His boss was on the other line and if he didn’t pick up now then he was sure to have a swift visit. Pushing the hookers off the desk and scattering digital tablets and blow all over the floor, Sixal answered.
“Sixal, we just got word that there was a shift in the Quitz zone. You don’t-” his boss stopped talking as he got a better look at his straight-laced employee. The sight wasn’t good. Sixal was sweaty and had sugar dust running down one side of his nose and the other had a drip of purple blood running to his bottom lip. This of course wasn’t the time to hammer Sixal when there were more important things to take care of first.
“I’m going to overlook your appearance now until the next board meeting but you don’t have a tutorial out that way?” The voice came from an even more firm voice than his old boss, Mr. Fipples. His boss Shaigan was the picture perfect of a tech fairy. Hair combed over to the side and a nice yellow suit. His skin tone was orange but with green highlights here and there.
“No, why.” His answer came out more as a gasp then a full worded question.
Shaigan looked Sixal in the eye as he spoke “Because, one of the 13 dark ones has just started to pass through.” The words smacked Sixal in the face like a sugar wired truck.
“NO, nothing is out that way.”
“Good, now on to the other reason I called you. If you don’t fix that power drain here within the day I’m going to dismiss you. You have three hours.” The screen went dark as the line ended.
Sixal bolted up right, turned then exited thought he door going down to the alpha team floor. Once he got there, he went to the center getting ready to make a non-planned shutdown.
“I know this is short notice but can I please have everyone’s attention for a second. It just came to me while I was going through paperwork that we have been too focused and haven’t been giving you all enough breaks. So, go to break.” The end of the statement was more of a question than a demand causing everyone to stay in place.
“GO TO BREAK NOW!” he screamed.
The alpha team scattered as the paper and data tablets went flying up, the show was something Sixal would have found empowering if he wasn’t in dire straits.
He moved to the center control console putting in the password and codes to Zayne’s tutorial. He hadn’t checked in for over a century but that hardly mattered now. The status was highlighted in red; the words danger was written across the top as he watched the man in chains tear through a dozen soldier at the top of the wall.
Taking a deep breath, Sixal put in the kill code. He tried it originally when Mr. Fipples asked him to but that didn’t work and just like before, it failed now. What the hell was he supposed to do? Looking down in despair, he seen the red notification blinking. He opened it reading the quest and began to laugh.
Quest, get Zayne out of the tutorial.
One of the dark ones has found a suitable host to get into the system with, this cant happen. Pass Zayne’s tutorial to get him out, failure to do so can and will cause the world of Galaria to fall. Count down 00:00:30’s.
Sixal sucked in a breath. He had 30 seconds to have the man in chains to leave the tutorial. That didn’t give him a lot of time to look through the meta data but fuck that sugar plum noise.
He inputted the needed pass and sent the approval through, standing still as he watched if he made it in time.

The goddess Achlys was sitting in her hall with the goblin god as they watched the battle rage on, The humans were losing and here champion was now on the battlefield. Odin was gone and she couldn’t find where that bastard had gotten off to. As the thought crossed her mind, another being entered the hall.
This being wasn’t of shape or color, didn’t have any form. It was as if the void that filled her hall had all gathered together at one spot. The weight of the being started to press down on her. It was alien to this and many other worlds, nothing she has seen before as she began to fight for supremacy.
The air around the void started to shift, tearing open to the star filled space as ooze and smoke came pouring out. The shapes were of varying degree, they moved in and out of this world as the after image stayed, causing any normal person to go mad at the spectacle.
“Mag, get out of here. Now! Warn Odin of this and keep my champion safe.” Achlys was being pushed down to her knees as blood filled her face.
The god Maglubiyet did as she ordered and fell down through the floor as a chasm opened up to him.
“Goodbye, my friend.”
The void swallowed Achlys out of existence.
****************************
The whole world shook as they fought, sending warriors and goblins alike over the wall. Patrick was fighting the Goblin horde master Kafue, but that all stopped when everything starting to shake.
Kafue disengaged with Patrick staring up. He turned back to the man smiling with pointed teeth. “See! I am destined to win, the world shakes with anticipation at my outcome.” As he said this, everyone in the world of the valley got a notification.
Quest- Appease Zayne
Zayne has been looking for his weapon for the past millennia, give him his machete to pass the tutorial.
Reward: No one is left behind.
Patrick stood shock still as he read the message.
****************************
Odin Had gotten the quest as well, though he had already planned on giving the blade to him already, the one the engineer had made. He was currently finishing the runes on the blade before he was finished as the quest came.
Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.
This was unexpected.
The runes he had been imprinting in this blob of mithril was going to be used to kill immortals. The idea was to give the man in chains the weapon to kill his goddess with the hopes the system would let him pass this world so he and his people could leave, but this was better.
Stopping what he was doing, Odin looked at the blade in his hands to go over what he had already put into it.
Blade of the blood drinker,
Scaling-C, advances as the blade grows
Soul bonding, conforms to class of the wielder
Damage 112
The blade was currently a pole but that would change after it was given to the man in chains. Well, there was no point in making it able to kill gods, probably better this way. Odin moved to the man in chains popping right beside him.
****************************
Zayne was watching the world fall apart on him as he struggled to understand what was going on. His intelligence was never the best stat that he had but it should be high enough for him to figure out if this was the end.
It wasn’t high enough.
Looking up he heard the sound of a pop and the rush of boots all around him. Zayne looked to the source of the sound and found a mysterious man standing there with a pole in hand, the pole in question was glowing red with black mist wafting off from it.
The man looking Zayne up and down then plunged the pole into his chest hitting his heart and doing a massive amount of damage. His health bar flashed down to 10% causing Jiminy to scream in his head.
On the back of Zayne’s hand, a black ring started to appear with outlined shapes coming in and out. The crest was something new but the pain of his chest kept him from looking too closely to it. The pole that was sticking out was tearing out his soul.
A blood droplet appeared next to his health bar signaling he had the bleed effect. Zayne took the pole arm wrenching it out and watched it change to a machete, then the world went black.
The sound of the system sounded out one final time, though the voice had a glitchy tone to it.
“Tutorial failed, re-re-re-restart in prog-prog-progress. Startinnnnnnnnnnnnng nowwwww.” The tone switched from high to low pitch.

Christoph woke for the first time in,… he couldn’t remember. The only thing he could was the awful memory of waking up on the operating table only to be put back down. This repeated over and over again to where he couldn’t remember life outside it. The crushing weight of the table and memories played in his head again.
He thought of the time he laid there on that cold table, the table they operated on him taking out organs and metal as he drifted off in and out of sleep.
The first thing that came to mind; I’m dead, for one reason or another you can’t remember how though. You open your eyes, and flooding through your vision comes a bombardment of memories, some happy and some sad. You sit there, falling through the abyss that is your mind, reliving your life for what seems an eternity. And then, you start to see memories that you don’t quite remember, but all seem familiar.
Suddenly, a voice speaks out; “These are the memories of the lives you lived, past and present.” Then pain erupts all over your body and throughout your mind, tearing you apart. The voice speaks again;” You will feel all the pain you have ever caused to another or yourself.” And then silence envelops you as you fall ever so slowly, feeling everything again as you relive your lives. An eternity of pain continues, each moment the pain growing. And then, it stops.
You hit the ground, and the pain stops, the memories are all done. The voice calls out to you again, but this time through a mirror, your face talking to you;” Do you deserve a second chance, to live a new life and try again?” And you say yes, and the process starts again, over and over till the day you finally given in, the pain becomes too much. And you finally say;” No I don’t deserve that second chance.” And just like that, it all ends, the pain, the memories, everything. You slowly fade to nothing.
Christoph was wet from the profuse sweat, his clothes damp and eyesight unfocused, forcing him to close his eyes. He had a thought before he was teleported again, or at least he thought it was his thought. The words sounded, ringing in his ears as the voice told him of his class.
“Congratulations, your class is -mage killer-. You-”

Sara was kept in the dark, cold, sinister cell that forced her to relive her most hated memories as she waited for her prince charming to save her. After her little stunt she pulled, which it was totally mutual by the way, Sara was forced away from her love. She stayed there hoping of hope to be able to see Zayne again when the sound of Achlys sounded out. The cell shook violently, the darkness drifted away as she was teleported to an unknown place.

Throughout the world of Galaria, every known scryer and seer woke up in a panic, screaming the curse of Zayne is coming. That was only the ones that could stand the vision, the under leveled ones died before they could even wake up. Alarm and fright ran through the cities and towns as their visionist told of an awful beast coming to take and kill everything.
In the capital of the dwarven country, alarm and bells rang as warriors got prepared to take on the threat that was coming. Deep in the tunnels of the throne room, there sat the king of the territory, waiting impatiently for the other leaders of the neighboring kingdoms. He was a barrel-chested elite dwarf with intricate armor, the crown he wore was as tall his was long. Bright red hair spouted off of his head and on his face. His beard was tied and twisted in just as intricate patterns as his armor.
He sat atop a throne of granite and obsidian with bright jewels placed in it, gold and silver ran though like lightning flashing in the night sky frozen in place. At the top wat a mark of platinum embedded in a crest, the sign was of a crown very similar to the one that sat on the dwarf’s head, hammers were crossed in the center. One had an axe on the end with the other a spike.
The table that laid out before him was enormous, 12 seats sat there that were enticing as his own. Each was different and empty, which was why he sat there impatiently.
Soon others came into view, they were the leaders of the 13 kingdoms that were sworn to keep the peace. OR one would say to keep the others from gaining too much power. All varied from race, but there was no humans among them. They sat at their seats waiting for the last person to enter the room, well not enter but spell in. See, non were really here but had a crystal that gave the illusion that they all sat at the same table. The last one to enter was the oldest seer on this side of the continent who was part of the elf nation.
The humans would be part of it too, but that was just the other nations making them feel special. Humans as a whole were pathetic, worthless things that felt that they were better than the other races. That all ended when the great war came to a halt. Now, they were only three kingdoms left and all of that was due to the elves, dwarves, and mermaids. They were hated, forced to a life of slavery or indentured servants when not in their own lands, the three kingdoms paid homage to the other races in forms of food or blood.
King Ravago was being transmitted to their consul table, he and his so-called liaison of the elf nation standing right beside him. The humans didn’t have a seat here at the table but was kept standing. This would enrage any other race but the stupid humans thought of it as an honor.
As the elf nation took her seat, Queen Floria, she turned to the human and gave a generous nod to. King Dwarnex lord of the forge had back a bitter laugh as he seen the spectacle.
“Queen Floria, your seer has the floor.” Dwarnex said.
Waving her hand at the seer that came with her, the old women came to the center of the table. The image of her was cut off below the chest as she strolled through, the staff and rags she had on was old and dusty. One couldn’t see her face without bending over to see.
“I have seen a disaster coming, one no creature can stop. The man came from a place of eternity, with smoke drifting off from him. The chains that once bound are used to destroy, the blade of a thousand eyes sowed discord across the land. Plague and famine couldn’t stop him as he marched by himself killing all before. The only thing stopping him was a crescent moon that wept tears of blood, the blood of his and the blood of the land stood strong.”
The old hag coughed into her fist twice, shaking the blood off to the table. An image appeared of the land scape in disaster. The man in chains had come to this land and was now standing on a pile of never-ending bones. The moon was low, to low. Blood poured out of it as he stood there looking only to turn into a monster of void.
“The only way to make it so this never happens is to find the moon.”
A slam came from the middle of the table, the person that did it was of the orcs race. He was war leader Gor and had been through countless battle, he and a few others present were the only ones who went through the human’s war. Few could forget and the ones still alive would never forgive.
“Is he HUMAN?” the war chief asked.
The seer turned to the orc as he sat stewing in rage, “Yes, but which the likes we have never seen before.”
The chief slammed down his meaty fist again. “It’s always the humans! Why haven’t we killed them all already?” Gor turned to look at the human leader reaching for his blade. “If I could, you and yours would never breath again.”
The human king stood stonily as the words were thrown at him.
The dwarven king spoke up, “What do you mean there isn’t a way to stop him? He’s just human after all.” His voice was higher pitch then one would think with a strange accent to it.
“Did you not just hear her; she said the only thing that could stop it was the crescent moon. Shelba, what do you mean by the crescent moon?” Queen Floria spoke indigently, more of a snobbish throw at the dwarf.
The seer open her mouth to respond but was stopped by another. “Do you really believe that this human can stop us, I not going to sit here while the rest of you talk about some human. If he starts to build anything like the last time then let me know.” The man was King Oceana, leader of the merfolk. He blinked out of existence as others did so as well. The only ones left was the orc, elf, and dwarf leaders.
“Well that went as good as it could have.” The king of the forge said.
****************************
The other side of the armonic ocean, where the faction of the dark gods lay was the lord of blood, King Viscut. He was a handsome man, or well… a vampire who was in a beautiful, tailored suit of red and gray. He had eons of experience on this planet, who also couldn’t leave this side of the continent after a peace agreement between him and the forces of the light. But that didn’t mean he could cause mayhem.
He sat in his study reading a rather interesting book about a certain dungeon crawling man with a talking cat. It came over when the humorous humans who started a war, but he couldn’t finish the series. Unfortunately, it had stopped at book 5.
A knock came at his door as he reread the last page, the words were barely eligible anymore but he knew it by heart. “Yes genny, what is it?”
A little skeleton of three ft. popped out behind the door, “Sorry to intrude my lord by Cerca is currently shaking the entire tower, were afraid that she might actually take it down this time.”
“Ok, I’ll take a look so don’t get too worried.” Cerca hadn’t had a premonition like this since the last bunch of humans who caused the planet wide war had spawned in.
Viscut took the form of a multitude of bats and went at high speeds to the tower where his sweet lamia laid. She was like a daughter of his in a way, who had the misfortune of taking a sleep spell that would never wake up from. That changed after tonight.
He found her there, in bed, rapped around what the humans of old called a body pillow. The heat that radiated off her was tangible as she moaned into her pillow. It was a sight a father never wanted to see.
She was half snake from the waist down, her scales were rose pink and rose gold along the outlines of them. Her snake half was 20ft long and had a bright sheen to it. The top half was one of a young woman, no older the 17 or 18 with pink hair. Her eyes were closed but if they were open then they would by the same color as her scales. She had tan skin the color of her people.
Taking to her side, he gently stroke her hair as she calmed down. Burst of howls and moans came now and again but it slowed as she woke from her never ending dream.
Viscut would have been happy if it was caused by something else, but this had him worried. “Cerca, do you remember who I am? Can you tell me what you seen.”
Upon waking up, she looked around for a moment until she found her fathers eyes. Cerca threw herself at her father as she began to cry.
“I don’t care what it take! I want him! I want him now.” She began to cry anew as fresh tears streamed down her face.
“Who, who do you want?” Viscut asked. Confused as to why she wanted some man and not her father. Her father who she hadn’t had a talk with in a very long time.
“Zayne, the man in chains!” she cried.

The world of Zayne’s tutorial was taken and placed into the center of a very large ruin city; towers reached far father then anything he had seen before. Moss and vines grew out of the destroyed buildings with tall trees sprouting out all over the place. It was a scene taken out of his old life and put here.
The two armies stood on opposite ends facing him with an unknown person in the center of them. The human was dressed differently then what he was used to, like the city he too was something taken out of the life he had to endure.
Zayne prepared to take on the two armies and the lone man when he heard the screech of something large and the flap of wings. It all happened too quickly for him to figure out what just took place. He was standing there waiting for the first move of the known people then only to be picked up and taken to the air. He looked up and found that he was being held by some fire breathing drake. Its level read 150 lv.
