Chapter 3: Cliche Mean Girl Alert!

“I’m going out,” Shizuka stated as she shut her laptop, smoothing the couple of stickers on the top.

“So you do have a boyfriend,” Mary teased as Shizuka passed her on the couch. Shizuka stopped, with a playful sparkle in her eye, jumped onto the couch where Mary was sitting and quickly bounced off.

“Ga- Shizu!” The humanized golden retriever laughed as Shizuka scampered away from the scene and to the door.

“I’m going to the library, you can greet our neighbors while I’m gone, just don’t use my books as house-warming gifts.” Shizuka prodded as she reached for her saddlebag.

“Yes ma’am, Corporal Shizu ma’am!” Mary saluted jokingly.

Shizuka smiled, opening the door. She jumped back slightly once she heard a stuck up “Uhf” from behind the door.

“Ack, uh, are you-”

“How dare you?! You hit me!” A girl with dazzling golden locks accused, you could almost instantly tell she was the popular mean type.

“I-I didn’t realize you were there, sorry…” Shizuka said with the most remorse she could muster. The girl scoffed and turned away, high heels clicking as she walked away.

Heyyy. Mind opening the door for me? I have a present for u!

“Oh, it’s one of your fangirls at the door, that ‘Chelzy’ chick.” Eric said, another rapping of knocks came from the door as he checked Adam’s phone without consent.

Adam groaned, “great,” he responded sarcastically. He walked to the door and took a deep breath, placing a goofy smile on his face as if he was just joking around before opening the door.

“Hm, oh hi. Chelzy right?”

“Chelsea,” the girl corrected. “But hi! I thought I should bring a homecoming gift ‘cause ya’ know, I’m so nice.” She handed him a basket of fruits. Heh, classic.

“Okay, I’ll share this with Eric,” Adam said, pretending not to notice her attempt to bond further (and I mean romantically).

“Oh, I-i’m late for a study date. Gotta’ go~𝅘𝅥𝅮” Chelsea spun on her foot, golden waves flowing with her movements gracefully. Adam closed the door almost immediately after the girl turned away.

He set the basket on the kitchen counter, “Big fan of apples?” Adam said, picking up two apples out of the bunch of fruits.

“Dunno, are they granny smiths?” Eric replied, getting up to grab an apple from the churro.

“How about you check the dorm arrangements before we go ‘exploring the building’?” Adam said, eyeing Eric. After an awkward silence, they both burst out in laughter.
