33: Ungovernable Thoughts

Dungeon ran out of strong monsters while fighting delvers. They entered dungeon and explored only to kill everything before leaving.

But dungeon doesn’t mind. It can replace monsters, or grow more. What dungeon is very happy about is how full it is after the fight. Delvers made so much mana that dungeon stole it made dungeon even smarter.

Not only is dungeon smarter, but it is better at traps. Siphon trap was good at stealing mana from spell, but it fed it to grass and not dungeon. Grass within domain is now stronger, but dungeon wanted more food.

If dungeon wants to eat all the mana it can it needs to make better traps to lure more delvers. Grass was able to steal from trap, so maybe it can be made into a trap? That way dungeon could grow bait for delvers.

Grass has lots of mana in it, so maybe it can evolve? Dont want more moss, but to evolve like siphon trap. Just need to force evolution.

> Unable to evolve. Maximum number of subspecies reached, please increase understanding before proceeding.

Useless words are mad that dungeon made a lot of things out of grass without making grass stronger. Grass good at eating mana unlike mushroom and moss, so dungeon needs to evolve grass. But first dungeon needs better knowledge?

But the dungeon is really good at thinking!

Fine, useless words won't let dungeon just evolve with mana. Will need a better way to evolve. Will need something new for plants… hmm, need to go find monster that is master of plants. Shimmer!!!

“Busy”

No, Shimmer, dungeon need plants to grow, but like, smarter growing. For knowledge stuff.

“Friends left, so working on present for when they return. I’m growing plants as a gift for them.”

Shimmer is growing plants for… people? Why would people want plants? The delvers did collect grass, so maybe they like it? Do they eat the grass like the monsters do? Do delvers eat?!?? Dungeon is very confused.

> Understanding Increased: Farming - growing edible plants on purpose.

Growing food on purpose is a thing? Why didn’t delvers think of this? Coming into dungeon to kill and eat grass. This works for dungeon, as now it can attract delvers with bait. It just needs more traps, because delvers like those as rewards.

Sage grass is already good at eating mana, like siphon trap. So maybe it can evolve into trap by eating more mana? Dungeon just had a good idea. If ants made spell siphon traps then they can make plant siphon traps. Dungeon is great at thinking.

Ant graveyard! Bunch of dead ants wrapped in cocoon of magic silk. Great idea to grow grass there. Wait, already mushrooms growing… what if… can dungeon make the two grow together? Kill mushroom to make grass undead

> I dont like where this is going…

> Answer: No, plants can not become undead. However, increased knowledge on the application of plants has increased maximum capacity.

> Sage Grass adaptation available:

* Frost Flax - A strain of fibrous crop accustomed to the frigid climate as it absorbs ambient heat to keep itself warm, or to explode. Uncommon, result of ant colony.

* Mystical Berry - A small shrub of thorns and purple flowers. Its berries absorb local mana to imbue its eater with energy. Rare, result of affinity.

* Hungry Mushroom - With wooden teeth this ambush predator cares not where its meal comes from so long as it can feast upon its prey’s mana. Will eat enemies and allies alike. Uncommon, result of… “personality”

Dungeon wants to pick something strong… Doesn’t want to fight mushroom for food, and bush will take mana away from dungeon. Frost flax is like temperature siphon trap, which makes it a trap. Dungeon will pick frost trap plant!

Huh… Suddenly it's very quiet.

Much better. Now dungeon can think without being bothered. What was dungeon up to again? Oh yeah, growing new plant and spreading it. It’s slower to grow than other plants, but stronger. Will need better slimes to help it grow.

Hmm, if looping mana streams into slimes didn’t work, maybe it can go to spawner and apply mana to that? But with annoying words not talking anymore dungeon won't have any choices to pick from… Oh well, dungeon will try anyway.

Cauldron is full of aphid amber. The annoying voice called it anarchy amber and it upgraded slime, so maybe if dungeon loops dense slime mana into amber it can upgrade into even better slime?

Then it just needs to wait… for voice… to

Oh yeah, Without voice dungeon doesn’t know if it worked. Hmm… well there is now a new slime monster, its darker and more orange-y than others. Is it stronger? Spell slimes glow faintly, but this one doesn’t. Maybe its weaker?

New amber slime approaches new tree monster. Maybe it is good with plants like Shimmer? Dungeon watches as amber slime hugs the sapling and sudden movement as the tree stabs slime and drinks it up. Dark amber pours from the bark of the tree.

Tree ate slime.

The tree has extra mana in it after its meal. Amber slime was fuzzy and weird, but now tree is full of that mana. Voice called it… anarchy amber, so maybe its anarchy slime? Did dungeon just create anarchy tree without the help of annoying system voice??

Dungeon is all knowing and all powerful!!

Without annoying voice it created new monsters and upgraded them! New trap-plant-monster is able to move and hunt!!

Also… the dungeon feels smarter. Did creating monster without voice make it smarter?

Without voice to make sure, dungeon has to do it itself.

“Dungeon Intelligence Increased by…. A lot. Yup, the dungeon is super smart now.”

Why do several slimes look orange?
