I am Hiro Cross, a sixteen-year-old student who just died or as I can remember. After using all of my strength to reply to that weird message, I suddenly got transferred into a white room.
Inside the white room was an old man seating behind the table with a huge digital screen. When he noticed that I was looking at him, he then waved his hand signalling me to go to him.
I sat on the vacant chair next to the table and he suddenly spoke, "Aren't you surprisingly calm?"
He touched his beard and laughingly continued, "Most people will be like 'who are you?' or 'where am I?' But you are the first one who hasn't spoken a single word yet or maybe you are just scared? Hahaha!"
This old man seems to be very talkative. I am really bad handling these kind of people, I thought.
"Well anyway, I already know you from the records that I have just read and watched." He then searched for something and placed a folder on top of the desk.
"Hiro Cross, sixteen, male, a student, a gamer, plays games in order to escape reality and died because of bullies. Responded 'Yes' to the mail that the higher ups sent." He kept on flipping the pages inside the folder.
I was wondering how he knew about those things.
"What was that message all about?" I asked.
"You've finally spoken. I thought you don't know how to speak." He stopped and looked at me.
He then explained that the message was given to people who the gods favor. Thus, granting them the chance to live another life.
"I forgot to introduce myself. This old man is called Ryder. I am one of the messenger of the gods in this universe." He bowed his head as a sign of greeting.
"I'm Hiro, but you already know it though..." I also bowed my head in return as respect.
"So Hiro, use the screen in front of you to select the features of the world that you want to restart your life on." Ryder then waved his hand to make the digital screen move towards me.
There were a lot of features listed on the screen. All I need to do was press the box to check the feature I want so that the system can find a world that matches.
Among all the listed features I checked:
Magic
Guilds
Different Races
LevelUp System
Dungeons
Monsters
.
.
.
Since I was a gamer in my previous life, I dreamt on being able to live inside a world like the ones in the games I played. So I checked everything that was related to it. It took me half an hour to finish selecting.
"Are you finished choosing?" Ryder asked.
I nodded my head to tell him that I was done.
"Press the Next button in order for it to find matching worlds." He instructed.
After a few seconds, 5 worlds appeared on the screen. But one caught my eye the most.
[Galdur]
"When you have chosen a world just press it and you'll start your new life there." Ryder told me. He also added that the gods that favor me will give their blessing when I arrive at the world that I'll choose.
He added that I shouldn't worry on teleporting into a dangerous place since all portals lead to a village or a town.
I bid farewell to the old man and pressed the screen. Everything around me became dark and I became unconscious...
*Inside the white room*
"It seems I have forgotten something important." Ryder lazily scratches his head.
I opened my eyes as I regained my consciousness. I was lying down on the roots of a very huge tree. I stood up and looked at the surroundings.
It really was not a dream. I was now transported to another world. With this I can start a new life, I thought.
I was surrounded by trees when I looked around. I thought that I was going to be placed inside a village but it seems there was a mistake.
When I focused my eyesight forward. A popout window suddenly appeared
[Forgotten Forest]
Woah! It really is like a game. I excitedly told myself when I realized the similarities between the gaming world and this world.
Being awed by my environment I forgot to check myself. I noticed that I was still wearing my school uniform but the difference was that I am equipped with a short sword.
I held the short sword in my hands and focused like what I did a while ago then a window appeared.
[Short Sword]
I swing the sword in my hands. Tried slashing it like how the warriors from the games do it.
After a few minutes of playing around with the sword, I suddenly thought how I can see my own status.
"Status! Analyze! Check!" I shouted keywords that normally show the character stats but nothing worked.
"Insight" I whispered, then a window came out with the list of my stats.

It seems I am like a cheater in this world with these abilities. I closed the stats window
"Skills" As soon as I activated the command, the skill window opened.
Skills:
N/A
I need to know where and how I'm going to acquire more skills.
I closed the skill window and walked deep into the forest.
I noticed that this forest is so peaceful with no animals. I was expecting that a beast or monster would appear since I placed it as one of the features.
After strolling for a while, I noticed a small wooden cottage near a cliff. Then when I went near the cottage, I saw the vast blue sea. Before going inside the house, I noticed a stone pillar at the end of the cliff. I approached the pillar and found out that it was a memorial stone.
[Without light, there is no darkness.
Without darkness, there is no light.
When light and darkness came to one.
Here lies the one]
After reading what was written on the stone, a window appeared.
[You have discovered the inheritance of the lost hero. Do you accept his will?
Primary Job Change: Exceed (Rank: Secret Rare)
Note: Once you accept this job you cannot change it anymore.
(Yes/No)]
Inheritance of a lost hero huh? Might as well accept this. Better be safe on having a job than not having one. I pressed Yes
Suddenly a light aura and dark aura emerged from out of nowhere. It enveloped me for a while. The dark aura went inside my right hand while the light aura went into my left hand.
[Congratulations!
You have become a Lost Hero!
All stats will increase by 10

All-seeing Eyes Lv1
I expected to get a bonus. However, it was a surprise having twice the amount of stats without raising a level. It seems that heroes do get special treatment. I also got 20% more stats because of Character Boost. A very handy cheat indeed.
I then checked my skills.
[Skill Window]
Demon Right Lv1
Holy Left Lv1
I read the descriptions of my two new skills.
Demon Right- The power of darkness has been imbued on your right hand. Each finger has its special kind of skill.
Lv1 Curse(Pinky)- prohibits the target to do an action. When the prohibited action is done, the curse specified by the user will be dealt on the target.
Holy Left- the power of light has been imbued on your left hand. Each finger has its special kind of skill.
Lv1 Contract (Pinky)- creates a pact that is blessed by the light between the user and the target. Can be used on both humanoids and monsters.
This is a very strange set of skills... Why the hell is this based on fingers?
After reading, I went inside the small cottage.
Inside the cottage was a small desk, a doublebed, a bookshelf and a wooden chest. In the small desk was a small notebook.
I held the notebook with my hands and opened it. I read the contents that was written inside.
[You have obtained the Diary of Princess Lyra]
To make it short, it was a story about a hero who travelled around the world saving countless of people together with his comrades.
The notebook was a diary of some sort. It seems that the person who owned it was a companion of the hero.
At the back of the notebook was a small key. Which I think that was for the wooden chest.
[You have obtained Old Key]
Description: Old key to a chest

I used the key to open the chest.
A pair of gloves, a pendant, a ring and a small note, these were the contents of the chest.
Finding the note interesting, I read it first.

[Ring of Infinite Space]

The hero left very good things. Just the ring made me ecstatic. I'm wondering what kind of place this is for a hero to live in.
Time flied so fast that I didn't notice that the sun already set.
*growl*
I guess I'm excited that I forgot about food huh? Where can I get some though... Wait, don't tell me I need to go out to the forest at night?
I slowly peeked outside the window.
It is already dark... It might be dangerous if I'll go out.
I lied down on the bed and was about to go to sleep when I remembered...
Right! The ring must have some food inside it. But may be it is already spoiled. I guess I have to check it.
I got up and sat on the bed and said "Inventory." When I said the magic word a window suddenly appeared. When I scanned what's inside I found out that there are parts that was locked. When I carefully read the description it says that I need to reach the required level to unlock the contents of a particular section. Luckily when I browsed the available slots I discovered food.
Food!!! Roasted White Rabbit Meat, Grilled Wild Boar Meat, Iron Cow Milk What kind of names are these? But oh well. food is food. Food is life! I took out some rabbit meat and milk and munched it until only bones remained.
That was great! Such delicacy, I'm glad that it didn't poison me though hahaha...
The food inside the inventory did not spoil and was not poisonous.
*burp*
I guess I'll go sleep? I lied down the bed for the second time and closed my eyes.
I hit the sack.
