One-Way Trip

The plan, was rather simple, but could also be called stupid.

Why?

Well…it's because, me, the one in-charge of planning, is sending myself to be a scout team and dive first right away to Sky Whale territory.

Simply because there's nobody over these thousands that knows a mobility type skill that could bring anyone other than the skill haver themselves, except for me with my Roller Coaster Summoning.

You could say 'Why don't you let the actual scout go while you just stay cooped up using your Astral Vision?' but, after another set of tests…the roller coaster cart literally poof! Straight up gone if my actual body was not in its vicinity, therefore I need to go there myself.

And now…I was briefing with four other people.

They haven't told me their names yet, but I already know about it from Appraisal.

Ali, Raden, Rizki, and Sheena…I don't even know how to pronounce those names.

These people have quite handy skills and unique to each other that if used right, could complement each other.

But most importantly, they all have the almighty Telepathy skills.

Kaku never missed with his eyes.

"Umm…so, do we really use that roller coaster?"

Raden asked me that right away, well, I understand his doubts.

This thing isn't normal.

"Yes…don't tell me, you were afraid of roller coaster?"

Sigh

"I'm sure Kaku did filter the scout team to be those that would be alright if we go with speedy delivery…"

"Well, yes, he did." Raden replied, and Sheena followed it up.

"We thought that was a joke, but after a second thought, I don't think it's a good time for a joke."

"Exactly."

"Well, it doesn't really matter though."

"Let's get going straight away, time is ticking away."

"Roger!"

Ah right, I haven't realized this yet, but strangely…everyone seems to be fluent in English right now..or is it?

I'm sure these four people is native here, in Indonesia.

"Before that…is everyone here native from Indonesia?"

"Err…yes?"

"Your English sure is good, too good that you all converse with each other in English when I observed it."

Upon hearing my words, all of them looked at each other as if confused..is something wrong?

"But…we're not using English, at all?"

"Yeah, I thought you were also Indonesian, with such a strong Indonesian Accent."

"Eh?"

"Well, anyway. It doesn't really matter."

"Come, get in."

"Alright."

"Next stop, Sky Whale!"

With that, I commanded the Roller Coaster to start moving, and it slowly gained more and more speed the more I poured my creativity on it.

"Woah!"

"THIS IS WAY TOO FAAAST!"

"Hahahaha!"

"This is fun!!"

Yep, indeed it is.

The landscape slowly fading, as we rose into the sky.

Clouds everywhere, yet, we still could breath normally…It seems the science common sense was also flipped, huh?

There isn't any resistance even when we go this fast. If I roughly measure the speed we're currently taking, it's around 200 km/h, or even higher, which is nasty for the untrained.

After around five minutes going through the clouds, the Sky Whale finally appeared in my vision. It was still majestic no matter how many times I saw it.

"Sky Whale spotted! I'm going even faster!"

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

"Woohoo!!" Ali shouted, clearly thrilled.

"SCARY! SCARY! SCARY! SCARY!" Rizki chanted, his voice trembling.

"That's big," Raden observed, his eyes wide.

"Why is it so big?" Sheena asked, her voice filled with wonder.

"No way…" I whispered. "Is that…trees? Mountains? Pyramids? No fucking way!" I exclaimed.

We matched the Sky Whale's speed, and I slowly but surely maneuvered the Roller Coaster to land on its underbelly.

The moment I stepped onto it, a system message popped up.

[Sky Land]

Isn't that a bit too simple of a name?

I felt like we were in one of those fantasy jungle temples, like something out of Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones, with big trees, vines, and a pyramid… yeah, it was out of place, but whatever.

The lush greenery and towering structures were surreal, creating a breathtaking yet eerie atmosphere. The ground beneath our feet was solid, yet there was a subtle, gentle undulation, reminding us that we were standing on the back of a living, breathing creature.

"Everyone, stay sharp,"

"We're in unknown territory."

Ali, Raden, Rizki, and Sheena began to spread out, each taking in the strange environment. The trees were enormous, their leaves shimmering with an otherworldly glow. Vines hung like natural drapes, and the pyramid in the distance seemed to pulse with a mysterious energy.

"This is incredible," Sheena said, her voice hushed in awe.

"It's like a whole new world up here," Raden added, his eyes darting around, trying to take in every detail.

"Let's not forget why we're here,"

"We need to gather information and find any weaknesses we can exploit."

We moved cautiously, aware that while this place was beautiful, it could also be incredibly dangerous. The Sky Whale's movements created subtle shifts in the landscape, yet we don't feel anything trying to make us fall off, as if this land have it's own rules and gravity.

As we ventured deeper, the scale of Sky Land became more apparent. It was like an ecosystem unto itself, complete with wildlife and vegetation that seemed adapted to life in the sky. I could see creatures darting between the trees, their forms indistinct but clearly alive.

"Stay close and keep your eyes peeled,"

"We don't know what kind of threats we might face here."

Despite the strangeness of it all, I felt a sense of exhilaration. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we were the first to set foot on this incredible floating world. But we couldn't let our guard down. The Sky Whale was still our enemy, and we needed to find a way to bring it down before it rampaged the land below.

"Alright team, let's get to work," I said, steeling myself for the task ahead. "We've got a mission to complete."

"Can any of you connect your telepathy to those on the grounds?"

"No."

"Nope."

"It's a failure."

Three of them saying those thing with dissapointment all over their faces...but for some reason, Sheena seems like drown in her dream, not budging nor saying anything.

"YES! CONNECTED! She suddenly yelled...whatever.

"Alright, can you hear me, Sheena?"

"Ah, yes, I can hear you clear, Rinka."

"Who is connected with you right now?"

"It was Rofi, and he is currently looking for Kaku."

"Time to do the plan."

"Ali, Rizki, Raden... can you use your skills to try to damage the sky whale? Don't worry, I expected it to be not damaged at all. I just need a bit more confirmation."

"Yes, Sir!"

And there they go, spamming their skills towards the thing we stepped on.

It isn't dirt by any chance, but the underbelly on Sky Whale.

I tried to use Appraisal on it but...

I get struck by sudden shockwave straight to my brain, making me freeze for a second.

[Mental Power is too low, lowering the data that get scanned....]

[Sky Whale]

[HP : undefined/undefined]

[Skills: unobservable]

[Observable Skills : Magic Nullification, Obsidian Wall]

[Special Conditions : Destroy the inner-core of Sky Whale to damage it.]

What the heck?

Then...all those preparations for magicians and warrior were practically useless and the future was now in the hands of us five?

Why is there a barrier to prevent my Astral Vision to get near it to use Appraisal?

This is stupid.

Yeah, Appraisal have a range limit, too.

As if everything have a drawback and were specifically designed to torture us the survivor for the first catastrophe.

Whoever wrote this shit, I will kill you right away the moment I see you.
