In the forest on library island.
“This is an affinity orb, place your hand on it and try to comprehend a law.” Holding out the crystal ball to Daelos, Kira explained the purpose of the orb. “There are currently 6 laws that we understand. Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Light and darkness. We call the first four elemental laws. If you have an affinity for any of them, then the ball will either get hot like fire, get doused in water, float in the air or become really heavy.”
“What if I get light or darkness?”
“If you get light then the ball will glow, if you get darkness then the ball will release a black mist. But the likelihood of you getting either of those is slim to none.”
Nodding his head, Daelos picked up the crystal ball and tried to comprehend the law of air.
Standing still for a moment, no change seemed to occur. Opening his eyes he felt the ball grow heavier in his hand.
“Earth then huh?” standing by his side Kira observed the changes in the affinity orb.
“Seems so.” Not that it matters, once I fully sync with this world’s vibrational frequency then these laws won’t mean much.
“I didn’t think you’d get that.”
“Is it bad?”
“No I just didn’t expect it. Honestly I thought you’d get air or fire, earth was out of my calculations. Looks like I’ll have to change your training schedule.”
“Can I go now.”
“Hmm. Yeah.”
…
“Hey Daelos.” Lyla’s voice sounded out once more.
“Yeah.”
“Isn’t now the best time to visit the library.”
“Now that you mention it this does seem to be the best chance to check it out.”
…
For the next 3 months Daelos went through Kira’s hellish training regimen and gained a new understanding towards the usage of laws. During the times he was free from Kira he’d hide in the library and browse books while he trained his vibrational energy. When night fell he’d start his mental energy training sessions with Lyla and practice utilizing the ring of torment.
During those three months, Daelos’s physique had improved immensely as his well-toned muscles and handsome face caused several elf girls who used to treat him like air to stop and take a second look at him.
Gone was his innocent naivety and left behind was overwhelming confidence.
His control over mental energy also improved while his fighting sense could now be described as Godlike due to his sparring with Kira.
What scared her was Daelos’s original techniques and strategies when using laws. According to him, since his world’s understanding of science and this world’s understanding of law were compatible with each other, he could bring out the full potential of both worlds that they couldn’t reach individually.
…
“3 months ago you were given the time to enhance your abilities. Now it is time to prove that, that time was well spent. During this sparring examination if you do not impress me! your gone, if you do not win a single battle! your gone, if you do not have the potential! Then you gone.”
Standing in the courtyard, Kira spouted off some military general nonsense while the students stood decked out in their battle equipment.
Since he begun his training with Kira, Daelos had ditched his usual outfit in favour of a black sleeveless jacket with a silver long sleeved undershirt, and silver coloured sash around his waist. On his feet were black boots similar to his previous ones. His trousers were also a similar to his old one, the only difference was the vertical silver dragon design.

“Okay, I’m going to be picking the order now so listen up. First up we’ll have Hera vs Daisha, then Rhina vs Altun, after that we’ll have Veral vs Daelos.”
After the matchups were decided both Hera and Daisha got into their battle positions and simply nodded to each other.
“BEGIN” shouting out in a loud voice Kira started the match.
Letting all the tension flow out of her body, Hera covered her body in wind armour before charging towards Daisha at an amazing speed. Following her actions Daisha coated her body in a golden light and charged at Hera with an even greater speed. Once the two clashed Hera swiped her hand releasing an arc shaped wind blade aim at Daisha.
*Swoosh!*
Seeing the wind blade, Daisha evaded by creating a small earth platform and jumping into the air. While in the air she created a row of golden swords made of light and sent them hurtling to towards Hera.
Dodging the numerous sword lights, Hera created a pit of earth spikes where Daisha was about to land. Realising her plan Daisha used the law of air to propel herself forward before crashing into the earth spikes.
Seeing that Daisha hadn’t recovered from her landing, Hera charged her once more raining fire covered fists on her face. One more blow should end it.
Preparing to finish the fight Hera didn’t realise the smile on Daisha’s face. Only paying attention to pummelling her face, she didn’t see Daisha’s floundering arms approach her waist. Idiot!
Creating two orbs of light on her hands, two sword lights shot out and impaled themselves deep into Hera’s waist. “You lose.” With that said Daisha covered her fist in a golden flame and planted it into Hera pained face.
After she fell to the ground Kira called the match “Winner Daisha.”
“What did you think?” talking to Lyla, Daelos issued a question.
“She’s quite talented.”
“Is that it?” unsatisfied with her answer Daelos pressed on.
“What do you want me to say? She didn’t reveal enough for me to give her a full evaluation.”
Covering her burnt and bruised face golden light radiated out of her palms. When she removed her hands, her burnt face was completely healed.
“I guess that’s what they call holy light.” Looking at her with some interest Daelos couldn’t help but find that light interesting from a scientific point of view. No wonder she didn’t try to dodge.
After removing Hera from the courtyard Kira called out the next match up. “Rhina vs Altun.”
Like the previous match, both competitors made their way to their starting positions.
“BEGIN” hearing Kira’s roar Rhina’s battle intent surged.
Covering the soles of her feet in dense flames Rhina shot out faster than anyone could see. Arriving before Altun, she pulled her arm back and drove a flame covered fist towards his face. Creating a shield out of ice Altun took several steps back thinking he’d blocked her punch. I managed to stop it!!
*CRACK!*
Huh
*SHATTER*
Tearing through Altun’s ice shield, Rhina’s fist once more aimed to strike his face. SHIT!
The force behind her fist caused several bones in his face to cave in before he was launched halfway across the courtyard. Looking at his body laying still in the distance Rhina mumbled to herself “weak.”
Seeing Altun unable to continue, Kira called the match “Winner Rhina.”
Returning to the rest of her classmates Rhina glared at Daelos in a provocative manner.
Ignoring her glare, Daelos once more consulted with Lyla.
“Thoughts?”
“She’s more of a threat compared to that Daisha girl.”
“That much if obvious. I don’t think Daisha would be able to stand after receiving a blow like that.”
“Feeling the heat?” Lyla asked in a mocking manner.
“Hah if anything I want to fight her even more.”
“Hmph fool.”
“Veral vs Daelos.” Hearing his name being called Daelos headed towards his position.
Standing opposite to him a purple haired elf boy sneered at him. “Don’t think just because your on good terms with Killer Kira that I’ll go easy on you.”
I really need to know how she got that title.
“Begin.” Kira’s yell echoed in the air.
“At least try to last longer than a minute.” Daelos laughed before roaring and charging the purple haired boy. Seeing the human run towards him a trace of seriousness flashed across Veral’s face. Summoning a ball of fire bigger than the one Egon had used during the entrance exam, Veral threw it at Daelos hoping to incinerate him. Turn to ashes.
“Hahaha that’s the stuff!” The heat radiating off the raging ball of inferno only caused his blood to flow even faster. After three months of Kira’s abuse Daelos couldn’t help but laugh at the prospect of venting out all his pent up aggression.
“Don’t disappoint me.” Stomping his foot on the ground, Daelos’s figure vanished and appeared in front of dumbfounded Veral. Raising his hand to the sky Daelos covered his palm in razor sharp wind and slapped down at a speed that would leave people whiplashed.
*SLASH*
Veral’s eyes trembled as he tried to form a defensive earth barrier. However, all of this was in vain because his barrier was torn to pieces after making contact with Daelos’s palm, causing all the clothes he wore to tear apart as his tendons were cut like pieces of string.
Everyone except for Kira was shocked! If Rhina did what Daelos just did, then it’d been seen as natural, after all she was an elf! But a human who did not even know his own elemental affinity three months ago used a single palm strike to not only overpower an elf but to not give the opponent the slightest chance to retaliate was practically unheard of in modern society.
“Winner Daelos.”
Amongst the remaining three elves only Rhina seemed relieved at Veral’s loss. Since you were picked by Kira you only have the right to lose to me.
Looking at Veral’s body everyone still able to fight could see the numerous cuts covering his body. The most noticeable one would have to be the huge gash across his eye.
“After boasting so much you only amounted to this? Wow your disappointing.”
Walking away from Veral’s wound infested body Daelos joined the last 3 elves able to fight as he waited for the next match to begin.”
“Daisha vs Windrel.”
So I’m fighting Rhina next? Should be fun!!
