Zero stood his ground as the two men charged at him, their attacks calculated and relentless. He deftly wielded his sword, using it to slow down his speed and maintain some distance. However, the duo closed in on him once again, prompting Zero to respond with a powerful wave of lightning that demolished the surrounding area. The force of his attack sent them flying back, creating an opening for Zero to reassess the situation.
"BOLT STYLE: STORM CANNON!" Zero called out, launching a powerful lightning barrage that overwhelmed his adversaries. Seizing the moment, he considered returning to Dasu and the nurse, Ana, when he was suddenly hit by a massive wave of fire. The fire attack combined with a gust of wind, creating a tornado of flames that engulfed Zero.
As the tornado subsided, Zero emerged slightly burned but still standing. The two attackers were frustrated, unable to comprehend how Zero managed to survive their assault.
"Darn it! Why won't you just die?" the wind user muttered.
With a determined look in his eyes, Zero retorted, "This is over."
In a flash of speed, Zero appeared next to the wind user and beheaded him. The fire user retaliated with a powerful blast, further burning Zero, but it only served to increase his resolve. Zero swiftly dispatched the fire user as well, causing the latter to detonate his own body in a massive explosion that damaged a portion of the town.
Coughing from the aftermath of the explosion, Zero noticed his burned clothing and body, but he pushed through the pain. His priority was to find Dasu and the nurse. He rushed back to where the battle was taking place, arriving just as the fight ended.
"So, what took ya so long?" Dasu teased when he spotted Zero.
"It was 2 on 1, and the last guy tried to take me with him, but as you can see, I survived!" Zero replied with a smirk.
Suddenly, they were interrupted by a menacing voice. "So this is where you were hiding, boy!"
Zero turned to find Abbadon, the formidable foe who had knocked him across town earlier.
"Shit!" Zero cursed under his breath.
Dasu asked, "Zero, you know this guy?"
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Zero confirmed, "Yeah, he's the one who knocked me across town when I found you earlier."
Abbadon's menacing smile widened. "Well, let's see how you fare this time!"
Abbadon launched a barrage of dark spears and swords at them, but they managed to hold their ground.
"I'd rather deal with you myself, boy!" Abbadon declared, creating a clone of himself to deal with Dasu and Victoria.
Zero and Abbadon engaged in a fierce aerial battle, clashing and launching attacks that created powerful explosions. Meanwhile, Dasu and Victoria fought their respective opponents, struggling to keep up with their relentless attacks.
As the hours passed, exhaustion began to take its toll on them. Victoria's mana was nearly depleted, Dasu's body started to show signs of frostbite, and Zero's injuries grew more severe. Nevertheless, they fought on, knowing they had to protect each other and the town.
Abbadon's clone vanished, and Abbadon regarded them with disappointment. "I thought you would be a worthy opponent, but it would seem I thought wrong and overestimated your potential."
Victoria realized they were running out of time and made a quick decision. "I'll heal you both and give you a blessing for a boost. I don't know if it'll be enough, but we gotta try!"
Zero and Dasu nodded in agreement, and Victoria partially healed them both while granting them her blessing.
Together, they charged up all the power they could muster, creating a giant barrier with dual axes crossed on a giant sword called "Divine Fortress." The barrier clashed against Abbadon's massive attack called "Black Meteor."
Straining under the immense pressure, Zero and Dasu felt their bodies reaching their limits. Determined to protect everyone they held dear, they pushed themselves to the brink. The barrier started to crack and shrink, but they refused to give in.
Desperate to turn the tide, Dasu began to drain his own life force to boost his strength, and Zero's body became adorned with glowing red markings as he tapped into every ounce of power he had.
The screams of exertion echoed through the air as they poured their very souls into the barrier. At last, the barrier shattered, and the explosion engulfed the area, causing significant damage to the town.
When the smoke cleared, Abbadon was unharmed, but Zero was barely standing. Victoria and Dasu were nowhere to be found.
"It would seem while you survived, they perished. What a pity that they were too weak to handle such a weak attack," Abbadon mocked.
Rage and grief consumed Zero as he desperately called out for his friends. "Dasu! Victoria! Where are you?"
Unable to find them, Zero fell to the ground, defeated and heartbroken. Abbadon took his leave, acknowledging Zero's potential but leaving him to grieve in the aftermath of the devastating battle.
As the dark red markings slowly covered Zero's body, he refused to give up. With his last remaining strength, he charged at Abbadon in a desperate attempt to kill him. But Abbadon easily countered his attack, impaling Zero's chest and leaving him to suffer.
A curse began to overtake Zero's body, causing it to change. Abbadon acknowledged Zero's incredible potential but warned him that he would survive the curse only if he was strong enough. Then, Abbadon flew away, leaving Zero alone and broken in the crater of destruction.
