A dim blue glow came from the lights in the room, giving off shadows. Large tubes lined the walls of the cold steel room. One tube, in particular, was lit, glowing cyan, frost covered the small window on the tank.
A beeping sound came from the tube and it began to open. Puffs of mist gushed out and spilled onto the floor and Kaladin stumbled out of the cryo pod, naked and cold.
“It has been a long time, old friend.” a deep rumbling voice said to the figure. “I do not wake you to reminisce, however. Once again they have been found but this time I will not stand by idle.”

Kaladin, naked and cold, grunted as he stood and all the past events flooded through his mind. The destruction of Xer and Kligira. Yvlana, Fel, and Lamir’s death. Malik’s conversation and cutting off Mulguran’s arm. All of it washed over him in an instant.
Looking up at Felkuru, Kal let him look into his mind and see everything from the past weeks.
His friend froze, unmoving for a long moment as he viewed the past events. “Malik has finally made his move,” Fel whispered. If Felkuru could smile, Kal knew he was doing so now. “I… that wasn’t what I was expecting.” his voice was genuinely confused and surprised. “But I told you so.”
“Yes.” Kaladin chuckled in spite of himself. “You did tell me.”
“What do we do now?” Felkuru asked.
“We’ll have little time and a lot of work to do.” Kaladin Valhorn said. “But we can save everyone.”
