” Hey honey, I don’t feel good, and I was hoping that you could grab some dinner on your way home from work?” My wife called me and asked just as I was clocking out for the night. It was the middle of the night and only the streetlights illuminated the parking lot.
“Of course, babe, everything ok?” I answered as I fumbled my keys out of my pocket and click to unlock my car.
“Yea I’m fine, just have a headache and I’m feeling a little dizzy. But I was thinking maybe grabbing something quick from a drive-thru or something like that. It’s up to you what sounds good.” I felt bad she didn’t feel good but then again, she’s the kind of person that doesn’t eat unless someone reminds her so this wasn’t a rare occurrence.
I said I would and that most likely it’d just be something I find on the drive home. After a quick love you, bye, I hung up and started the hour-long drive home… Well now hour and some change since I’ve got an extra stop to make.
After driving around, I finally found a fast-food joint that sounded somewhat decent and grabbed a couple burgers and some nuggets for my dogs because they deserve it. I was a little bit pissed when they handed me the bag because they had not given me two bags, instead I was given one bag that was filled to the very brim and on top just barely hanging on were my fries. I just sat the bag in the passenger seat and took off.
I then hit the highway and almost immediately the disassociation took hold and before I knew it, I was halfway home with some random song blaring over the radio to help keep me up. As I started to consciously drive my eyes started to get super heavy and I decided now would be the right time to start snacking on the fries next to me.
Without looking (Because that would be dangerous to do.) I started feeling around inside the bags in the passenger seat for those salty crack coated fries….. Until I couldn’t find any and only the burgers and nuggets.
“The fuck? Did I get ripped off? Those bastards better have given me my fries!” Now was the time for an important question….. Do I take my eyes off the road and look for the important fries? Or do I suffer without them and keep driving safely?
Of course like one does I chose to look for those tasty bastards and with one hand still on the wheel for stability, I turned on the overheads and looked over….. And there they were, on the fucking floorboard, I guess somewhere along the way I hit a bump and they toppled out of the top of the bag and just emptied every single fry…..
“AHHH I knew I should’ve fixed that GOD DAMMIT! Ugh whatever Truth be told I didn’t need the extra calories anyways…..” I said into the air like someone was going to answer.
BEEEEEEP BEEEEEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
I look up really quickly after hearing the blaring horns honking and just in time to see a semi truck with its bright headlights blaring its horn while its brakes were squealing in an attempt to stop.
“haaaa…….. Truck-kun, you bitch, what took you so long.” I sighed and said as I just closed my eyes and tensed up in anticipation.
I felt a horrible pain and a huge lurch as an 80 mph object was suddenly stopped. My head bounced off the steering wheel with a loud crunch echoed around me. My head swam and I felt as something warm started to flow down from my forehead and cover my eyes. I felt that I was still moving somehow but I couldn’t hear anything, I tried to wipe away whatever was covering my eyes but for some reason my arm wouldn’t move.

“You’re time has come human, I will now take what I am owed.”
A mysterious voice spoke and the next moment I felt as If I was being lifted up but instead of being placed down onto the hard ground, I just felt like I was floating higher and higher. Suddenly however I felt a sharp pull from another direction before my mind finally just gave up and went blank, However just before I heard a different voice speak….. But it sounded weaker and as silent as a whisper.
“I need you to help me human, I will give you another chance but you owe me.”
Suddenly I was jolted awake and immediately started to feel panic set in as my brain started to work overtime trying to figure out everything that just happened to me. I tried opening my eyes but still I couldn’t, I tried moving my arms but only after pushing my willpower to its limit was I finally able to move my arm but just barely. It felt sluggish and didn’t respond like I wanted, almost like the nerves that sent the signals between the two weren’t fully established yet.
I felt mentally exhausted after just that so I started to try and sense what was around me with just the senses I could use.
Sound? Nothing, Still couldn’t hear anything which was getting to be very disconcerting.
Sight? Again nothing, I had better luck trying to move my arm than I did opening my eyes.
Taste? I couldn’t really taste anything but for some reason my mouth could open but when it did some kind of liquid would fill it up.
Touch? I could only feel the liquid that was around me. It felt like I was in some kind of partial jelly like substance but all around me.
Smell? Same problem as taste, I would inhale that liqu…… Wait….. If I was inhaling the liquid then why wasn’t I coughing or hacking it back up? Why didn’t I realize this with opening my mouth…. What the hell is going on! Now that I’m conscious of this I now realize that my lungs aren’t even being used! I can’t breath, I can’t get any Oxygen! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!!
I got hit by the semi, I know I did but now what was happening? Am I in some kind of liquid chamber in some experimental hospital? But why couldn’t I open my eyes? Why couldn’t my limbs work the way I wanted them too?
“Wow the little guy is really moving around a lot today isn’t he?”
A soft female voice shook my mind and thankfully saved me from the panic attack I was having.
“Haha, yea hopefully that means he is a strong one since he’s the oldest of the batch. The oldest needs to set the example for the younger siblings.” A deep male voice responded.
Oldest? Siblings? And something about a batch? Who were these people and why were they talking as if I was their kid? I’m a grown 30 year old man for crying out loud, I’m not some little kid! Wait….. I know this is going to sound weird but….. Did I die? Was that Semi really Truck-kun!? HAHAHA YES DUDE REALLY!?
“Let’s leave them be for now and go rest Nitali, It’s been a trying few months since you laid the eggs, I’ll go hunt for some food.”
“Thank you Solace, Ooh if you can find some humans that would be just delightful.”
“Hahaha anything for you hon.”
I felt thudding footsteps go past me as I was jostled around until eventually the tremors faded away as whatever the hell made them went far away. Just what the hell was that and how big was it to be able to produce such a powerful step?
By now I was super exhausted from all of this and my mind started to go black as I drifted off.
……… Sometime later I was jostled awake again but this time It wasn’t from footsteps, this time I felt as everything around me was being shaken and moved. I quickly tried to move my arms again and this time I felt a better reaction as my hands started to flex and I could curl my arms. I still couldn’t open my eyes but the liquid around me felt more fluid and less like a jelly than the last time I was awake.
I was thinking about this when suddenly I was slammed into some kind of hard wall before being tossed immediately slammed into another wall. This happened repeatedly for few seconds before I heard a loud thunderous roar.
“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING WITH THAT YOU EGG THIEVING SCUM!” The male voice yelled so deep that everything vibrated.
I felt that sudden slam but this time something cracked near me and I felt as the liquid started to drain away from me….. I was suddenly very cold.
“NOOOOOO!” The female voice screamed before I felt quick footsteps racing towards me. Why was everything getting so cold now? I was starting to see some kind of light as if my eyelids were closed and I was looking up at the sun. I could see the light but it was veiled.
“DARLING THE EGG BROKE! THE BABY!”
Egg? Baby? I Didn’t understand and it was getting harder to think as the cold was settling down into my body. It was like being in the middle of a cold windless night with nothing on or anything. Am I dying again? But I just reincarnated thought, This can’t happen, not like this…..
