"This kingdom was once a prosperous place. A kingdom with great wealth and power. But

then the dark lord rose to power and started a war". Ronan was curious what exactly qualified as a dark lord? Is it just an extremely strong Tarnished or something more? Kyra continued his story

"The dark lord had an army unlike any other. His army consisted of Tarnished, beasts, and even Zivaat". Ronan was confused and Kyra elaborated further. "Zivaat were beings that were cursed with immortality and were forced to serve the dark lord". Ronan was shocked there

were beings that were immortal Kyra nodded his head "Yes, Zivaat were immortal and had incredible powers. But they had one massive weakness: the cold".

Kyra chuckled and continued his story "Zivaat were weakened by cold temperatures. Meaning that if someone were able to lower the temperature of an area they could make a prompt retreat". He continued "Keyword retreat and not defeated ". Ronan understood Kyra continued "Eventually the war reached its end the dark lord was defeated but the kingdom was lost due to the use of Phoenix fire". Ronan was curious what was Phoenix fire Kyra responded with a smirk "Phoenix fire was a powerful

fire that could burn the soul even after the flames are extinguished". Ronan gulped Kyra continued his story. "Phoenix fire was such a devastating weapon that the entire kingdom was wiped off the map". Ronan was in shock that an entire kingdom was lost and Kyra nodded his head in confirmation.

"fortunately in order to use phoenix fire you must have a Phoenix familiar". Kyra grimaced "Phoenixes are generally fire incarnate; they were created by Zivaat themselves". Ronan was curious about Kyra "Phoenixes are hard to control, they only obey their master and even then it takes an immense amount of Shard energy and will in order to tame a Phoenix familiar".

Ronan was curious and Kyra chuckled "Phoenix familiars can grow in power they can be summoned and can live in shard energy". Ronan wanted to see one Kyra shook his head

"Unfortunately Phoenixes went extinct after the kingdom was wiped off the map. The last one died in his master's arms." Ronan's eyes blinked and then a small smile was on his face, eyes locked on Kyra.

"But aren't Phoenix's immortal"? Kyra shook his head Ronan "Phoenixes can die however their shard energy is eternal so in a way you could revive a Phoenix familiar or they will reform when they gather enough energy ".

"But I doubt anyone would want to revive the last one due to the fact that he most likely doesn't want to be bonded again". Ronan was curious and Kyra elaborated "Phoenix familiars bond with their masters and if their master dies they won't want another shard energy to resonate with".

"So in a way Phoenixes are tragic beings who are unable to live without a master or friends".

"If that's the case then why do they reproduce if they can't die, wouldn't that lead to overpopulation"? Kyra smirked at Ronan "Phoenixes reproduce due to the fact that they can decide when they go to the afterlife". Ronan moved closer, his arms relaxing at his side while Kyra continued to elaborate further.

" Phoenixes can choose when they pass they can go to the afterlife but in order to reproduce they have to give up most of their shard energy.

This phenomenon is theorized to happen because in order for a pheonix to pass on they need to give 'equivalent exchange' in order to die life must be given in return". Ronan was amazed Kyra chuckled Ronan "Phoenixes themselves are divided into categories it's actually quite simple. They are Phoenixes who aren't fire incarnates . Some Phoenixes can be an entirely different race of being because their shard energy is different leading to them to be categorized differently based on shard energy.

Elemental Phoenixes are divided into multiple categories. Earth Phoenixes, Wind Phoenixes, Water Phoenixes, and Fire Phoenixes tend to correlate with all known shards. For example there once was a phoenix who could bend time to its will or that's what legends say. Ronan was amazed Kyra chuckled Ronan "Elemental Phoenixes can be weak or incredibly strong Phoenixes are comparable to Tarnished and wraiths due to the fact that they are born with shard energy". Ronan wanted one Kyra chuckled Ronan "Phoenixes themselves can grow stronger; they are similar to Tarnished and wraiths due to the fact that they can improve their shard energy through training".

Ronan was getting tired of him talking about the same thing. It felt like an hour just went by and other things were on his mind like the gala he might have to attend.

Kyra noticed his apprentice getting tired so he changed topics "As you may be thinking about the gala and other things I'm going to have Adrian teach you". Ronan had a question "how come he hasn't healed his eye yet". Ronan looked at Kyra with an anxious look on his face.

"Oh the wound is healed, he just damaged his shard that means he can't use magic without hurting himself for the next week as it takes blood from the body to fill in the holes that the battle caused".

Ronan wanted to help him because he was his friend. Kyra gleamed into Ronans emotions and concluded a decision he was making for the upcoming weeks. "As an apology for keeping you under my bindings I'm going to let Adrian be your guard and a close friend". Ronan was overjoyed Kyra smirked Ronan "Your guard will start from tomorrow on".

Ronan was excited he was getting a friend to spend the next month with and hopefully he could get some control in his life.
