The speed at which they were falling was increasing at an alarming rate. Even with their evolved bodies, such a fall could prove to be fatal, especially for the twins.
Gorn’s heart started to beat faster, and faster. There was little room for panic, things were already dangerously enough. Focusing, he cast aside all the negative possible outcomes, and tried to find a solution.
His shadow ability was still working, seemingly not that affected by the unknown threat. Gorn grabbed the twins, then extended his shadow towards the ground, as fast, and as far away as possible. He was planning on using it to allow himself to take hold of something, and reduce their falling speed. The plan was simple and very effective, however, there was a major problem.
‘Where is the ground?!’
Gorn’s head was in a real mess right now. In addition to the restraint on his energy, there was another troublesome effect. He was lightheaded, almost as he just finished a liver killing drinking session. Furthermore, his body started to spin in the air, making it impossible to tell what was where. Thankfully, he took a hold of the twins at the start, before his body started to spin like crazy. Otherwise, finding their location could prove to be troublesome as well.
Having half the physical prowess as him, Mara and Nora’s chances of survival were half of his. Needing to make a decision in a short time, and under stressful conditions, was not easy at all.
While his shadow ability was very dependable, it wasn’t invincible by any means. Since the fall was very chaotic, and his mind dizzy, his initial strategy needed to change. Being low on time, Gorn decided to tightly hold onto the twins, and envelope all of them with his shadow.

Soon, their bodies could no longer be seen. Now, if someone looked, they could only see a big, black ball falling from the skies. Gorn tried to make the shadow have the constitution of rubber, not too hard, and also not too soft. Alas, his ability to control it had a certain limit.
Bang!
The black sphere hit the ground fiercely. Due to its structure, and due to the fact that the ground wasn’t flat, it bounced and spun, trashing everything in its path.
Ultimately, it stopped.
The twins and Gorn’s condition was unknown. After quite some time, the shadow retracted, exposing those inside.
They were still alive.
“Anything broken?” Gorn’s voice was clear, but silent at the same time. He was carefully looking around for any threats. Trying to get up, he took one step, then fell down, hitting the ground with his face.
“Fu…” he wanted to curse, but stopped mid-way.
“We…are fine…”
In the next second, both the twins started to throw up to the side. Judging from their clothes, this was not the first time throwing up during that endeavor. Gorn was at his limit, hearing and seeing them puke was a little too much even for him. Turning his head to the side, he started to puke as well.
After a few minutes of puking their stomach out, the lasses stopped, and so did Gorn.
‘Fuck, what is going on?’
His initial thought that made him want to leave was that these mushrooms might be poisonous. Unfortunately, he let his guard down, thinking that there were no real threats on the island, and thinking that the distance, and their sturdy bodies were enough.
Apparently, he was wrong.
‘If only I had enough gold to buy that level three healing potion.’ Unfortunately, he did not. With his current funds, he could only buy the level two potions. There was no mention that they could cure poison in their description, however, they might still have some effect.
