A few hours had gone by since Linyer left. Foin was sitting on his bed and was just blankly looking ahead. He felt that the effect of the skill had worn off, so he once again felt slightly nervous.
However, the fact that the skill activated automatically made him think. Maybe he could activate that skill by himself as well, just as he did with Cutting Edge. In just such a short span of time, he had gained many new things he needed to see, test, and experiment with.
Soon, his curiosity won, and he stood up from the bed. The first thing he did was look at the fur Linyer left behind. As he looked at them, he noticed that there were three larger pelts, which were larger than he was, and two that must have belonged to some smaller animals.
He also instantly put The two larger ones on the two larger beds, his and Gobu's, and then one of the smaller ones onto Énilo's.
The girls were enjoying the bath he had made, so now the main room was empty. Since he was most curious about his new plants and fruits, he started with that. He brought it out from his storage room a few times. Some extra logs, a few freshly made plates and an empty pot.
He started with the first one he had harvested, the huunt fruit, which looked like a nut. He pulled both out from his inventory and placed them on the plate. After grabbing one of them, Foin put it between both of his palms and then started slowly applying pressure to it.
He slowly started feeling that it started cracking despite not exerting too much of his power, and then he heard a slight cracking sound. As a result, he quickly stopped and looked at it. It had many tiny cracks on the surface and one larger through which he could see the inner portion of the fruit.
The inner side was somewhat orange-coloured but seemed nothing special. However, he noticed that on the plate, there was some sort of black dust, which he believed had fallen off of the shell of the fruit. With heightened curiosity, Foin grabbed the fruit firmly, pressing his thumbs against the most damaged part, and once again tried to open it.

The shell suddenly split into two larger parts and some dust fell onto the plate below, and Foin could see the inner core better now. What surprised him most was the fact that he could easily break the outer shell, which seemed quite sturdy.
The core was squishy and soft and had no particular smell, so Foin just put the orange core onto the plate and then smelled the outer layer. It had a heavier, almost bad smell, but he couldn't recognise it.
"So it is most likely not the edible part... What could that orange ball be?"
He mumbled as he grabbed a stick, impaled the orange core with it, and then put it over the fire. It still had some tiny specks of the black dust, but Foin didn't care that much about it as it seemed to be such a small amount.
However, he couldn't have been more wrong about his assumption. As soon as he put the orange ball into the fire, that tiny speck of black at first started sparkling, then in mere moments, started burning with great black flame.
Foin instantly pulled back the item and started blowing at the fruit; although he couldn't extinguish the flame, he managed to blow the speck of black powder off, and now it was burning on the ground. Despite the miniscule size of the dust, it still burned quite well and produced considerable heat. It was even hotter than the bonfire in front of him.
Though the black flame lasted for a short while, Foin deduced that the black outer layer might be some sort of coal. So, before anything could go wrong, he pulled the plate further back and put the orange orb back near the flame of the campfire.
It was sizing and was slowly changing colour, from orange to a brownish golden colour, and while it transformed its colour, it slightly shrunk and started giving off a powerful and mouth-watering scent.
"MEAT?!"
Foin said with widened eyes. He couldn't believe the smell the orange orb was giving off. He quickly pulled it back and put it onto a fresh, empty plate to let it cool down.
With a swift movement, Foin pulled out a peteach from his inventory and opened it. Without hesitation, he dropped the fruit onto the ground, but he used the liquid to make a few knives; though they were quite dull and would most likely be quite difficult to use for cutting, he wanted to have them, as well as a few spoons and the hardest one was forks. He spent the most time with that; in fact, by the time he finished the last one, he could just barely form and mould the material.
As he got done with the utensils, he put most of them down next to the huunt dust and unopened fruit, but he kept one fork and knife. Now that he had something that smelled at least like meat, he wanted to eat with some culture and manner.
Despite the fact that he had just eaten not long ago, he couldn't help but want to taste this new food. As his mouth was watering, he carefully tried cutting the meat with his dull knife, which was so soft that he could cut with ease.
He took the first bite, and the taste was amazing, although it could use some seasoning. It tasted like chicken and was so soft that Foin ate up the whole portion in a few short moments and then rubbed his stomach.
As he looked at the plate with the outer layer and the other fruit, he could only lick his mouth and wanted to eat that as well, but he managed to fight down the urge and put the fruit back into his inventory.
