As Halrick freed himself from the clutches of the creature, he cautiously made his way down the narrow pathway, the echoing sound of a drill growing louder with each step. The vibrations from the noise caused his body to tremble with nerves. Approaching the source of the sound, Halrick cautiously peered over a weathered stone wall and caught sight of two men. One of them was meticulously using a drill to seal a coffin shut, while the other, bearing a prominent burn scar on his right cheek, sat back, leisurely smoking a cigarette.
A familiar, thick Southern accent filled the room. "Make sure that thing's locked up tight. We can't afford for him to escape again."
After finishing with the drill, the man placed it on the desk and requested a cigarette. With the cigarette in hand, he inquired about the arrival of someone for the boy.
The man with the burn scar chuckled, "If they do, the boss ordered us to take care of them." With that, the two men exited the room, leaving the mysterious coffin standing ominously on its own.
Halrick's heart raced as he approached the ancient coffin, its weathered exterior hinting at its age and the secrets it held within. He carefully examined the coffin, searching for any sign of a mechanism to open it. After a moment, he realized that the only way to access the contents would be to remove the screws that held the casket shut.
As he hesitated, a chilling sound emanated from within the coffin, sending shivers down his spine. A muffled, desperate scream pierced the air, dispelling any doubt Halrick had about the urgency of the situation.
Without a second thought, he reached for the drill, his hands steady despite the adrenaline coursing through his veins. The metallic whir of the drill filled the room as he began the tense process of unscrewing the nails, his mind racing with uncertainty and suspicion as the thought of someone being trapped inside the coffin overwhelmed his mind.
Elsewhere, the black car of the two detectives arrived at Murder House. They notice an abandoned green car. Searching the car, they notice how clean the car was, almost giving off the impression that it was recently bought. Pressing on forward, they notice that Murder House was a nickname given to Hillside Slaughterhouse. The two drew out their guns and flashlights and entered inside.
The smell of blood and rotten corpus was enough to make Isaac pause and throw up. Sonny gives little sympathy and tells Isaac to grow up and keep moving. As they walked past bodies being displayed on meat hooks, Isaac commented on the situation by asking who could be capable of doing such a thing.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Sonny coldly responded, saying, “People who are messed up in the head.”
The two of them reached an outside courtyard and were immediately struck by the sounds of something running at an alarmingly fast rate. Intrigued, Sonny led the way up a crooked set of wooden floorboards, with Isaac following closely behind. As Sonny shone his light into a dimly lit room, they caught sight of the abomination that had been chasing Halrick. The creature locked eyes with Sonny and began to approach him.
Recognizing the imminent threat, Sonny swiftly unloaded all six rounds of his revolver into the creature, managing to wound it but not kill it. As Sonny reloaded his gun, Isaac began firing his weapon, but even his efforts couldn't bring down the creature.
“What the heck is this thing?”
“Does it matter? Just shoot it!” Sonny yelled.
The detectives cautiously approached the menacing creature, their hands trembling as they reloaded their guns. With hearts pounding, they unleashed a barrage of gunfire, their bullets finding their mark and eventually bringing the creature down.
As the smoke cleared, Isaac gasped for air, "This is too much. We need to call for backup."
But Sonny, his voice determined, countered, "No! We’re too far into this mess; we can't back out now! We are IAC agents, not low-level cops. Now we have a job to do. Are you with me?"
Isaac's silence spoke volumes, but he nodded in response to Sonny’s question, and the two pressed on through the horrifying corridors of the Slaughterhouse.
As the last screw came off the coffin, Halrick placed the drill back on the desk, opened the door, and out dropped Charlie, bloody and bruised. Shocked Halrick took the black tape off of Charlie’s lips that kept him silent.
“Get away from me, you freak! Get away!” He screamed out
Halrick was stunned. “Charlie. It’s me, Doctor Halrick.”
The quiet echo of footsteps grew louder as they approached the room, prompting Halrick to act quickly. Uncertain of what to do, he swiftly scooped up Charlie, and they both took cover behind the sturdy desk, their hearts pounding as they waited for the intruder to leave.
"Well, butter my biscuit, goddamn it. How the hell did he get out?" The man's frustrated voice reverberated through the hallway as he stomped out of the room, his agitation evident. "Brother, you best get in here! That kid got out," he bellowed, the urgency in his tone sending a shiver down Halrick's spine.
Noticing the man with his back turned, Halrick picked back up the drill and lodged the drill into the skull of the man, killing him. Halrick quickly told Charlie to follow him as the two left the room and began backtracking their way out of the nightmare.
The brother entered the room and saw the casket open and his brother dead with the drill stuck in his head. A wave of anger rushed over him as he started swearing profusely as he opened a nearby locker that inside had a chainsaw that still had dried blood stains from the last time it was in use. He revved the chainsaw’s engine and yelled out that he would avenge his brother and kill whoever was responsible for his brother's murder before begging his search for Charlie.
