Before the birth of the mortal races, before the stars and the sea, before matter and anti-matter, 12 beings of unfathomable power came into existence. Not knowing of their purpose, nor their creator, those beings travelled across the infinite plane of nothingness searching for answers. After searching for millions of years, the beings came to the conclusion that they were created in order to create everything. In this plane of emptiness they would create something grand. With this thought driving them, the 12 started to mould the space around them, creating stars, planets, solar systems and eventually the first universe was born.
Seeing what they could create the 12 beings were ecstatic. But soon after they grew bored of their creation. To them creating planets soon became tedious as nothing ever actually happened to them besides floating in space. These worlds that they created were empty and desolate. Nothing grew, nothing moved, nothing did anything. Unable to understand why their creations left them feeling so vacant, they spent the next few thousand years contemplating on how to fix this.
After waiting for a long time, one of the 12 raised their head and looked at its brethren. In that second a single thought appeared in its mind, life! Why was everything boring? Why was nothing ever happening? The answer was staring at them in the face all along! For millions upon millions of years they had travelled together and what got them all through it was each other. If they didn’t have each other then they would have been extremely bored within the first 50 million years.
With this revelation the being looked at its other brethren contemplating their own answers. It decided not to disturb them as it thought that if they could come up with their own ideas and merge them with its own, then they could create something astonishing.
Looking away from them, it started to mould a shape that would constantly change its size and spread its body over a distance. For the next 900 years the being worked and worked on its creation.
Over this period of time the other beings begun to have their own revelations. Seeing that their brethren was sitting down moulding a unique looking figure, they went to inquire about it. When they realised that their brethren had created a life, they all felt ecstatic over the thought of creating something similar. But before they started, they observed their brethren’s finished creation.
The first living creation made by the 12 was an ultraviolet coloured lifeform named “Fire”. A life that would continuously burn forever.
Seeing this the other beings started to copy the creation known as fire while adding in their own variations into the mix. Noticing its brethren’s enthusiasm, the creator of fire started to play with it, testing what it could do and what it couldn’t do.
After a couple of years the 12 assembled and presented their creations. They named their individual creations Light, Darkness, Earth, Air, Water, Space, Gravity, Life, Death, Creation, and Destruction. Seeing each other’s creations, the twelve started to discuss their properties and how they thought of it. What was surprising was that the creation of Light was based of the glow that fire gave off and the creation of Darkness was based of the shadow that appeared under them whenever they came close to fire. What surprised them even more was the creation of water.
The being that created fire was somewhat worried as it noticed that Water and Air were not able to get along with Fire. Not wanting its first living creation to disappear the creator of fire thought of an idea.
Stolen novel; please report.
By placing fire and all the other lifeforms in separate dimensions that overlapped with the universe, the twelve discovered that the universe started to remake itself to incorporate fire and the other lifeforms into itself. This process took thousands of years until it was complete.
Now separate weaker versions of fire could exist in the universe without affecting the first flame. The same went for the other creations now able to exist in the universe. The once non-existent oceans started to flow, wind started to blow on planets and planets started to reform once Earth was incorporated. Time had started to flow properly.
The twelve named the race of their creations as “LAWS”. The lifeform previously known as fire was now known as the “Law of Fire” and every other flame in the universe is the child of the “Law of Fire”.
Although they had created something spectacular the twelve noticed that unlike them, the Laws didn’t have a will of their own and just sort of existed. Feeling the slow shadow of depression arriving, one of the twelve remembered the revelation it had when it woke up. Something known as the mind and soul.
Remembering their revelations from 7050 years ago the remaining 10 also started to share their revelations.
After a very long time the twelve started to create new lifeforms with different types of bodies and traits. Some had horns, some had claws, and some had fangs. For these creations the twelve gave them, souls, language and basic knowledge. With that the twelve casted them into the universe and watched how they developed from a distance.
After countless centuries went by, their creations had developed their own cultures and had given the twelve beings who gave life to them the title of “Celestials”. What surprised the Celestials was that their creations not only had self-awareness, but they were able to draw out the power of the Laws from their respective dimensions and manipulate them within their own.
Although their method of manipulation was crude and unable to match up to the Celestials, they’re creativity was something that the celestials were unable to match. Their creations called Earth, Air, Fire and Water were dubbed with the title of Elemental Laws as they were the easiest to control and could counter each other.
As the Celestials watched as their creations grew, they decided to create more universes but before that, they had to create a higher plane of existence for themselves known as the Celestial Palace and later known as the Heavens.
Within the Celestial Palace a message from an unknown source appeared in their mind congratulating them on creating their first universe and independent life forms. Within this message an image of a creature with wings and scales appeared and a blueprint detailing how to create an entire species of these creatures.
Instinctively knowing that the message and mysterious blueprint was sent to them by their creator, the Celestials created the creatures within the Celestial Palace and then released them into a dimension that was higher than that of the universe but still linked to its laws.
This race that was sent to them was a magnificent species and the strongest of all the mortal races that they created. The kings of the sky and Children of the Heavens, “The Dragon Race.”
Dozens of years had passed and near infinite amounts of universes were created. Countless races called these places home. Some of these universes were peaceful and prosperous, some were dark and brutal, and many were engulfed by wars amongst the races. The scariest one had people who idolized the Celestials and assumed that they would ascend to the Celestial Palace if they killed enough mortals in their name.
Seeing this the Celestials decided to wipe the memory of themselves out of the mind of all the races as to make sure nothing like this would happen again because of them. To ensure this they created beings that were stronger than mortals to watch over them to ensure that the universes that were wiped out by its mortal inhabitants could be reported to them. These beings were known as Gods and every universe had their own God sworn to watch over it.
