Chapter 12 Preparation For Seclusion

Chapter 12 Preparation For Seclusion

Kraven walked but his attention was drawn to a dispute between older disciples.

"Gael you bastard I swore the last time you disrespected me that I would kill you," a disciple spoke in a quiet but ferocious tone.

"Disrespect, are you sure I was disrespecting you and not you disrespecting yourself, locking yourself away and being a recluse will naturally lead to rumors about you," the lanky blonde-haired disciple said dismissively.

"Please stop with the bullshit you think I don't know that you're scared of the results of my seclusion," the disciple said in a mocking tone.

"Harry, you peasant bastard if you say another lie I will tell this to my father and you can not handle his attention," Gael said bringing up his trump card, his father, who had been a member of the sect for over a thousand.

"You think I'm scared of your father!" the man now revealed to be called Harry shouted.

"You sure as shit should be, he could kill you with a thought," Gael said secretly worried why mentioning his father hadn't worked like it had every other time.

"You're wondering why I'm not scared, right, well let me tell you, I've gotten myself a master," Harry said with a vicious smile.

The colour drained from Gael's face as he processed what was said.

"That's right a master and since only elders can officially take disciples you know what that means right," Harry said his smile deepening.

"Martial Soul realm," Gael squeaked out.

"Martial King realm," Harry said smiling so wide it should hurt.

"An Inner Elder values a waste like you, over someone talented like me," Gael said his anger erupting despite how meek he was previously.

"Please, you've been in the sect for 5 years now and you're only at the 2nd layer of a Mid-Tier Technique, if that's talented then I must be a monstrous prodigy," Harry laughed at his rage.

"You're only at the 2nd layer of a High-Tier Technique," Geal was about to continue but was interrupted.

"3rd layer," Harry said.

"You mean you're a," Gael said before being interrupted again.

"A High-Tier Body Tempering 9th stage," Harry said exuding an aura of superiority.

"That can't be even my father said that becoming a High-Tier was extremely difficult and that I," Gael said before being interrupted for a third time.

"Stop the babbling and draw your sword," Harry said exuding a Killing intent.

Taking a breath to steel himself Gael drew his sword about 40 inches from tip to handle bladed on both sides and emitted a cold shine, Harry drew his weapon which looked to be an identical sword likely bought from the same blacksmith on the sect.

Gael launched himself at Harry with enough force to damage the floor where he was standing raising his sword to his chest, tip pointing to Harry clearly preparing to stab, but this was incredibly obvious to Harry as the man quickly moved to the left avoiding the stab and responded with a downward slash that nearly cut of Gael's sword hand.

"Fuck you, you little bastard I'll kill you!!" Gael shouted as he barely avoided losing his hand. Feeling the rage consume him he used his last resort.

"!!" Gael screamed as the whites of his eyes turned black and his skin turned a deep red as the Blood Qi in his body moved far faster than his veins could handle causing some to burst.

"You crazy bastard, even if I did threaten your life isn't this too much," Harry said shocked he would go so far in this battle.

"If I'm going to die I'm dragging you to the underworld with me," Gael said through gritted teeth as the pain of his Secret Art was extraordinary.

Harry realising the danger he was in didn't hold back and used his strongest attack a High-Tier sword art believing despite the fact he was only at the Expert level it could quickly deal a fatal blow.

Harry launched his first attack attempting to kill Gael in one strike, Unfortunately for him, the newly empowered Gael quickly dodged the attack moving far faster than he possibly could have before the Secret art took effect, Gael attacked the arm that Harry was holding his sword in with a swift slash filled with pure rage, managing to injure him Gael did not let up and continued his assault, it was becoming more and more obvious that Harry had only just started practicing the as he was moving in an odd way that affected the efficiency of his defence and what ultimately cost him his arm.

"YOU BASTARD YOU CUT MY ARM OFF, I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU NEXT TIME!!!" Harry screamed as he began to flee.

"There won't be a next time I'm already past the time limit I'll die in the next minute so I'm taking you with me," Gael said in a grave tone understanding that no matter what happens next he was dead.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

"" Gael said as he began to move much faster charging towards the fleeing Harry catching up to him quickly as Harry could not think well enough to use a Movement Art.

As he was knocked to the ground by the chasing Gael, he tried in a vain attempt to slash him with his sword but his arm and sword were swiftly kicked away leaving him on his back bleeding out and panicking.

"Please, I don't want to die please," Harry begged for his life crying.

"Me either," Gael said quietly as he plunged his sword into Harry's heart, as soon as he did he vomited blood and the light left their eyes at the same time.

The disciples who had been watching the fight made a move and attempted to take their storage rings, some even stole the corpses.

Kraven walked in deep contemplation thinking about the events he had just witnessed.

Kraven arrived at the Library Pavilion walked to the tablet and tapped the peak Technique Token to activate it.

Looking through the thousands of Saber Arts Kraven chose the the book appeared in his hand before being quickly put in his storage ring, Kraven still had the High-Tier Technique Token but was wondering what he lacked which made him think of the fight he had just witnessed.

"If that guy had been faster he could have escaped," Kraven thought realising that speed was an important factor he could not neglect for chasing or retreating it was indispensable.

"Let's look for the that the other guy used," Kraven said while he entered the name.

Charging Rhino Movement Art(High) Cost: 50 Points

[Channel the power of a Charging Rhino to chase your enemy with reckless abandon for your body as you slam into them to cause damage to them as you catch them] (Can only go in a straight line/Excels at chasing a fleeing enemy)

After reading the description, it was clear that it could have been more effective at keeping up with individuals who possess advanced movement arts. Its requirement for a sturdy body indicated that it synergized well with the .

"I'll get it if I need a more complex movement art in the future I'll just buy one," Kraven said as he exchanged the token for the movement art and put it in his storage ring.

Kraven walked out of the pavilion and was about to walk back to his house but remembered a piece of advice James gave him.

"If you're going to start seclusion training go to the Hoarding Ghost Building and tell them, they will give you your yearly resources all in one so you can completely focus on seclusion," Kraven remembered James saying as he headed for the Hoarding Ghost building.

"You've barely been here a full day and you're going into seclusion already?" The deacon behind the desk questioned the logic of Kraven.

"Yeah, I am what's it got to do with you," Kraven asked annoyed that he was being doubted.

"Nothing of course it's just most of the new disciples are making groups or joining existing ones making connections to help them in their cultivation, if I were you I'd find a group and join them to make sure that none of the stronger disciples think of hurting you." The deacon continued before stopping as Kraven walked over to a different deacon and asked for his resources.

"Of course sir here you are 12 bottles of body tempering pills each containing four pills they are effective for 3 days but only take 1 a week as pill impurities can quickly build up and cause damage, also I can tell that you have not redeemed your free weapon would you like to redeem that now and if so what weapon would you like," The second far less chatty deacon said.

"Yes, a saber," Kraven said.

"Okay, sir give me one moment," The deacon said as she went and got a standard-issue saber for Kraven and handed it to him. The saber was about 50 inches long from handle to tip nearly as tall as Kraven himself with one sharp edge, looking at the weapon made Kraven think what was the difference between swords and sabers except one being heavier and the other having two edges.

"Here is the Ogre's Blood Essence that you will need to complete the 1st layer of your technique, also 2 bottles of healing pills and the basic necessities pack which includes basic hygiene products, that's all sir if you need anything else I'm afraid you will have to exchange points for it," The deacon said.

"You were much more helpful than he was," Kraven said looking at the deacon that he had first talked to while walking away.

"Hey, Lily why were you so respectful to that little brat, he's going into seclusion straight away without finding a senior disciple to defend him for the strong disciples of his group," The first deacon said.

"That's why you're always beaten up, John, that kid you told to go hide and find someone strong is the Outer Sect Prodigy of his group and the Personal disciple of a Martial Emperor, people are probably hoping to suck up to him for protection not the other way around," The deacon called Lily said in a mocking tone.

"A MARTIAL EMPEROR, WHAT ONE!!" John shouted in surprise.

"Elder Silverstorm, the man that everyone is treating as a guaranteed Martial Saint is his master," Lily said quietly delivering a bombshell.

"Elder Silverstorm the main contributor in the war for the Agoran Plains," John said quietly.

"Yes, yes the war that you won't stop talking about," Lily said annoyed at herself for mentioning Johns's obsession.

"You don't understand my great-great-grandfather fought in that battle and he even...," John continued telling Lily the same thing he had told her and anybody that would listen, despite the fact she had clearly blocked him out.

"GOD DAMN IT, THESE FUCKING IDIOTS WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE!!" Kraven shouted slamming the doors to his training yard, annoyed that the less talented disciples kept coming up to him begging him to either join their faction or to join his, and even after he had explained that he had no faction they continued to beg.

The banging on the door and the shouting were driving Kraven mad he had no idea how he was going to cultivate in peace, and then he rembered that he could control the formation that covered his house with the panel in the corner it even had a seclusion mode that cut off all outside stimulation to provide complete silence, which to Kraven was a blessed relief.

"Thank god I can hear myself think," Kraven said blissfully.

"Now time to think of a plan for my cultivation, I'll completely focus on cultivation technique and if I have time left after completing the 1st layer I'll move on to martial arts," Kraven said nodding his head.

Kraven having gotten all of his resources and used all his technique tokens sat down and began his seclusion.
