I opened my eyes as I felt my body ache and heard a loud sound of something falling.

It was a dream huh? I was lying on the floor. I looked at the surrounding and it seems that I am still in the cottage. I fixed myself up and sat on the chair to prepare for breakfast. When I said to prepare for breakfast it was just playing with the inventory and deciding what to eat from the items inside the storage. It took me a while to choose from the variety of food and after eating the meal I went outside. Since I can come back here using that key i figured that I should leave this place. I need to find other humans and learn more about this world.

I expected that this forest has some monsters but how come I haven't seen one yet?

I went to explore deeper into the woods and after fifteen minutes of walking I received a notification.

[You have left the safe zone of this dungeon.]

Eh? So that is why there are no monsters. I guess the heroes must have placed a barrier or something in this area. This means that monsters would appear from now on. I should be careful.

I took out the short sword that I have from the inventory in case something will happen. Moments later as I was walking along a road that I discovered, a small pig appeared. The small pig was staring at me as if it was going to attack. It moved its legs like a bull who is prepared to charge and the pig dashed towards me. I gripped my sword tightly as I jumped to the side and dodged the small pig's charge. I remembered my ability All-seeing Eyes.

"Insight" I quickly activated and the stats of the small pig appeared.

So the skill shows the percentage of the stats and not the real figures huh?

The small boar turned and charged towards me again. I prepared my sword and as soon as it was in range I used all of my strength to slash towards the pig. The small animal was slashed by my sword and blood splattered all over. A voice of a pig suffering can be heard. As the noise can't be heard anymore stopped the body of the pig became a small orb of light and vanished into thin air. Even when the body disappeared the blood that came from the pig smeared all over my sword stayed. Just like in games when the body vanish a small wooden chest dropped. I picked the chest up and received the notification.

The items I got automatically went inside the storage ring. I wonder what would happen if I did not have such ring. This world really works like in the ones in games. I touched my head and realized that it was my very first kill in this world, in my whole life.

I need to toughen myself to survive here. I thought.

After calming myself down I proceeded further and I met more monsters. There were a variety of creatures that appeared. There was the Wild Boar that I met first, a weird mushroom that has eyes and uses spores to attack, and a wild black dog. At this moment I am facing another boar but this one is much bigger than the first one and its tusk are larger and sharper.

It has been fifteen minutes since I have encountered this huge pig. It took me long to take this one down. The boar was now panicking since it is near its death. A burst of energy suddenly rose and enveloped its body. It now prepared to charge towards me and as I blinked it disappeared and suddenly arrived in front of me. I used all of my strength to dodge to the right immediately but I was still hit in my shoulder.

*crack*

It was painful and I can't move my left shoulder properly. It seems to be broken. Without giving me rest the boar charged again but this time even though it hurts I coped up all my energy to hit the boar one last time and

*ougghhh* The boar cried its demise and fell. It then became light and vanished leaving a silver chest behind.

Finally I leveled up! That boar should have been a boss or something. It gave me quite a lot of exp. The previous monsters gave me enough for it to be at the border line of Level 2 but that huge boar gave me more than a level's worth of exp. It was quite hard to gain levels here unlike the online games in my previous world.

I looked at my stats and checked how much I have grown.

I got 4 points on each stats after leveling up twice. This job is so balanced or is it just me?

My shoulder hurts if I tried to move it. I sat down and rest for while. Since I got a new skill Heal I tried using it if it can really heal my shoulder. I placed my right hand on my left shoulder.

Heal- skill that can restore health points and cure injuries. Can also cure weak poisons.

"Heal" 

Light glimmered and after a few seconds the wound was gone and my bones were fixed. I tried moving my shoulder and rotated it, did some stretching to check if it really was healed. My shoulder was fixed as if it was not hit by a charging pig. It was already lunch or I think it was so I took a break and ate a sandwhich that was inside the inventory.

After eating I got up and walked along the road. I came across two paths when I was walking for nearly an hour. There was a road sign and it says that the one going left is to the Ridge Mountains and to the right was going to Holy Capital, Palette City.

A sudden realization came into my mind. Why am I able to understand the language here? Do they use English? But knowing the reason now won't really make a difference. While contemplating why I was able to understand the thing written in the signs, I can hear the sound of a horse footsteps and wheels coming my way. When I looked at the direction a carriage was approaching. I waved my hand in hopes to ask for information.

"Hey!" I waved my hand.

The carriage then stopped in front of me. 

"What is it young man?" The coachman asked me.

When I was about to reply, someone peeked out of the window.

"Rudolph why did we stop? We are in a hurry milady is poisoned you know that right?" A middleaged man said

"Sorry my friend we are in a hurry." the coachman was about to start the carriage when I stopped him.

"Wait! Maybe I can help?" I said

"Help? Someone like you?" the man inside the carriage said.

"I can use magic." I replied.

"Magic? Are you perhaps a Mage? You don't look like one." the man doubted.

"At least let me take a look." I told him

"If you do anything bad to milady I'll make sure you will pay for it." He opened the door and I went inside the carriage when I saw a young girl who is about 14 years of age. She has long blonde hair and was wearing a blue colored dress. She was sleeping but you can see that she is in pain just by looking at her pale face. Sweat covered her forehead and her breathing was unusual. I then touched her head and cast my spell.

"Heal"

The light appeared again and this time it took me a minute to completely restore the lady's health back to normal. The skill costed me over half of my mana points. She twitch her eyes and she was waking up. She opened her eyes and I saw azure blue eyes. Those eyes seemed like they were going to consume me. I was able to regain my senses.

"Who are you?" sweet soft voice came out from the girl who is lying down the seat in front of me.

"Milady! Its good that you are now okay." The man interrupted with joy in his face and said to the girl.

"Yes Sebastian I feel fine now. I only remembered that I suddenly felt sick when we were about to ride the carriage." She got up and sat on the seat.

"This lowly servant of yours has been careless and let someone hit you with a poisoned needle. It was too late when I discovered it already hit you." he lowered his head.

"It is fine I am okay now. Who is this young man here?." She faced me and wondered who I was.

"My name is Hiro Cross I was going to ask for a ride when I learned about your situation and volunteered to help." I gently bowed and told her about the circumstances.

She nodded at introduced herself. "Thanks for saving my life Mr. Hiro. I am the second princess of the Magia Kingdom, Lumina Sapphire Von Rainsworth" She placed her hand on her chest and bowed her head.

"Eh? Princess?" I had a confused look. No one would imagine that a princess would ride such a small ordinary carriage.

She softly laughed while covering her mouth with her hand.

"Mr. Hiro. I apologize for the way I acted earlier. Thank you for saving milady Lumina. I forgot to introduce myself earlier. My name is Sebastian. I am the personal butler who was assigned by her royal highness to assist milady." Sebastian took his hat down to his chest and bowed like the common butler you see in shows.

"Hiro, what are you going to do in the capital?" Lumina asked out of her curiousity.

"Well... I searching for a place to stay since I am on my own now. I was going to try my luck on finding a job or something in the capital. I also want to check the library out to learn more since my village was just a small one." I made out a random lie that isn't really a total lie since I really want to learn more about this world.

"Ah is that so? As thanks for helping me, I'll arrange it so that you can get into the city's library free of charge." Lumina smiled as she offered her help.

"Really? Thanks a lot. I didn't know that I needed money to get in the library though." I scratched the back of head and felt embarassed. Should I behave like this in front of a princess? I wondered.

"Milady we are almost there." Sebastian informed the princess.

I peeked out the window and saw huge walls surrounded by a moat and a gate that was connected to the road by a bridge.

The view gets nearer and nearer as we arrived at the city.

This is the Holy Capital huh?
