Chapter 104

A doctor put the scarf over his neck, covering his nose and mouth as he walked in the archway of Hilcastle. He desired to stretch his numb arms towards a flambeau burning in the passage. He knew there was no time for it so he pretended the cold did not exist and made his way to the door of Ser Angus' chamber.

The doctor knocked on the door. Even the normal task dusted snow from his woolen sleeve. He wanted to speak but was helpless infront of his rigid tongue so he kept knocks continuous.

Ser Angus came out of the room with a quill and glanced at the man whom he did not remember he had seen the last time. Doctor stood near the torch as much as he could.

"I am writing to our spy near Nastria." Ser Angus said.

"By the blessing of Mighty Wutke, our lord has graced Hilcastle again."

"Lord Wernh'An has arrived?"

Tired man nodded.

Angus dropped the quill, which he had made from feathers in his room, and dashed his way past the doctor.

"Ser, our lord is in no condition to see anyone."

"You think I am a visitor?" Angus barked.

"He wouldn’t be able to tell."

"Why?"

Ser Angus realized the man was looking at his face. His eyes, to be precise. Doctor spread one flap of his robe, showing Angus surgical equipments strapped to the cloth.

"I hope you have a pot of boiling water in your chamber." Doctor said.
