Chapter 2

Felicia flew to the city of Belgrade, a great vampire stronghold, held by vampires even before Dracula’s arrival, surely the human slaves could not have possibly managed to outsmart the hundreds of years of vampire rule, the humans in this continent were technologically backwards, even by human standards, although they neighbor their so called “roman empire” and that desert caliphate.

“Perhaps some human scientists leaked in” Felicia thought to herself. “The master should focus our invasion on the literate of the human stock, rather than the illiterate”.

Felicia arrived at the Belgrade fortress, it was her home, she has never seen its inhabitants in this level of disarray.

“STOP!” she shouted.

Everyone looked at her, some with relief, others with disgust.

“Who is in charge?” Felicia asked.

A big male vampire came and said with confidence “I am!” he then bowed and said, “in your service mistress.”

Felicia smiled at him, she disliked most of Dracula’s court, they were rebellious, feral, and if they are not then they are snobby and pretentious, the only exception to that would be the dark lord himself, and this vampire.

“David, my handsome hunk, what has happened here?” Felicia asked flirtatiously.

“Had the circumstances were different I would have flirted with you my lady.” David retorted with a small hint of flirt. “A rebellion is what happened, it seems that some mad human came in and slaughtered the head vampire of the fort by literally slaughtering his head.”

Felicia’s smiling face turned to shock. “the humans cannot kill us easily” she said, “even if they knew our weakness, you cannot sever a vampire’s head.”

“I am afraid this one found a way” David returned, his face serious, “this human call himself a vampire hunter, witnesses claim that he came from the darkness, threw a thorned whip on the head vampire, and then severed it, after which the humans somehow managed to figure our weakness, so he must have informed them”.

Felicia’s face was filled with dread, the vampires were few before, hunted by the few humans who knew their weakness, so called “vampire hunters”, Dracula came and hunted the hunters to extinction, could one have escaped? No, that is impossible, all vampire hunters were accounted for, all of them were killed, so this one is either a pretender or a new threat.

“The humans may have figured out a way, but they are still flesh and blood, we can kill them easily.” Felicia said, with her composure returning back.

“now, where are my male slaves?” the vampires disgusted by Felicia’s arrival gave a sneer, one of them, a female whispered, “we are being attacked and all she can think of is her pleasure with those lowly creatures”, Felicia leapt with high speed and held the female vampire’s neck, “just because we are both females and vampires, you’d think I would let you speak behind my back” Felicia tightened on her neck.

“I like my slaves, their vigor makes me think, makes me concentrate, makes me the powerful vampire you see in front of you, perhaps your lack of pleasure is why you are this weak.” Felicia squeezed the female vampire’s neck until it snapped, the vampire lied dead on the floor.

“anyone wishes to question the lady’s right for pleasure?” David shouted.

The vampires watching all withdrew themselves to their business, Felicia looked kindly at David and said, “How chivalrous, join me, you need the relief for the battle, you can be on the back.”

David smiled, as he and Felicia walked into her room.

The room looked like a torture chamber, the stony walls were filled with a green moss, the floor was pained with blood, mutilated flesh, and the seeds of men, the beds’ pillars were made of sharp spikes, and the mattresses were damp with moisture and blood, in them sat Felicia and David, in the largest bed in the middle, surrounded by crying bleeding men, whose cries of mercy did nothing but excite the incubus vampires.

“Aaah, that did the trick” said Felicia, “all the energy of my travel is restored”, David gazed upon her erotic body and said, “quite interesting, of the many ways we can restore our strengths, blood, meat and water, it would never occur to me that seeking the pleasure of human intercourse would be one of them.”

Felicia smiled, she remembered the days of her early youth, back when she was considered a weakling, after all, female vampires lack a small pool of the male’s powers, a small pool that makes a sea of difference, mist transformation, immunity to ranged weapon, and the monstrous transformations, these made the females vulnerable, weaker to humans, male vampires either had to lower themselves to humans to protect the females, or forget them all together and mate with humans, but Felicia looked at those who did the latter, and noticed that their vitality and abilities grew stronger, could it be that preforming the natural obligation but with humans granted strength? Later in her life she realized that just intercourse with either human, vampire or werewolf could grant strength, but by the time she realized that she held a large personal dungeon of human male slaves and she grew more powerful than most vampire males around.

She began a campaign of human enslavement for pleasure, and gathered a small army of powerful allies, of which were useful of taking her home of Belgrade when the forces of Dracula offered her assistance.

Felicia woke up from her trance of remanence as she noticed one of her slaves attempting to escape, she threw her dagger at his hand and pinned him into the wall, she laughed and said, “did you really think you can run? Oh, don’t cry! it’s just your hand, your vitals as well as the vital part of you are unharmed.”

She then commanded one of the slaves that she was done draining to tie his wound as he would not bleed to death.

“Now, to business.” Felicia said to David with a serious look on her face.

“Vampire hunters, I never encountered them before, but our lord and some of his companions told stories of them, they held great knowledge of vampire weaknesses and strength, probably learnt from those traitors who they befriended.”

Felicia gave a look of disgust in her face, a look that David shared.

“Anyway, they were wiped out by our lord 10 years before he came to power, I wouldn’t deny the possibility that maybe one or more escaped, but if they are teaching the humans how to fight then they must be destroyed.”

Felicia looked sternly at David and commanded, “DAVID! Go to hunt the hunter, search for any human who holds a whip, and be vigilant, never underestimate them even if it’s only one.”

David gave a smile, then stood and gave her a kiss on the forehead, “It will be done, I will be back with the hunter’s head.”

He then transformed into a bat and flew at the speed of sound.

David flew across the northern flatlands of Serbia, stopping at each village he comes across to question the werewolf guards of the vampire hunter, either to be told they never heard of him, or tell him of information he already knew, David pondered if the werewolves were that incompetent or just lucky.

He soon found out it was the latter, for when he reached a village near the city of Novi Sad, he found the werewolf guards dead, slashed into pieces, or had their heads sliced off, this did not bother David, as he cared very little for the werewolves, but what really annoyed him is that their deaths were days ago, way before the Belgrade rebellion, as such he continued his search.

He kept flying, following a trail of death that befell both werewolves and vampires, a trail that kept getting fresher and fresher, until he reached Subotica.

David expected to see a glorious battle scene, where Argus fought bravely against the vampire slayer, after all, while werewolves were brute idiots, Argus was an extremely powerful idiot with a small hint of intelligence and a strong skin.

What David did not expect was to see Argus’s body starting to rot, with his mouth impaled and his head on the floor, this was unsettling, as these wounds indicate that he died quickly.

But no, that would be impossible, maybe the vampire hunter got a lucky hit, if Argus fell quickly then that would spill danger to all vampires.

David transformed into mist, he wished to spy on the surviving humans to see if any of them saw the vampire hunter.

In a bar in the city, a young man retells the story of what he saw.

“It was horrible” he said, his voice quivering with fear, “I can still remember that werewolf’s terrible form, it came to me, knocked me into a wall, and as it was about to finish me off, he came.”

“Who came?” said a listener.

“Simon, the vampire hunter.” He responded, “he flung his whip around the werewolf, then stabbed it inside his mouth, he looked refined, handsome, but cold, his eyes showing a cold fury, as if he was an angel that came to punish the sinners of this world.”

The young man, shivering from the memory of the encounter, looked at the listeners and corrected them, “do not get me wrong! I was merely shocked of my near-death experience, I am forever grateful to the vampire hunter, still, he must really hate Dracula and his minion, he said we must go west, safety lies there.”

The crowd looked troubled, one lady said, “and leave our homes to Dracula?”

Many murmured in agreement, the young man looked stern at them, they fell silent.

“Yes, homes can be rebuilt, lives cannot be restored.” He said, “We will go to safety, protect ourselves, grow stronger, then maybe we can truly fight against Dracula.”

One old man with a walking stick stood and said, “what about the man who saved you? Where is this vampire hunter?”

The young man shivered a bit, then answered, “he must have left to deal with the Belgrade rebellion, to give them assistance perhaps, we cannot always rely on someone else to solve our problems”, he then continued, “we must go, spread the knowledge of vampire and werewolf weakness with us, that way, the sacrifices of our dead will not go in vain”.

The crowds nodded their heads, some looked disapproving, but one person was horrified, it was true, Argus was killed easily, and now there is a chance that the vampire hunter will return to Belgrade.

David, who was listening, left the bar, transformed into a bat, and flew fast, the vampire hunter must have taken a different route, maybe he can intercept him on the way, he must destroy him, he must protect the vampires, he even thought that maybe Dracula will reward him with great status and a castle of his own.
