Vol 3: Chap 10: Moving Forward

This is the first of the last 4 chapters, so stay tuned cuz I will be uploading them soon!

----------------------------------------

Next day, after school and studying at home, I dived in again.

My next fight was with the boss [Rocky] again. I didn't really want another [Massive Mace] as dual wielding something like that was impossible for me, but my SP was dangerously low so I had to quit. In fact, I wanted to make it to the 14th floor's safe room so I could obtain a new item.

"Well, nothing I can do about it now." (Me)

I resolved myself and entered the room of the 13th floor's boss.

"There it is again. Haah, lets get this over with." (Me)

As the boss started running, I jumped up high and swung the mace at its head, bringing an end to the fight with a single hit.

One-Hit  MP 4000

Charge a single attack for 2 seconds to deal +800% damage.

And I just obtained a new skill. And as I read its description......

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!!!!! I OFFICIALLY HAVE A MOST POWERFUL SKILL!!!!!!

This skill was the most awesome I had seen yet. And I can imagine how rare it must be to obtain this. Even for me, who practically one-hits every monster to come across it just now! And the effects! Oh. My. God!

The damage wasn't 800%! It was PLUS 800%! That meant 9 times the damage! If I use this skill with my STR at 2000, and considering the +600 STR from the [Massive Mace], the damage is equivalent to 23400 STR!!!!!!!!!

OH. MY. GOD!

I think I'm in love.

.

It took me a while to overcome the feeling and look for the boss's item.

Surprising it was NOT another [Massive Mace].

(Oh yeah, that was the 12th floor best item.)

I remember that I actually obtained the mace from the [Doom Poodle].

"Appraise."

Heavy Totus Armor

This Armor was crafted for the most powerful person in the world but the person refused to wear it for its weight.

Effects:

Block damage upto 10% of the wearer's.

AGI -5%

It was a good item but I wasn't going to wear it either for the simple reason that the reduction in agility was a percentage and not a fixed value. That meant that the more I increased my AGI, the more the effects be reduced. If I wear it right now, my SP would drop from 42000, to 39900. It was a penalty in thousands! 2100, to be exact. Well, the armor was still pretty good as it absorbed a lot of damage. Maybe I could use it for tough battles only. The reduction was equivalent to 200 STR for the current me. Actually, I doubt that such reduction would matter in a fight which I find troublesome.

Anyways, moving on to the next floors.

I made my way to the 14th floor and fought my way through hordes of skeletons. The ones here came in groups of a maximum of 6. The archers at the back were the ones I found the most annoying so those went down first. Then any skeleton soldiers. And lastly the mages. The Magic attacks were slow and real easy to dodge. Even though they did major damage, it was at max about 1% of my total HP. It was enough to regenerate in the interval before the next battle. The attacks didn't hurt much anyway, so it was all well and go.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

Steadily, I reached the 14th floor boss room.

As I entered, I came across the similar boss room. Most of the boss rooms were made identical with very few changes. This one was pretty normal with the big size, countable number of pillars and the weird light sourcing.

Catenip   LVL 180

This boss was remarkably different from the previous few in that it was small, and round, and white. Well, sort of white. My foe this time was some sort of ball of light. Or maybe its better to call it an orb of light? Ah, who cares?

I don't know how but I somehow realise that its preparing to launch an attack. Seriously, I have no idea how! I mean, its not like it can take a stance or anything. Its just floating there about a metre above the ground, a bit wobbly.

Suddenly, it rushed towards me.

(Fast!)

It was easy to tell that it was a completely speed based monster unlike its predecessor [Rocky].

I dodged to the left and let the boss fly by. Thankfully, it flew in a straight line.

It stopped at a distance from me and got ready to charge again. Again, I have no idea how I know that.

This time though, I prepared the mace in a swinging manner. I held it up and behind me like a baseball bat.

(Wait for it...)

(Just a bit more...)

(Almost there...)

(Now!)

I swung the mace as I imagined the incoming boss as a ball.

*BAM*

A huge sound reverberated. But the sound wasn't from me hitting the boss. It was from the boss hitting the wall in the distance.

The boss flew so fast after my hit that it crashed the wall in less than a second and that noise overlapped with the sound of my swing.

(I really should have not done that.)

Now I would have to go find the item drop in a mountain of debris.

(Haah...)

"Maybe I shouldn't care? Its obviously not going to be another best item and knowing my luck, I'll just get another [Fairy Underwear]." (Me)

I said to myself.

But the possibility exists. And when there's possibility, there's hope. And when there's hope...... I don't know what comes next in the series.

I went and rummaged through the pile of debris to find what I was looking for.

Kitchen Knife

Effects:

Easier to chop vegetables.

Ah... There goes my hopes... There... Look up! There! In the sky, its flying away.... Never to come back... I feel so lonely....

*sigh*

Whatever. Lets move on, shall we?
