Mutai arrived in town late at night, out of breath. He had spent the last two hour running as fast as he could, afraid of the sounds of wolves.
The forest, though peaceful during the day, certainly took on a much more feral coat once the sun came down.
When heading to the city, he had logged out when it was dark, but feeling a bit more confident in himself, thought he could be brave enough to keep moving.
Mutai found out that trying to be brave was almost never the smartest idea. He walked into the only inn in town and settled in.
Because of the large amounts of quests he had done in town and his appearance of obviously being spooked, the innkeeper took pitty and gave Mutai a free night.

The next day, he reported to the mayor's office.
The receptionist Mary was happy to see him.
"Oh, Mutai! Your back! How was your trip out of town?"
"Nothing too exciting, is Jinroe in?"
"Yes he's in his office."
The mayor was shifting through his desk.
"Where did I put that..... there! *cough, cough* Ah Mutai, great to see you! I've got your money right here!"
Quest reward: 1 gold recieved
"Anything new happen while I was gone?"
The mayor's face darkened.
"We had some adventures come into town... With you around, I almost forgot how ungrateful they can sometimes be.
Luckily I shood them off with a goblin cave I keep around just for these situations."
"???? Keep around???"
"Yes, some monsters arn't actually a threat to the town's safety. But, they often are in the way of future developement.
So, I leave them around so that when I need to the town expanded I can send adventures off to deal with them.
Don't want any locals dying if it's not neccessary.... Oh crap!"
The mayor made an exagurated forehead smack.
"I forgot to lay a claim down on that cave!"
"Lay a claim? "
"Yes, if we don't lay a claim, the golbins tend to re-invade the area..... Mutai, would you be so kind as to take this claim and place it near the cave?"

Thus Mutai headed to the cave after buying some food and talking to baker Kaiylin once again.

Mutai's journey through the forest took him 2 hours. In that time he ran away from a tree snake, a wolf, a bear cub, and a goblin.
Adventure, it seems, was drawn towards adventurers whether they wanted it or not. When Mutai reached the cave he placed down the flag in front.
*ding ding ding*
Claim banner has been placed. The area in question: Kirklin's "Dangerous" Goblin Cave must be cleared of monsters in the next 24 hours.
If the cave is not cleared, the flag must be removed and cannot be used for a period of 1 week.

Mutai was not expecting this to happen. Seriously.... defend the flag? Why were the waves so spread out? Although the worst part was.... he had to stay the whole 24 hours.
He sat down next to the flag and began waiting.

Hours passed.... Mutai had been trying to meditate for a while. He had heard it had something to do with harmonizing with nature.
Since he was from the city, he had no experience with doing so until he started playing Astera. He reached for the feeling he had when walking to and from the city.

Next wave in 00:00 hours
Mutai stood up and started stretching. A pair of golbins came out of the woods, heading strait for him.
The golbins that arrive were, in one word, shabby. They held stone spears, the heads very shabby, sloppily held onto stubby branchs by lazily made string.
Mutai was glad that golbins at least seemed capable of making loincloths.
They approached on thin, short, green legs screaming with mouths of sharp teeth staring with with large eyes and black irises.
This was Mutai's first fight. The first thing he saw was the starkly contrasting "LvL 5 Golbin" over their heads. The first thing he thought about was running.
Every part of him wanted to run, just start sprinting back to town.
He was just playing this game to have some fun, running in fresh air. He never really had the intention of fighting.
He only learned fighting skills because the Mayor asked him to.
Ahh.... there it was....
He was getting payed. This was a job. Suddenly, it seemed so clear to him. Like the day a high-school student realized how shitted their job was and how easy it was to replace them.
If he ran now, where could he get work? Everyone in town would know he failed the Mayor. All the people he had come to know would know he was a coward.
In that moment, Mutai became an unskilled, non-unionized worker.
Mutai stood, looking strait at the golbins, trying to figure out a plan. They were about 10 meters away. He noticed one of them was coming at him faster.
*I need to pick one to fight first*
He sprinted for the faster one. The golbins started screaming louder, spewing saliva from their mouths.
Right as they were within combat distance, Mutai had an extremely stupid idea. Using all of his momentum, he drop kicked the faster golbin in the chest.

The golbin was very suprised and flew back 2 meters before falling on is back. The other one, swung and completely missed, falling a meter in front of Mutai who was lying on the ground, in slight pain.

Mutai quickly rolled to his right side and got up. He then started kicking the slower golbin in the kidney area before it could recover.

He noticed the faster golbin picking itself up and decided to go for the kill! A kick to the throat!

The faster golbin, now more than a little terrified, ran away.
Mutai had gotten his shoes covered in blood.
*That was fucking terrifiying.*
It felt rather surreal. The panic of loosing his job had left and he was beginning to muse on the past minute.....

Next wave in 12:00
Mutai was brought out of his gloom. He sighed heavily. In the end..... it was a game. The golbin's corpse disapeared into light motes, which flew into his body.

After some thought, Mutai decided it was very likely that a greater number of enemies would be in the second wave. He would need to choose between speed or strength to dodge and run quicker or kill enemies faster respectively.

In the end, he was still a bit cowardly.

Mutai finaly found himself in a bit of natural harmony. The fight against the Golbins had showed him that he had been trying to hard to be peaceful and wasn't focusing on the wildness around him.

It seems the fast golbin had brought 3 more friends.
Golbin LVL 4, Golbin LVL 5, Golbin LVL 3, Golbin LVL 8. The Level 8 golbin had an actual iron shortsword, but was otherwise just as pudgy.
Once again Mutai stood up and once again the Golbins ran at him. Except the LVL 8 , who seemed to think he was some kind of leader and stood at the back imitating some kind of heroic guard captain in pose.
If Mutai had been watching as a bystandard, it would have looked rather funny. Instead he took the leader seriously. He decided that based on his last encounter if he killed the LVL 8 the rest would run away panicing.
Once again, he ran strait at the golbins only this time, when they reached each other, he jumped into the air above them, finishing with a dive roll, before booking it for the leader.
The leader wasn't expecting this, but quickely prepared himself to fight Mutai. The leader goblin made a large vertical slash at Mutai, aiming straight for his head.
Mutai dodged the sword while circling over to the golbins back where be instantly kick vicously into the groin of the golbin.

The leader golbin howled and collapsed onto the floor, while Mutai quickly began kicking the Golbins Sword-hand.

Mutai grabbed the sword and looked at the other goblins, who looked slightly afraid.
He waved the sword around, then threw it into the woods, motioning for the golbins to leave.
Unfortunately for the LVL8 golbin, he was not some human guard-captain, whose soldiers would valiently fight to save him.
The other golbins left and Mutai curb stomped the leader to death.

Action! Excitement! Some part of me wants to give myself a review, 3/5 stars. That is what I'm aiming for and I'd like everyone to know it. But, I've heard some stuff happened over the past week, so doing that, even as a joke, is probably a bad idea.
