Gold and Nico are sitting inside the Adventurers guild.

Gold: We are safe here. The princess can't come here.

Nico: Why?

Gold: For security reasons. Her guards won't bring her here.

Nico: So what's next?

Gold: First we will eat! Hey over here! Ben!

Ben: Hey! Gold where have you been? There are rumours about you fighting at the tornament.

Gold: Forget all that. Bring me every dessert you have and whatever this guy wants.

Nico: I will just have some meat.

Ben: Sure! Right away.

Nico: You are just gonna eat desserts? Have you already eaten?

Gold: I come here often, he will bring the usual along with the desserts.

Nico: Oh.

Ben brings the food.

Gold picks up the jug and drinks all of it instantly. But then Gold starts to look sick and quickly stuffs his mouth with all the desserts.

Nico: I see why he ordered so many desserts. But why does he even drink that? And why is there no meat?

Ben: Because he is a vegetarian.

Nico: A vegetarian? But he is an adventurer! And how did he get so strong without eating meat.

Gold: I can talk to animals. So it feels weird to eat meat of something i understand. It's like I am eating a human.

Nico:(He is scaring me now)

Gold: So what is it Nico? what are you looking for?

Nico: I dunno.

Gold: Nice! We can work with that.

Nico: I don't know what it is but it's something that my grandfather found. My grandfather was a collector. He collects and records rare artifacts and treasure. When he was young he was exploring a rune looking for something valuable and he found it. He found a wooden doll and brought it home.

Gold: The wooden doll was valueable?

Nico: It was just a normal wooden doll. At first my grandfather was disappointed with it. But one day he accidentally broke the doll but he saw something inside it, it was shining very brightly. When my grandfather split the doll completely to take that thing his eyes got permanently blinded by its shine. He still tried to grab that thing in his hands and when he did he could feel it vibrating very fast. He couldn't hold onto it and it fell and then he heard a voice around him that he had never heard before.

That voice said: So you have found it! Guess I will have to hide it again. It's your own fault for sticking your nose so much in other people's stuff, now stay blind for the rest of your life. Man I wish I could kill you but i am bounded by the laws.

Nico: Then that voice disappeared along with that thing. My grandfather had been blind since that day. He told everyone his story but no one believed in him. Even my mother didn't believe in him. I loved him very much since I was little, he got me interested in artifacts and treasures i decided I will become just like him and record my findings. Then one day when I was with him he suddenly felt a pain in his heart and fell down. There was no one in the house other than me, i rushed towards him. He was about to die! I started crying. But at that time his eyesight came back! He could see me now in his last moments! He had tears in his eyes and was very thankful that he can finally take a look at me. Then he closed his eyes and passed on. But that made me realise that his story was true! His eyesight was taken away by that thing he found. I made a promise to my grandfather that I will find that thing and prove everyone that it's real for him and for my personal interest in finding treasures.

Gold: How old are you?

Nico: 13

Gold: That's alot of burden on someone so young. But then atleast you are not fighting monster at that age.

Nico: You were fighting monsters when you were 13?

Gold: Yeah. All right Nico I will help you look for it. Do have any clues about it?

Nico: No I don't.

Gold: Then what were you gonna do to find it?

Nico: Become an adventurer and explore dungeons and runes and hidden places.

Gold: So you would have just wasted your time had you not met me.

Nico: I hate to admit it but it's true.

Gold: Works me for me. You are gonna be with me from now on. But you must also contribute to this team.

Nico: I will! All my knowledge and my grandfathers records will help you in your adventures.

Gold: I think I have formed a party! Let's register it.

Nico: You can't form a party with just two people! You need atleast 3.

Gold: So what are we then?

Nico: We are just working together. But I still have to register myself.

Gold: Let's go then.

Nico registers himself.

Receptionist: Congratulations you are an adventurer now. Your rank will be E.

Nico: I have become an adventurer!

Gold: E rank huh! You are to far behind Nico.

Nico: What is your rank? Must be a B easily.

Receptionist: It's actually D rank.

Receptionist: We do! Its just he never shows up when we are assigning new ranks. So officially he is a D rank. Even that is because we gave him D rank as his first rank.

Gold: But they give me A rank quests to complete.

Receptionist: Unofficially we consider him to be close to be an A rank.

Nico: A rank!

Gold: Are there any new quests for me?

Receptionist: Yes! There are two and one of them is very important.

Gold: Fine! What are they?

Receptionist: For the first quest you have to go to a village that has reported about a monster showing up near it.

Gold: Sure! But i have to drop Nico to a inn first.

Gold and Nico walk out of the guild.

Gold: Let's head to the village! As fast as we can!

Gold: No. I don't want get involved with her. She is crazy.

Nico: But how are we gonna go? She didn't tell us where the village is. And she didn't assign us the quest yet.

Gold: They have to assign you a quest?

Nico: How do you not know about this? Just how much lenient is that girl on you! She spoils you!

Gold: So I have to go and meet her tonight?

Nico: Yes! Now that I am with you, you can't do things like before or i will get in trouble Because of you!

Gold and Nico go to inn.
