“I’m glad to hear that. It is still early in the morning, so feel free to rest some more if you want,” said Gorn whilst looking at both of them. With these words, he walked away a few dozen of meters, and stopped at the edge of the branch.
Looking down, he didn’t see anything unusual. The ground was hundred of meters away, making it a little difficult to not feel a cold chill down one’s spine. This, however, wasn’t the case anymore for Gorn. He got over his natural fear of heights a long time ago. It was only normal, taking into account all his special abilities.
‘So… If I find an opponent with a power level of one thousand, and no skills, I should be able to achieve a total victory. Fifteen slots multiplied by one thousand is fifteen thousand gold. If a week has one hundred and sixty-eight hours, that means roughly seventeen sessions of farming per week. In other words, I’ll be able to farm approximately two hundred and fifty-five thousand gold a week.’
Monsters, or people with no skills, were the most efficient targets for farming gold. ‘Speaking of which, I’ll have to enter the auto farming system and see how things work.’ Logically thinking, it shouldn’t be anything too fancy, but it had to be checked nonetheless.
Rebeca, and Elisa saw him deep in thought, and decided not to bother him. ‘Shit, now what?’ thought Rebeca, seeing that Elisa was in no mood for small talk, or anything else for that matter. “I’ll go change my clothes, and do some morning exercises.” With those words she made herself scarce. ‘Something must have happened… Fuck it, I don’t even want to know anymore.’ Remembering what happened last time she was overly curious, she decided to drop her nosiness. It wasn’t easy, but surely it was the best choice.
Elisa ignored her, and walked away in another direction, admiring the majestic, and gigantic tree branches that extended in every direction. Her expression made it a little hard to figure out what was on her mind. That didn’t even matter, for no one was currently looking at her anyway.
‘Since I have no use anymore for the blue spotted deer, I should find another suitable opponent. Should I go for farming gold, or should I go after that durability skill?’
While skills were important, raw power was not to be underestimated either. ‘With my current power, and equipment I should be able to acquire that durability skill. Then again, if its level is not high enough, I doubt it will be very useful against a strong opponent.’
Pondering over the issue for a few minutes, Gorn decided that it would be best, and most efficient, to first upgrade his raw power. Of course, there were exceptions as well. His stealth skill was a good example of that. However, there were a few conditions in these cases as well.
‘Then it’s decided, farm gold, and improve my raw power. In the meantime, I should also check the system, and scout a little in the direction of that floating island. Completing the system mission by using the falling boulder strategy is also worth a try…’
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Even if his attack skills were not that high in level, if he used more energy, they would automatically become stronger, and more effective. This wasn’t the case for all the skills, but his fire manipulation ability allowed him to increase the power by inserting more energy.
Using his immense inventory to store huge boulders, and drop them on the heads of the mature reapers could be a quick way for extra gold. While that sounded nice, it had its drawbacks as well. For example, the resulting noise of such an action could possibly draw towards him unwanted attention.
For these kinds of reasons, caution, and decent preparations were almost mandatory.
‘There is also the issue with my shadow, and that strange dream, or whatever it is…’
After making this small plan, Gorn felt much better. Looking backwards, he saw Rebeca doing some stretching exercises, and Elisa quietly admiring the surroundings. As for the rest, they were probably still sleeping.
Laying on his back, he took a quick nap. One hour later, everyone was already outside. This time, no one disturbed him. Slowly getting up, Gorn made some preparations, and started to unhurriedly cook some boar meat.
The girls immediately noticed the delightful smell. “Come, breakfast is ready!” said Gorn, inviting them to join him. In a few short moments, they were already next to him.
“Good morning!” said Lora, looking straight into his eyes, almost like wanting to find out what was he thinking.
“Good morning indeed! Did you sleep well?”
“Yes, this was the first good sleep I had in the past month or so.” The same thing could be said about Amelia and Emma as well.
“Happy to hear that. Here, take a bite.” Gorn gave her a piece of juicy, and tasty looking meat. He did the same with the others as well.
Everyone ate in silence, the atmosphere becoming a little weird. Even Ella was unusually quiet. ‘I’ve got quite the team right here,’ thought Gorn after glancing at the people around him.
Every single one of them were beautiful, and attractive women. Elisa and Amelia were at the top, but the others weren’t that far away either. The only exception was Rebeca. While she wasn’t ugly, her looks were nothing much when compared with the others. Although the same thing could not be said about her striking body shapes, which were on par with the rest of them.
“I have a few plans for today. Not sure how long it will take, but I’m planning to return by tonight regardless,” said Gorn in a normal tone. This kind of thing was to be expected, so no one looked too surprised.
Amelia wasn’t that happy about this, but she didn’t dare to express or show her dissatisfaction. Staying with the rest while he was away wasn’t going to be the best of experiences. It was clear that, up to this point, they didn’t have much in common.
“I was thinking about bringing someone with me,” added Gorn.
“Me! Take me! I want to go!” jumped Ella from the side, not leaving any room for the others to say even a single word.
Her reaction made him chuckle: “Roger that, now calm down.” Ella reluctantly stopped pressing the issue. It was, anyway, sufficient of a reaction to prove her point.
“If I may ask, what are your plans for this journey?” inquired Rebeca, not being able to hold in her curiosity this time. No one complained about her question, after all, they were also curious about this.
“Nothing much, I just want to find something. It shouldn’t be anything too dangerous.”
‘Find what?!’ thought Rebeca, trying her best not to ask a few more questions.
“Find what?” asked Ella without any worries, making Rebeca very pleased.
“If you come, you will naturally find out.”
“Ok, let’s go then!”
Gorn laughed: “Nice try right there.”
