"So, Kraven could become a Personal Disciple to a Core Elder one that's said to have a high chance of attaining the Martial Saint realm and becoming a Grand Elder," Jason said to James through voice transmission while testing their batch of disciples.
"It's not a done deal, you and I both know how difficult the last test is and it gets harder if you have previous trauma which from his outburst while fighting that slave he has an incredible amount of," James responded trying to be the reasonable one, but down he thought Kraven could do it.
"One more pressing thing though is that if he does it, you lose the bet," Jason said with a big grin while looking at James.
"Oh shut up you got lucky like always," James said very annoyed clearly he had not won a bet in a very long time.
"If Kraven can do it being a friend to him will be worth way more than 300 spirit stones," James said trying to lower the bet amount.
"Hey, it was 500, don't try and weasel out of this like you've done before," Jason shouted aloud startling the slaves.
"I've got no clue what you're talking about, Next," James said hurriedly shouting at the next slave to test to stop Jason's nagging, earning a laugh from Jason.
Walking toward the final test site the slaves were muttering in low spirits hoping that by begging Kraven they could be spared a life of slavery and torture, but one young girl knew that it was pointless, she had tried to tell them this but they refused to listen to her and even hurled insults and threats of violence at her, as she was the only one in the group that still had a chance to pass the tests so they were releasing their pent up anger and frustration onto her as the only other talented person in their group was Kraven and after what he had done to Todd they were only ever going to beg to be spared.
Claire tried to explain that begging that monster would have no effect as to him they were all nothing but insects things that he would stomp to death if they annoyed him, but her warnings had fallen onto deaf ears so she stopped trying and was only focused on herself and passing the test.
Kraven had been deep in thought the whole having been told that he had some super physique that made him a Fire Qi genius, it made Kraven think about what sort of expression his family would make if they found out.
"Of they'll find out eventually all right after I become Elder Silverstorm's disciple and make my name known in the sect, then later the world, I'll go and burn that entire city to the fucking ground," Kraven thought his emotions raging.
"Wait, Elder Silverstorm never mentioned what that first awakening thing was," Kraven thought remembering what the Elder had said but Dwayne's voice broke his concentration.
"EVERYONE LISTEN UP!!" Dwayne shouted to get everyone's attention but mainly Kraven as Dwayne could see that he was thinking hard about something.
This is the last test, I know many of you don't have enough stars to pass but that does not matter as anybody with 10-14 stars will be sent to a subordinate sect of our Starving Ghost Sect," Dwayne said giving the group of disheartened slaves a glimmer of hope knowing fine well that maybe 3 of them would get over 10 not including the monstrous Kraven.
"Settle down now I will explain the final test," Dwayne said quieting the slaves who had been given a second chance to escape slavery.
"You will all enter this formation, just like the first test you will be measured by how long you can stay in the formation, but this time you will have the
"As soon as you enter be ready, Enter now," Dwayne ordered.
Kraven eager as ever was the first to enter, but what greeted him was not a glowing formation, but that room in the house he had been held captive.
"Kraven dear do you mind coming downstairs please," a sickly sweet voice voice reached Kraven from downstairs, the voice transformed Kraven from the monstrous genius recognized by a Martial Emperor to the boy too scared to look the maids in the eyes for fear of being hit.
"That's not possible this isn't real, I...I... I was being tested to join a powerful sect I took the first steps toward my revenge I can't be back here I can't be," Kraven fell to the floor feeling like he was going to be sick and pass out Kraven didn't know what to do, but he took his time and regained his composure still breathing shakily Kraven headed toward the voice.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"Kraven sweety don't keep me waiting please," the sickly sweet voice belonged to Maria a maid that Kraven hated the most because despite her sweet voice she was a massive sadist who delighted in carving Kraven's skin in ways that were sure to leave a horrible scar, over half the scars on Kraven's body were her fault alone.
"Kraven you seem to have changed so much despite me not seeing you for so long come hug me," Maria said.
This was her favourite line she would make Kraven hug her and then cut him from shoulder to shoulder, but Kraven who hadn't fully recovered from the mental shock walked up to hug her but just as he was about to he felt something he had never felt before this weird feeling like he knew she wanted to kill him, Kraven coming to his senses reacts by quickly ducking to avoid the knife she tried to cut him with.
"Kraven why did avoid that I wanted to give you a gift," she said with a hideously perverted smile betraying her sweet voice.
"What like all the other gifts you've given me the countless scars on my body, fuck you bitch I'm not the same sniveling coward I was back when!!," as Kraven said this his vision blackened and he awoke to a different scene from his childhood except this time he was a spectator and could not interfere.
"Okay, to solve the argument whoever can break more of Kraven's ribs in one hit will get the toy I brought back for you okay," the person speaking was not a maid but the oldest daughter of the Evergreen family, Tracey Evergreen who despite being over 100 year's old was using breaking Kraven's ribs as a way to settle who would get a toy she had brought from her sect when visiting the family.
"Okay," the triplets shouted readily agreeing to their older sister's terms.
First to go was Coltan Evergreen he took a stance from basic training provided by the family and launched a kick that shattered 10 of Kraven's ribs, Kraven would have fallen to the floor had he not been restrained by Tracey's Qi, Tracey walked over to Kraven and feed him a pill that would fix his ribs but the pain would be just as bad as them being broken, Kraven was about to scream but Tracy covered his mouth with Qi to shut him up.
Next was Carmen who broke 9, then Curtis who broke 11, each time Kraven was fed a pill and had to endure the pain of his ribs healing which was just as painful as them breaking, but after Curtis had won Tracey pulled out 3 identical toys.
"Oh I guess I had enough after all oh well nobody was hurt and you all had fun competing, you three go ahead there is something I have to do first," Tracey said ignoring Kraven vomiting blood from the healing process, after the triplets left Tracey walked to Kraven squirming on the floor from pain.
"That's what you get for killing my mother you little monster, for some odd reason Father wants to keep you around but I would just kill you and get it over with, oh well you'll die eventually anyway, goodbye monster," Tracey said using her Qi to break Kraven's newly healed ribs once more before leaving.
The real Kraven was standing watching all of this unfold having to relive a very painful and traumatic memory for him but instead of breaking down this made Kraven feel more driven to get his revenge.
"Just you wait Tracey I'm going to kill you and those three useless bastards," Kraven said feeling filled with a directed rage a rage that would fuel his journey to revenge. Just as Kraven felt his vision darken again thinking he was going to be sent to another memory of his past he was in fact outside of the formation.
Kraven looked at his surroundings only to see Dwayne staring at him.
"Fuck did I do badly," Kraven thought to himself, thinking he had just lost the chance of a lifetime with Elder Silverstorm.
"Kraven 10 stars," Dwayne said with a shocked look on his face that he had been unable to hide.
Dwayne's words struck Kraven like lightning, then a familiar voice sounded from the entrance tunnel.
"Another perfect score, you've got to be joking Dwayne, right," The voice belonged to Jason who was escorting his group for the final test.
"Kraven lasted the full time inside the test, he has passed with 27 stars, a near-perfect score," Dwayne said assuring Jason that what he said was the truth.
Hearing this Kraven fell to his Knees, now knowing he had passed both the sect tests and Elder Silverstorm's test Kraven felt a huge weight lifted off of him, taking the time to look around he didn't see anybody except the young girl Claire.
"Where's everybody else," Kraven asked purely out of curiosity.
"They didn't get at least 10 stars so they are being taken to the slave area, on the other hand, she got 12 stars so she's going to a subordinate sect," Dwayne answered.
"So what happens now then," Kraven asked not even looking at the girl which she was incredibly thankful for as she probably would have collapsed.
"Well now we wait till every group is done then we will go to the main sect and this year's top scorer will be crowned out of the several thousand disciples that will be entering the sect," Dwayne answered.
"My money's on you winning that Kraven," Jason quickly added.
"Are there any benefits to getting the top score," Kraven asked.
"Yes, there is, the top 10 get to enter the sect as 1st-grade outer disciples and get to choose a Mid-Tier Body Tempering Martial Art, the Top 5 get to choose a High-Tier Body Tempering Martial Art, First place gets to enter the sect as an Outer Sect Prodigy and get to choose a Peak-Tier Body Tempering Martial Art, so, all in all, it's very helpful," Said Elder Silverstorm walking out of the void.
"You sure do like to appear like that don't you master," Kraven pointed out that whenever his master appeared it was always the same way.
"Indeed I do my youngest disciple," Elder Silverstorm said while laughing, which in turn made Kraven laugh but made everyone else very uncomfortable as one wrong word from Kraven and everyone in the room was dead.
"I'll take Kraven to the main sect there are still a few more groups to be tested, and I want to talk to my disciple. Elder Silverstorm said not giving anyone a chance to say anything they both disappeared.
"Well, I guess you lost the bet badly huh James," Jason said with a large smile looking at James who had an annoyed look on his face.
