Chapter 2

"They want to do what?! This is insane!" The Claw God exclaimed upon receiving the message from the angel in front of him. His brows furrowed before glancing at the shivering winged human-wannabe in front of him and waving him away.

The angel promptly took the opportunity and fled, glad to have survived what was essentially a 50% chance of sure death.

Turning around, the Claw God snarled slightly, his inhuman teeth showing. With a step, he reached all the way back to the Beast Faction's pantheon, which was currently empty except for him.

This was normal, as most of the Beast Gods had their own matters and worshippers to attend to. Hence, they had an agreement between their major Gods that at least one of them would always stay behind to guard the place.

Still, this wasn't quite as important as the matter at hand. The Claw God waved his, unironically, clawed hand and summoned forth several abominations with far too many teeth and claws from thin air.

"Go summon the other monarchs as well as the Wolf God and the Sage Dragon. Tell them I'm smelling a conspiracy here." He ordered. The creatures quickly obeyed, vanishing from his sights and rushing towards his fellow God's territories.

The Claw God harrumphed angrily, feeling quite indignant. The Civilized Faction was truly as shameless as ever, daring to claim that they wanted to discuss a possible trade agreement between the two factions, but would only do so if they sent a very specific negotiator.

As a major God, and one of the oldest ones in the whole of Tierra, the Claw God was no fool. He knew the Wolf God and the Civilized Faction had some bad blood between them, but the large canine was one of their own now, not to mention a future investment. Major Gods don't grow out of trees, after all.

The Claw God only had to wait for a few hours before he sensed several powerful presences rushing towards his location. He ignored their divine senses trying to probe him for information, instead opting to just tell them in person.

A few minutes later, several figures appeared one after the other. First, a titanic woman dressed in full battle armor. Standing at around five kilometers in height, the Goddess of Battle could easily be considered the strongest one-on-one fighter in the entire Beast Faction.

The woman quickly shrunk down until she was at a more acceptable height, only reaching ten meters from toe to hair. She looked at the Claw God inquisitively, but the monster just shook his head, pointing at the large, colosseum-like temple behind him.

As the woman flew into the Beast Pantheon, another figure arrived. This one wasn't quite as humanoid as the Battle Goddess, but neither was it as much of an abomination as the Claw God.

The Blood God was a deity composed entirely of blood, lacking any skin, muscles, or bone. Still, he usually kept a humanoid form, and despite his true form being an ocean of blood, he was currently only as large as a normal human. He glanced at the Claw God before making his way into the Pantheon as well.

Next came the Sage Dragon. She was a Goddess too, but since she the God of Dragons belonged to the Hell Faction, as well as the Goddess of Divination belonged to the Civilized one, she was one of the few divines who chose not to include the word God or Goddess as their title. Still, she was one of the most influential members in the Beast Faction, and one of the most useful.

Her long, draconic body landed and quickly shrunk down to a more acceptable size from its previous kilometers-long one.

"Claw God, what is the meaning of this?" She asked, staring at him directly. Said God ignored her, pointing irritably at the Pantheon behind him. The dragon rolled her eyes before flying into it.

The last to arrive just so happened to be the main character of the current situation, the Wolf God. Truth be told, the Claw God found the Wolf God to be one his most liked Gods in his faction. Their dispositions and beliefs aligned nicely, after all, and the fact that they both despised the Civilized faction certainly helped sweeten their relationship.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

The titanic wolf that was said Wolf God quickly shrunk down as well, his rune-covered fur somehow managing to look even glossier and softer than the last time the Claw God had seen him. The two exchanged curt nods before they both flew into the temple.

Unlike the Civilized Faction, the Beast Faction rarely bothered with thrones and the like, thus, the gathered members simply sat down however and wherever they wished.

"Greetings, fellow Gods and Goddesses. Before we begin this discussion, does anyone have something they wish to announce?" The Claw God asked once everyone had seated themselves. After a few moments of waiting for anyone to speak up, the Claw God resumed.

"Good. Anyways, I have just received word from the Civilized Faction," He spit out the two words with enough venom to poison a whole town, "That they intend to form a trade agreement with us."

He paused his speech, thinking over his next words. "Get to the point already, Claw. I know you wouldn't have made this such a big deal if you didn't find this suspicious." The Battle Goddess spoke, already getting impatient.

The Claw God graced the armored woman with a glare before coughing into his 'hand'. "... Yes. As the Batte Goddess says, I shall get to the point. They said they would allow us to propagate our various religions into their lands in exchange for assistance against the Hell Faction."

Murmurs immediately broke out amongst the other four divines. Claw glared at them all, causing them to quickly shut their mouths.

"Now, as I'm sure you all know, this deal is far too sweet. And, here's the catch, and why you two," He glanced over at both the Sage Dragon and the Wolf God, "Were invited here. They want us to send Wolf God over to them to discuss the terms of our agreement, alone."

The two other major Gods immediately shot up, eyes blazing with fury. Suprisingly, the Wolf God himself didn't seem too bothered, opting to instead continue lying down on the floor, observing the proceedings.

"What the fuck? This is nonsense! It's clearly a trap and not even an elaborate one! How dare they think us so stupid? Their lands may be the most populated and sought-after, but I sure as fuck am not gonna allow our future major God for something as small as this!" The Battle Goddess roared, the Blood God simply nodding after her.

The Claw God sighed. "Yes, if it was simply that, I would have just murdered their messanger and ignored them. However, it's not so simple. They also stated that they would be willing to give us the location of the Supreme's Mausoleum if we accepted."

Following his words, silence reigned within the Pantheon. Even the previously uncaring Wolf God had sat up on his haunches, eyes focused.

"... What a cunning plan. This bait is too good to pass up..." The Blood God murmured, the red orbs that could be considered his eyes filled with both greed and apprehension.

The Supreme's Mausoleum had been one of the main reasons why the Civilized Faction had been reigning supreme for so long. It was a mythical location, spoken only in whispers even amongst Gods. However, everyone agreed that, within it, there laid the secret towards a realm beyond that of a major God.

If there was, nobody had found it. Still, the treasures within were so plentiful that it made almost all factions green with envy towards the Civilized Faction.

The Claw God ignored his fellow monarchs and instead focused on the two other Gods attending the meeting. "Sage Dragon, could you try to divine information about whatever the Civilized Gods are planning?"

Immediately, the Sage Dragon shook her head. "Impossible. They blocked off the region temporarily, they must have enlisted the help of the Divination Goddess." She mused. "This alone, however, speaks plenty about their honesty." After all, why would they block off divination if they had no nefarious purpose in mind?

The Claw God sighed. "As I suspected. Wolf God, we would not dare force you into this, however, I hope you can understand just why we didn't immediately tell those bastards to fuck off."

The titanic canine sighed and shook his head upon being addressed. "Worry not, Claw God. I understand perfectly. If there's even a single percent chance of them giving up the location, it would be worth the risk a thousandfold. I'm willing to risk it as long as we take the necessary precautions, and I get some favors from you all."

The Claw God nodded. "Naturally. You two in agreement?" He turned and asked, the other two major Gods easily nodding.

"Very well. Should I fall, I will have to ask you three to stand guard over my empire for a hundred thousand years. If any God or Goddess emerges amongst them, then it'd be worth it. If not, you may then split them up amongst the Faction however you deem fit." The Wolf God spoke once more, his eyes turning deadly serious at the mention of his potential death.

Following a round of agreements from everyone present, the Claw God clapped loudly, attracting everyone's attention back to him.

"Good. Alright, here's the plan. Us three monarchs are gonna hide in the shadows, far away enough that they won't be able to sense us, but close enough that we should be able to assist you should anything happen. We'll enlist a number of Medium Gods to act as support, but they'll be too far to act immediately."

After a few rounds of discussing details, everyone returned back to their territories. Meanwhile, the Claw God sent back a messenger with a simple response.

"Okay."
