Zero's eyes fluttered open as he slowly regained consciousness in the infirmary. Despite his recent injuries, he was surprised by the lack of pain and a newfound strength coursing through him.
"My body doesn't hurt as much as it should, and it feels stronger," Zero remarked, voicing his observations.
Hera, a fellow guild member, walked into the room and instantly enveloped him in a tight hug. "You're finally awake! I was so worried," she said with a mixture of relief and concern.
"Thanks, Hera, but you're crushing me," Zero managed to reply humorously.
Hera's worry quickly turned to frustration as she asked, "What the hell were you doing to get those injuries?"
Zero sheepishly explained, "Me and Dasu fought an ogre and won, but we got really hurt in an explosion!"
Hera's exasperation was evident as she retorted, "An ogre?! Damn it, Zero, why didn't you run?"
With a hint of determination in his voice, Zero responded, "Well, I wanted to fight it."
"Sigh, alright, look, just don't die on me, alright?" Hera pleaded, expressing her concern.
"Mhm, promise!" Zero reassured her.
Hera finally relented and suggested that he should leave the guild house to recover properly. Zero bid her farewell and headed out. As he stepped onto the street, he spotted Dasu walking nearby.
"Hey man, how ya holding up?" Zero called out to his friend.
Dasu replied, "Oh, I'm pretty good after resting. My body heals faster than others, so I'm okay."
"Alright then, I'm gonna go. I gotta do something. Bye!" Zero said before parting ways with Dasu.
Zero made his way to the forest. While walking, he encountered a wyvern that leaped at him, attempting to attack. With swift precision, he sliced the creature in half, showing off his combat prowess.
"What the hell, a wyvern this close to the entrance? Shit, more are coming!" Zero observed, spotting ten smaller wyverns emerging from the forest.
Zero readied himself for the incoming attack. As the wyverns charged, he leaped back and slammed his fist into the ground, releasing a wave of lightning that temporarily stunned the creatures. Taking advantage of the opportunity, he conjured fifteen lightning orbs the size of baseballs and launched them at the wyverns, causing a series of explosions that wiped them out.
Sighing at the ease of the battle, Zero muttered, "Well, I thought that was gonna be harder. You know what, let's take these bodies back to the guild house and sell them. I guess I'll also keep some to get some armor made."
Utilizing his lightning manipulation, Zero fashioned a large platform to carry the wyvern bodies. He was eager to earn some money to improve his abilities further.
With the bodies in tow, Zero made his way back to the guild house. There, he met Hera, who seemed astonished by the number of wyvern bodies he had.
"Hey Zero, so what are you here for again?" Hera asked curiously.
"I got some wyverns I killed. I want to sell their bodies," Zero explained.
Hera couldn't help but be impressed. "Wait, there are about 11 bodies there. Just how strong did you get after gaining that ability?" she wondered aloud.
Deciding on how many to sell, Zero replied, "I want to sell about 8 of them. How much will that get me?"
Hera calculated, "Alright, that's about 48k here."
"Thanks, Hera!" Zero expressed his gratitude for her help.
Determined to make the most of the money, Zero had plans to purchase new armor and skill books. He bid Hera farewell and headed to a nearby blacksmith to get his armor made.
Inside the blacksmith hut, Zero greeted the large, tanned, bearded man named Tyrone Mercury. "Hello, uncle. I need you to make me something," Zero requested.
Tyrone introduced himself, "Tyrone Mercury at your service, boy. What can I get for ya?"
"I need some armor for myself. Gauntlets, leggings, and a chestplate, right?" Zero specified.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"That's right. If I'm using those 3 wyvern bodies you got, it'll take me about 2 days to get it all done," Tyrone informed him.
Curious about the price, Zero inquired, "Alright, how much is it?"
Tyrone considered it and said, "It would be about 30k, but I'll get it down to about 10k if you let me keep the remaining body parts."
"Deal!" Zero agreed, happy to save some money in the process.
Tyrone assured him, "Alright, you can come back when the armor is finished in 2 days!"
Excited about his impending new armor, Zero left the blacksmith hut and proceeded to the skill tome store. There, he browsed the selection until he found two skills he desired.
"Hey, how much are Blast Step and Harden?" Zero inquired with interest.
The clerk responded, "25k for both."
"All right, that's a deal. Thank you, Mr. Clerk!" Zero said with satisfaction, making the purchase.
As he walked through the town, Zero decided to return to the forest to practice his skills. Using Blast Step, he moved with great speed through the trees until he reached a giant rock.
"All right, let's try it out. Harden!" Zero exclaimed, testing his newfound ability.
He felt his skin become harder than before. To further test it, he struck the rock with a one-inch punch, causing it to crumble apart.
As he stood there, contemplating his skills, Zero suddenly sensed movement behind him in the bushes. Reacting instinctively, he demanded, "Come out now!"
Emerging from the bushes, Dasu appeared with a playful grin. "Jeez, man, is that how you greet someone?"
Zero couldn't help but smirk. "Well, dude, don't go sneaking up on me, then I might've killed you!"
Dasu chuckled. "Oh, please. You can't beat me, dude."
"Let's not do that. So why did you follow me here?" Zero asked, curious about Dasu's intentions.
"Well, remember what we said during our fight with that ogre?" Dasu reminded him.
Zero pondered for a moment before replying, "Don't remember."
"You owed me a drink. Wanna go to the tavern and order some food?" Dasu suggested.
Zero agreed, "Oh, sure. I'm pretty hungry, to be honest."
The two friends left the forest and headed to the tavern. As they entered, they were greeted by a familiar face.
"Hey, Angel!" Zero greeted the tavern's owner.
Angel smiled at him. "Nice to see you, Zero. So, who's your friend?"
"This is Dasu. Can we get a table, please? We're starving!" Zero explained.
"Sure, what do you want to order?" Angel asked, always ready to serve.
Dasu quickly ordered, "I'll have one chicken, two burgers, and also two steaks."
Zero's order was predictably larger. "Yeah, I want the large meat special with extra sauces and two large garlic steak bite meals with ranch."
Angel couldn't help but chuckle at Zero's appetite. "Jesus, are you sure you're actually human? No way in hell you're finishing that, but fuck it, I wanna see if you can!"
With their orders placed, Dasu and Zero waited at the table. As the food arrived, Dasu began eating, but his eyes widened as he watched Zero consume his meal like a ravenous beast.
"Damn, I'm full right now. Can't eat anymore," Dasu admitted, astonished by Zero's capacity to eat.
Zero chuckled. "Man, can we get some dessert?"
Dasu couldn't believe his friend's appetite. "You can't be for real?"
Zero relented, saying, "Alright, fine, let's just pay the bill and go to sleep for the day."
They summoned the waitress and settled the bill. Before leaving, Zero discreetly asked, "Hey, how much would it cost to fix that wall?"
The waitress whispered back, "It would be about 100, as we have a guy who can fix stone and wood easily."
"Alright, thank you," Zero replied with a nod, now prepared to take action.
As Dasu and Zero headed out, Zero noticed something behind them and instinctively turned around, seeing a teen wyvern rushing toward them. Reacting quickly, he blocked the creature's bite with his greatsword, knocking it away.
In a split second, Zero activated his lightning form and dashed at top speed to cut the wyvern's side. The creature swiped at him, but Zero gracefully dodged the attack and retaliated with a lethal strike, stabbing it through the head.
"Huff, huff. I won, but now it's time to find Mom and Dad," Zero muttered determinedly.
Rushing through the town, Zero searched for his parents. However, as he arrived at his home, a chilling sight awaited him—his father was lying dead, and his mother lay unconscious against a broken wall.
"Mom, Dad!" Zero cried out in anguish.
In the blink of an eye, an explosion knocked Zero through the air, sending him crashing into several buildings.
"Who are you?!" Zero yelled angrily at his attacker.
The unknown fighter revealed himself as Rue, a sadistic man who had taken delight in causing harm to Zero's family. Zero's eyes blazed with fury, and his body was enveloped in an intense aura of lightning.
Before Rue could utter another word, Zero unleashed a devastating attack, obliterating the villain's head with a beam of lightning. Rage and sorrow boiled within Zero as he confronted the grim reality of his family's fate.
With determination burning in his heart, Zero sensed a high-level threat approaching the town. He leaped into the air, rushing to the battlefield, where Hera and Emerald were locked in combat with an imposing opponent.
"Hera! Emerald!" Zero called out as he rushed to their aid.
The trio of guild members stood together, preparing for an intense battle. But before they could fight together, Zero insisted that his friends leave to call for help from the knights.
"You two are too tired. You should leave," Zero urged, determined to protect his friends.
Hera and Emerald hesitated but finally relented, rushing to seek help from the knights.
Alone now, Zero faced the formidable Abbadon, who had wreaked havoc in the town. The battle was fierce, and the air was filled with explosions as their powerful attacks clashed.
As Zero and Abbadon exchanged blows, the town suffered the consequences of their intense battle. Buildings crumbled, and the ground shook beneath them.
Finally, Zero unleashed his Bolt Style: Lightning Charge, surrounding his entire body in a massive aura of lightning. With electrifying speed, he clashed with Abbadon, creating a massive explosion that rocked the town.
Despite Zero's determination, Abbadon managed to overpower him, sending him flying across the town into a large building, causing it to collapse.
Struggling to stand, Zero spotted Dasu and a blond-haired woman locked in combat with a group of adversaries.
"This is your friend? Quit talking and fight!" Victoria called out to Dasu.
Determined to assist his friends, Zero unsheathed his greatsword and dashed towards them, ready to unleash his full power. The battle for the town had reached its climax, and the future hung in the balance as Zero prepared to face the impending threats.
