He rode for the entire morning for killing the temptation inside him. A mile near from Rudolph’s house, Saer stopped at a stable which he had been overlooking since last two days. Though the stable was not meant for the horses of travelers, he went to talk with the man collecting horse excreta as manure for his crops.
“Is this your property, ser?” Saer spoke from his horse.
“Aye.” She said and got back to his work.
“Can you look at my horse for few hours?”
“You don’t look like you are from Winstrova.” Stableman said.
“I migrated here from Azmra with my mother when I was a kid.”
“See.” Stableman left his shovel, “I would have looked after your horse if this was a normal day.”
“What makes today abnormal?” Saer questioned.
“Special. Correcting you.” Stableman sighed, “Alright. You can tie your horse here. But I am not responsible if your horse gets stolen.”
“What’s the problem with letting my horse inside the stable? I assure you he is healthy.”
“You are talking about taking your horse back in few hours. I will be in Vorr till sundown. I can’t give you my keys, can I?”
Saer dismounted his horse and gave the rope to him, “Okay. Tie him here.”
Stableman took the horse behind the wooden house. Saer followed him to the place where he decided to tie the horse.
“What is so special today in Vorr?” Saer asked.
“As a Winstrovian you should not be asking this question.”
“I come to Avena just once or twice a year.”
“You also are going for the market, I assume.” Stableman said, “It is also safe to keep your horse there.”
Saer didn’t utter anything
“Didn’t you come to Avena for it?” Stableman tilted his head.
“No.”
“Alright.” Stableman made a knot and pulled it to check its strength.
