A green creature (II)

A green creature (II)

Not many traces of the spider’s old prey remained, as a certain mini Gjaki had taken care of them. In addition, silk was a very precious material for a tailor. Even the paralyzing liquid had been collected.

So, the goblin couldn’t realize that she had been encased in a silk sack. She only remembered being caught, and that she had awakened in front of a being that only existed in the most terrifying tales. That being was undoubtedly much stronger than her, but strangely, didn’t seem hostile. Anyway, she didn’t want to risk making her angry, so after regaining control of herself, she began to speak.

“I’m Tili. And you?” the goblin replied shyly.

“I’m Gjaki,” she introduced herself with a smile.

Despite her prejudices, she found that shy goblin strangely adorable.

“Are you really not going to eat me?”

“Of course not. Although, if you want me to give you a bite, you just have to ask,” Gjaki scoffed, while wondering how goblin blood tasted.

“No, no, you don’t need to!” she was quick to deny it. After that, she stared in bewilderment as the vampire laughed out loud.

Suddenly, Gjaki saw how the goblin was looking beyond her, terrified, and fell back against the wood. The vampire didn’t even flinch until the trap was activated, thus restraining a killer squirrel, or so the players called them.

Although it had a certain resemblance, it wasn’t actually a squirrel, but a dangerous level 12 arboreal predator. It was specialized in dealing with snakes, and had been discovered by the Bat guarding the entrance. Therefore, she was waiting for it.

She had her legs bent, and was ready to leap towards her enemy, which was trapped by a pair of Tentacles. Gjaki moved quickly and lethally. She easily killed the beast which had been too reckless, had gotten too close.

The little green being looked at the vampire in amazement, and was stunned by the smaller version that took care of the corpse.

“You better speak lower, lest something more dangerous comes.”

The goblin nodded, unsure whether she should be scared. Still, she mustered enough courage to ask.

“Did a spider really catch me?”

“Yes, you were inside one of these.”

The vampire took out the silk sack that she had kept as a memento. The rest had been turned into threads.

The goblin looked between terrified and fascinated at the sack that had appeared out of nowhere. There was a cut int it, which had been made to remove what had been inside it. She got up and bowed slightly, her feet shaking.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Thanks.”

Gjaki was speechless for a moment, as she didn’t expect the goblin to be so polite. It was far from the image of little savages she had of them. She didn’t expect either that, even in those worn and ripped clothes, the little green being was so incredibly adorable. Gjaki wondered if she could adopt her.

“It’s fine. It was a coincidence that I found you. How did it get you?”

“I don’t know. I was running away and crashed against something. I don’t remember much else,” Tili explained.

“Running away?”

“Bad goblins invaded our village. One wanted to mate with me. They were handing us out. Tado helped me to escape, but he couldn’t come with me,” she explained.

Her face looked sad and miserable while speaking. Tears were running down her cheeks, which prevented her from seeing the vampire’s scowling face.

“How many of them? How strong?” Gjaki asked.

Still teary-eyed, the goblin opened them wider to look at those red eyes that didn’t seem so fearsome anymore. Gjaki’s cordial tone had been disturbed. Tili could see that she was no longer smiling, that she seemed angry, though not at her.

“About twenty. Much stronger than me. I don’t know if more than you.”

Gjaki nodded. She was thinking, remembering her knowledge from the game. She then approached Tili, and touched her below her small breast.

“Here is your heart, isn’t it? If I pierce through it, you would die, right?

“Y… Yes,” she nodded, scared.

“Don’t worry, I’m not going to hurt you. Maybe, I can help you with those who have attacked your village. Neck too? If I pierce or twist it?”

“Y… Yes,” she nodded again, scared but also surprised, and somewhat hopeful.

“Would you know how to go back to your village?”

“I think so. If we are where the spider caught me,” Tili assured.

“Good. Let’s go. Hmmm. You can’t go like this,” Gjaki said while staring at the rags that the goblin’s dress had turned into.

“Eeeeeek! Wait! What are you doing!?” she resisted.

However, she couldn’t avoid being stripped of her ripped clothes, thus leaving her in a plain underwear. She was totally embarrassed.

“Don’t be so shy. We’re both women. Put that on. It should adapt to you,” the vampire brought a level 5 armor closer to her.

Indecisive, skeptical and shy, she grasped the top as she was covering herself with her other hand. To her surprise, it shrunk to just the right size. It was something she had never seen.

“It looks good on you,” the vampire praised.

Tili was staring very surprised at the mirror which had appeared out of nowhere, and where she could see her reflection. Astonished, she was looking how said armor changed color under the will of its owner, who decided on a color similar to the goblin’s skin. Gjaki hoped that it could help her to better camouflage at night.

The goblin had never had clothes that fit so well, that were so comfortable, that didn’t brush or pinch her anywhere on her body. It was almost like a second skin.

Gjaki smiled for a moment at the goblin’s pleased expression, but soon her face turned more serious.

“Do you know how to use a weapon?” she asked her little green companion.

“A… A spear. I’ve almost learned Lunge,” she replied with some pride in her voice.

“Good. Hope you don’t need to use it.”

With that said, she handed her a spear, which not only shrunk to the proper size, but to her level.

Tili didn’t know what to think or say about that magical equipment. It was something that she hadn’t dared imagine even in her wildest fantasies, and that she was now holding in her small hands. Nonetheless, she didn’t have much time to indulge in it.

“Let’s go, it’s time to go hunting”

To her surprise, the vampire picked her up.

She didn’t dare move a muscle as she Glided alongside her strange savior, whose silver hair was brushing against her, whose fangs were barely inches from her. However, even though the vampire was supposed to be a fearsome being, Tili felt that she could fully trust her.
