Chapter 200: Cuddle

Elora and Melanor appeared in the room as they saw their daughters on the couch trying to keep Reiki pinned down. Enora was lying on the couch on her back with her arms around Reiki’s neck as she put him in a headlock, she said. “Stay still!” Reiki’s head was in between her large chest as Moranor was holding a comb with her right hand and a sandwich with her left whilst chewing, he said. “This has to break some kind of interspecies law!” Elora turned her head toward Melanor and said. “Am I seeing this right?”

Enora let out a frustrated sigh as she glared at Moranor and spoke with a hint of annoyance. Enora said. “Mora, your either eat or help me comb his hair!” Melanor couldn’t move her eyes away from the three, she said. “You mean our daughter’s desperately trying to comb Reiki’s hair?” Moranor ate the rest of the sandwich in one go as she grabbed the bottom half of his face with her left hand and moved the comb closer to Reiki’s hair. Elora nodded as she moved her gaze back onto the three, she said. “Honey, don’t tell me this is all you’ve done in the last two hours?”

Enora turned her head sideways as she gave her mother a smile, she said. “Hey, mom. We did nothing but catch up and right now, in the middle of combing his hair.” Reiki tried to stretch his neck back as far as possible as the comb was approaching his hair, he said. “Mora, we can talk about this.” Moranor pointed at her mouth that was chewing using the comb, with one swift motion she placed the comb on his hair and tried to comb it. Melanor turned her head and saw the trolly and noticed the large plastic jar of peanut butter, she said. “Is that peanut cream?”

The bridge of her nose slightly wrinkled as the comb in Reiki’s hair was stuck, he said. “Ow! Mora, don’t force it!” Enora tried to keep his head still as she tightened the headlock as she glanced at Melanor and said. “It’s called peanut butter and it’s supposed to be good.” Elora managed to move her eyes from the three and onto the trolly, she said. “Supposed to be?” Enora grabbed the top of Reiki's head and his chin using her hands, she said. “I haven’t tried it yet, but Mora loved it.”

Elora and Melanor made their way to the trolly. Melanor picked up the jar of peanut butter as she stared at the label she couldn’t read, she said. “This isn’t Japanese.” Moranor managed to pry the comb off his hair as a few strands of it stuck to it, she swallowed a mouthful of bread and said. “Stop being a child and man up.” Reiki had a deadpan expression as he spoke in a flat tone, he said. “One, I am a child, and two-.” Moranor rolled her eyes at him as she went back to combing his hair.

Elora peeked at the design on the jar, she said. “It's English.” Reiki started using his foot to try and push Moranor off him as Enora wrapped her legs around his as she glanced at her mother from the corner of her eye and said. “The opened jar is raspberry jam and the untouched one is strawberry.” Elora picked up one of the spoons lying on the napkins on top of the trolly and passed it to Melanor. Reiki tried to make Moranor lose balance by tilting his body sideways.

Melanor took the spoon off Elora’s hands and said. “Why do I have to be the one to taste test it?” Elora gave her a sweet smile, she said. “Because that’s part of your job.” Moranor lost her center of balance as she grabbed the backrest of the couch with her left hand, she said. “Enora, if you’re gonna prevent him from moving at least do a decent job at it.” Melanor scooped some peanut butter using the spoon and tasted it as a delighted surprise appeared on her expression as she tried to feed Elora using the spoon that still had some peanut butter.

The corner of Enora’s lips curled into a lewd smile, she said. “It’s not my fault he keeps squirming.” Moranor stared at her in disbelief as her expression quickly turned into a glare. Enora let out a taunting chuckle and continued. “The longer we stay like this the better it is for me.” Moranor started aggressively combing Reiki’s as she ignored whatever he was saying. Elora opened her mouth as she let Melanor feed her as her brows raised in pleasant surprise, she said. “It’s good.” The two stared at each other and nodded in agreement as the mothers started making sandwiches.

Elora spread picked up the spoon in the jar of jam and started putting the spread on a slice of bread while Melanor took a plate from the second layer along with a glass. The two of them continued as they heard Reiki’s voice, he said. “If your daughters keep this up I’ll sue!” Elora placed a peanut butter and jam sandwich on the plate while Melanor poured the glass with milk. Melanor placed the lid back on and said. “Your majesty I just heard someone is going to sue our daughters.”

Elora picked up another slice of bread and started putting some spread on it, she spoke in a serious tone and said. “Sue? Then we have to give it a lot of thought and calculate the cost of the lawsuit.” Melanor picked up the sandwich on the plate while Elora placed the spoon back into the jar of raspberry jam. They heard Moranor speak which caught their attention, she said. “Done.” The two elves turned their head sideways and saw Moranor standing by the couch while Reiki’s unkempt and scraggly hair was mostly straightened out with a few bits still curling as he sat on the couch beside Enora.

Enora nodded in approval as she pats his shoulder, she said. “See, you look great.” She gestured at Reiki and moved her gaze onto Elora who was eating a sandwich. Enora continued. “Right, mom?” Elora gave her a nod as she enjoyed the uncomfortable expression on Reiki’s face as she reached for the glass of milk and took a sip. Melanor had a smile on her lips as she let out a chuckle, she said. “Nice work, hon.” Moranor had a proud smile on her lips as she grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled Reiki onto his own two feet.

Moranor placed a hand on top of his hair and tried to style it, she said. “Now, onto the fun part.” Enora stood up from the couch and tried to swat Moranor’s hand away from his hair. Elora gulped down a mouthful of food and whispered. “I say Reiki calls off the relationship.” Melanor who was in the middle of chewing almost spat out the food in her mouth as she managed to stop herself. Moranor moved her hand away from his hair as Enora hit the back of Reiki’s head.

Reiki rubbed the back of his head and gave Enora an annoyed look as she gave him a smile and said. “Sorry.” She moved her gaze onto Moranor and continued. “Don’t mess with his hair until we get the proper equipment for it.” Reiki had an odd look on his face from the unexpected answer Enora gave him, he said. “A comb isn’t proper equipment?” Enora playfully pinched his cheek and said. “At best it’s used to brush hair, for your case…” She glanced at the current state his hair was in as Enora continued. “You’ll need the whole treatment.”

Melanor swallowed as she held out her hand toward Elora as she passed her the glass of milk. Melanor took a sip out of it and said. “I doubt it. Reiki will let them play with his hair.” She took a bite of her sandwich while Reiki let out a sigh and raised an index finger, he said. “One tiny problem though.” Moranor raised a brow at him as she crossed her arms, she said. “What kind of problem?” Reiki’s hair suddenly curled making it even messier than before and more unkempt.

Enora stared at his hair while the corner of her lips curled into a slight frown, she said. “Oh…” She glanced at Moranor from the corner of her eye and continued. “We’re going to need a fair amount of time for that.” Elora waved a peanut butter and jam sandwich with a few bites taken out of it which got their attention, she said. “Can we watch?” She pointed the sandwich at Melanor who was enjoying her sandwich while holding onto a glass of milk in her other hand. Enora shook her head sideways and said. “I won’t mind since it’ll take a while.”

Moranor showed Reiki the comb as she was about to brush his hair again, he pointed at the two young elves and said. “If you two want to style my hair, we’ll do it my way.” Melanor gave Elora a smirk and said. “I win.” Melanor took a long sip of the milk as Elora glared at her from the corner of her eye, she said. “What a spineless coward.” She took a bite out of the sandwich while Enora and Moranor’s eyes lit up. Enora spoke with a hint of excitement in her tone, she said. “We can?”

Reiki swiped the comb from Moranor’s hands and continued. “All I need is a blow dryer. Scissors and braids are out of the question.” Moranor gave him smile, she said. “We can make do without cutting your hair. The braids on the other hand are up for grabs.” Melanor gently swirled the glass of milk in her hands, she said. “Reiki’s not a coward, he’s just letting them do as they please.” Reiki let out a chuckle and said. “Fine, I’ll warn you two in advance that I do not look good in braids.”

~Five Minutes Later~

Melanor and Elora were sitting on the couch eating. On the coffee table were the two large liters of milk in glass with one of them being half-empty, the two jars of ham, the plastic jar of peanut butter, and a few plates along with glasses. Elora took a bite out of her sandwich while Melanor stared at their two daughters who were blocking Reiki from her view. Melanor said. “What’s taking them so long?” Elora reached out and picked up the glass of milk as she took a sip, she said. “It’s only been five minutes.”

Moranor raised her hand that was holding the comb, she said. “Done.” She stepped to the side showing Reiki with straight hair that was neatly brushed. Enora let out a slightly tired sigh as she showed her hands that was constantly emitting a stream of hot stream, she said. “Took you long enough, I was about to break a sweat from the heat.” She shook her hands once as the steam stopped releasing from her hands. Reiki moved some hair to the side and said. “Thanks, I hate it.” Moranor poked the tip of his nose, she said. “I think you look great.”

Elora nodded in approval as she spoke in an amused tone and said. “It makes you look smarter.” Melanor took the glass of milk from Elora’s hand which got her a glare from her, Melanor said. “What happened to the braids?” Enora shook her head sideways and said. “He doesn’t have the face for it.” Melanor was about to take a sip of the milk as she let out a chuckle which stopped her. Reiki rolled his eyes and spoke in a bland tone, he said. “I’m sorry for having such a plain-looking face.”

Moranor tidied his hair using her hand, she said. “Don’t listen to the elf obsessed with looks, you look very fine by how I see it.” She coquettishly dragged her finger on her cheek as she let out a chuckle. Enora glared at Moranor from the corner of her eye as she spoke in a slightly sharp tone, she said. “I was only affirming the fact Reiki said braids don’t look good on him.” Moranor let out a scoff as she rolled her eyes at Enora and said. “Sure.” Reiki made his way to the couch while Elora and Melanor were enjoying the sandwiches, he said. “How’s the peanut butter?”

Elora pointed at him using the half-eaten sandwich in her hands, she said. “Where’d you buy it?” Reiki let out a sharp breath while Melanor took a sip of milk, he said. “Glad you like it.” He started making a sandwich and continued. “I asked someone to buy it for me abroad.” Moranor and Enora made their way to the couch as they sat beside their mothers. Reiki tried to hand the sandwich he made to Enora as she took it off her hands and took a bite. Her brows raised as she nodded in approval, Enora swallowed and said. “This is a lot better than peanut cream.”

Reiki quickly made another sandwich and passed it to Moranor to which she happily took it off his hands as she ate it while staring at him. Elora took the glass from Melanor’s hand as she took a sip and said. “Reiki, the souvenirs you asked for me are almost done.” Reiki gave her a nod as he made another sandwich using wheat bread, he said. “Can I ask for one last thing?” Melanor reached for a napkin on the coffee table as she wiped some jam on the corner of her lips.

Melanor said. “Reiki, we’ve talked about this. Our daughters aren’t things we can just give to you, they have to choose.” Enora gave him a smirk while chewing while Moranor lazily waved the sandwich in her hands that had a bite taken out of it and said. “That’s right, just because you’ve caught our interest now doesn’t mean it won’t change in the future.” Reiki had a straight expression on his face, he said. “Please, give your daughters to me? They’re already practically mine.” Moranor’s had a faint blush on her cheeks that reached to her pointy ears as she took a bite out of her sandwich.

The corner of Enora’s lips curled into a slight smile as she let out a scoff and took a bite of her sandwich to prevent a smile from forming on her face. Melanor stared at her daughter’s meek and shy reaction while Elora patted Enora’s shoulder in understanding. Elora said. “What is it?” Reiki intentionally added too much peanut butter on one side of the wheat bread, he said. “Can you get me an elegant two-sided dagger?”

Melanor stared at the unnatural amount of peanut butter he was putting on the bread and said. “You use a dagger?” Reiki placed the wheat bread with a large amount of peanut butter on the place as he placed the spoon into the jar of peanut butter and said. “It’s for my older sister.” He stared at the two jars of jam while Moranor quickly chewed in raised a finger which got his attention, she said. “The one on the left is strawberry and the right is raspberry.” Reiki felt Enora and Moranor’s gaze burn into him as he picked up another slice of wheat bread and covered half of it using both of the jams.

Enora faked a sigh and spoke under her breath, she said. “Typical.” Moranor pretended to frown as she didn’t even bother to whisper, she said. “What did I even expect.” Reiki placed the spoon back into the jar of raspberry, he said. “If I had it my way I would’ve only had peanut butter on my sandwich.” The two young elves' gaze wandered onto the plate with the slice of wheat bread with a copious amount of spread. He placed the slice of wheat bread with jam on top of the other slice placing the spread in between.

Elora thought for a moment and said. “I can easily get you a dagger, what’s your sister’s affinity?” All the elves moved their eyes onto him as Reiki took a bite out of the sandwich in his hands. Elora looked at him weirdly, she continued. “You do know what your sister’s affinity is, right?” He shook his head sideways as he gulped down a mouthful of food, Reiki said. “She never told me.” Melanor gave him an odd look and said. “You’ve lived in the same house with her and you don’t know something like this?”

Reiki pointed the sandwich at her and said. “Does it matter? All I asked for is a dagger.” Moranor brows furrowed, she said. “We can give her a dagger with a different affinity but chances are she’ll never be able to properly utilize it.” Elora shoved the half-eaten sandwich into Melanor’s mouth as her eyes widen as she was about to take a bite of her sandwich. Elora said. “Don’t worry, I have just the dagger for her.” Enora's eyes widened as she turned her head to look at her mother, she said. “Are you talking about?”

Melanor grabbed the sandwich Elora stuffed in her mouth as she took a bite out of it and held onto it. Moranor took the lid off one of the large glass liters of milk and poured herself a glass, she said. “Mom, want some milk?” Melanor nodded as her daughter passed her the glass while Elora lazily nodded her head and said. “Yep.” Enora had a conflicted expression on her face, she said. “Can we do that? It’s been in our family for-.” Elora let out a scoff and said. “All it does is rot in that box and remind me of those old fogies with their rules.”

Reiki took a bite out of the sandwich as he placed it on one of the empty plates and took the lid off the large liter of milk. Enora's tone instantly changed, she said. “In that case, he might as well have it.” Reiki poured himself a glass and took a sip while his gaze wandered onto the room, he swallowed and said. “Why is my painting here?” He pointed at the portrait of Enora hanged and framed on the wall using the glass of milk he was holding. Moranor let out a groan dripping with annoyance, she said. “I thought we moved on about that.”

Melanor let out a chuckle and said. “You’d be singing a different tune if it was a portrait of you.” Enora’s lips slowly curled into a smile as she glanced at the painting from the corner of her eye, she said. “Where else am I going to put it?” Elora let out a scoff as she playfully pinched her daughter’s cheek and said. “Yeah, you’re not that narcissistic.” Enora let out a nervous laugh, she said. “I-I’m not.” Elora stood up from the couch while holding a half-eaten sandwich, she said. “Nora, let’s go get the dagger.”

Enora placed her sandwich on the same plate Reiki used, she had a reluctant expression on her face and said. “Do I have to tag along? I only have a limited time with-.” Elora grabbed her daughter's hand as the two of them vanished from the room. Reiki placed his glass of milk on the coffee table as he wiped his mouth using the back of his hand, he said. “What kind of dagger are they planning on giving me?” Melanor had a mysterious smile on her lips, she said. “Beats me.”

Reiki moved his gaze onto Moranor and said. “Wanna lay down with me?” A faint blush appeared on Moranor’s cheeks as she took a bite out of the sandwich in her hands. Melanor raised a brow at him that was paired with an odd look and said. “I’m right here you know.” He moved his gaze onto her and said. “So? We’re not planning on doing anything else other than cuddle.” Moranor took small bites out of her sandwich while Melanor rolled her eyes at him and stood up from the couch and started making a sandwich.

Melanor said. “Fine, Mora doesn’t have the guts to do anything other than that.” she quickly made three sandwiches and continued. “Reiki, pour me a glass of milk.” He took the lid off and filled a glass, Reiki said. “I’m guessing that’s for Enrel.” He passed the glass to her as Melanor gave him a nod and said. “Yeah, she’s been buried in her research the moment money landed in her hands.” She let out a chuckle as she continued. “Someone has to make sure she’s still alive.” Reiki refilled his glass with more milk and said. “Tell her I said, hi.” Melanor placed the three sandwiches on a plate as she picked it up, she said. “I’ll let her know.”

She glanced at her blushing daughter who was meekly sitting on the couch while nibbling on her sandwich, Melanor continued. “Remember, he only said cuddling.” She vanished from the room leaving the two alone as Reiki made his way onto the couch and sat next to her and said. “You down to cuddle for a while?” The blush on Moranor’s face reached to her pointy ears as she shyly nodded.
