Rituals, or Group Magic, is the colloquial term used for one of the eight spheres of magic made available to some users of a Silvergate.
It uses a specific vital stat, Ritual Readiness, labeled as just “Ritual” on the Interface. As with all magic, the stat is not visible until you obtain a Skill that uses it.
The classical view of a Ritualist is a massive group buffer. Rituals enhance how anyone fights and are considered a boon to group or raid combat. Ritualists typically do not fight using their own Rituals, which are too lengthy, relying instead on other magic or more basic combat prowess.
Ritual Skills are typically associated with Fortitude, Intuition, and Presence; no Skill has been found outside those three areas. That last stat is often considered the most significant for a Ritualist, as half of their Skills reside in it. They are relatively rare in the lottery and always of relatively high tier, and Ritualists with more than one Ritual are uncommon. All Rituals are lengthy area buffs.
The specific “flavor” of Ritual comes from its area nature, the lengthy Cooldown on all Skills, and the high variability of the Skills’ costs, which depends on the time of day, location, number of affected people, and more.
Its Vital cap is extremely wide, as all stats participate in it:
Vital cap = 300 + Level×3 + Fortitude ×2 + Presence×2 + Dexterity + Intuition + Perception + Reasoning + Reflexes + Resilience + Strength
All Rituals follow the same style of formulas:
Auspicious Omens
Tier 1 Fortitude
Ritual
The auspices are cast, the omens are good. They’re always good. For a while.

Grant every friendly entity a +% hit/+% success buff.
Duration: (skill) min
Area: (skill×2)m radius
Buff: +(10+(1.01 skill ×2))% hit & success
Cooldown: (12×0.99skill) hour
Cast time: (30×0.99skill) sec
Cost: (150-skill) Ritual, +(45×0.99skill) per hour after last sunrise, -(1+skill×0.01) per affected entity
(note: Success appears to affect all Skills, including crafting.)
Only entities with levels are affected by the Rituals, although the term “friendly” does not distinguish intent among Gaters.
Different Ritualists using the same Ritual do not stack their boons. A Ritual with either a bigger effect or a longer duration – even with a lesser effect – overwrites the existing one.
It has a decent recovery:
Rate = (Presence / 20) per second
Any Skill or piece of gear that affects Presence will increase that rate, but due to lengthy recast times, Ritualists often regenerate their full pool before their next use. There is still a specific Meditation skill that can be used to improve that significantly:
Meditation of Ceremony
Tier 4 Intuition
Action
Rituals, too seeped in habit, become ossified.
Ritual energy recharges at an accelerated rate while you are meditating. You may perform Rituals more often. Meditation is interrupted if you move or take an action.
Maximum meditation period: (skill) sec
Cooldown: (600×0.99skill) sec
Ritual recovery: (skill/10) per second
Cooldown Reduction: -(skill×1.01skill) sec to all Ritual skills per second
Due to the need to have expended at least 1 point of Ritual to be able to use the Meditation, it is considered hard to improve.
Other, more generic Meditations also greatly increase your regeneration rates for Rituals, but all Meditation skills are incredibly rare (see “Fanduk”).
Typical Rituals skills:
Awareness of Life (tier 3 Intuition): improves all vision skills.
Hearth and Cycle (tier 2 Fortitude): improves vitals.
The Dawn of Light (tier 1 Presence): percentage skill buffs.
There are no known examples of tier 4 or 5 rituals.

Special section on Locational Interference – Project Cartographers Eyes-Only
This section contains only highly speculative information and is not considered accurate. It is intended to serve as a discussion board for Cartographers involved in the Build Map project, not as a reference.
Locational interference for Rituals is assumed to obey complex rules, reflecting the often complex formulas that subtend these Skills.
Officer notes: Given the paucity of Ritualists, rumors of locational effects must be simultaneously taken with a grain of salt – low sample size – and very seriously – high reward if confirmed.
Locational Interference for Rituals has the potential to provide the maximum effect if demonstrated.
