Astral Vision

"Everything is real, and It was simply because I find this situation thrilling."

The moment I heard those words, an emotion, akin to rage, was piling up, waiting for the tip to be opened.

"As for the talk? It was some boring talk to pass the time."

Ah, this guy really wants to make me irritated.

But…indulging in emotion of fear and crying endlessly really is stupid in this situation. It is stupid…

I…really hate this kind side of him.

Why…just why are you like this?

"I hate that side of you....You could just do things normally, but you…you-"

"I know."

"So, just do what you must do."

"…I can't argue with you. Not this time."

Father has tasked me to keep things to stay in order, to calm everyone, to make them work their hardest, for survival, our survival.

I don't have time for Rinka, not right now.

I approached someone that looked like gonna kill himself if left alone.

Really? A suicidal scientist?

Why did father even recruit these kinda guys?

I mean…they are renowned researchers and inventors…I guess nobody is immune to fear of death.

"Ms. Stella…is this real?"

He is a mechanic, an automaton mechanic to be exact, someone who loves doing experiments with his work that might or might not endanger his life, yet he is still shocked by this situation.

Just what kind of alien creature is the human called Rinka?

"Yes, and for our survival, we need everyone we can get. Please, I beg you."

"We need, need everyone here, for our survival."

I looked around our surroundings, and found that everyone was still instilled by fear.

Humans really can't adapt to something that was unknown to them this fast, huh?

Rinka and Father were the weird ones!

Rather than make these requests personal, I decided to increase my volume, my sounds.

"Everyone!"

"I know, I know that this situation is really, and I meant it, really STUPID!"

Everyone in the bunker listened to me, they raised their heads, following the source of the sound, they turned their heads to me.

"BUT, we need everyone here, for our survival!"

"Wake up..."

"I know, I know what everyone here is capable of, so please, do what you do best!"

"I beg you, for our survival!."

After a while, starting from the first mechanic guy, everyone stood up.

"YEAH!"

"WE MUST SURVIVE!!!"

"hey hey, what kind of exciting creature is there outside this bunker~?"

"This was a really exciting situation the moment I heard her speech."

"Can I really do an experiment in this bunker?"

Everyone, except one guy.

I stared at Rinka.

He is…sleeping?

What the heck is wrong with him, sleeping in this chaos?

But…he looks cut-

No, not this time Stella.

I need to do things for this bunker's safety first.

3 minutes…

5 minutes…

9 minutes…

"Aaaargh!"

"What the?"

He still closes his eyes, his breathing is still normal.

"That surprised me…"

Is he…having a nightmare?

What did he dream of?

Does this mean that this catastrophe also makes him scared, to the point he is having a nightmare in just ten minutes of sleeping?

Wait, why did I even count the time he is sleepi-

Get a grip, Stella.

***

"Oh, you woke up earlier than I expected."

Stella...she was holding a cup of something, one from each hand.

"How many hours-?"

"Thirteen minutes. You seem tired and get hit by nightmares with those freaky screams."

That...no way it took thirteen minutes.

"Where is Kaku?"

"It's really urgent!"

"Eh?"

=============================

He still is sitting at his desk, observing the above grounds with a serious expression.

"Kaku."

"You noticed those faster than a lot of people, Rinka."

"What did I just see?"

"I don't know, I really don't know what you mean, but.."

"But, you already touched the [Skills] in the system."

"Skill?"

Is it the same skill, as in skill in the RPG games? Aren't the things Kaku experienced also almost the same as playing a simulation game with all the holograms…Is RPG games HUD really this convenient, that even god-like beings used it to help Kaku in the other world?

"Care to elaborate what you see back then?"

"I see [Monsters] swarming to destroy power lines and the electrical power source."

"As if every one of them was ordered to destroy our electrical power."

"That...really is concerning."

"Anything else?"

"A nasty creature with a combination of a lion, a shark, and a scorpion was sleeping soundly, and for some reason, I was hooked to that exact location, as if an unknown thing was trying to tell me something."

He frowned, babbling something with his mouth.

I really cannot guess what he is thinking, there are way too many layers to his plans.

After a while…he opened his mouth once again.

"How did you see what's happening outside while your body was sleeping soundly here?"

"I don't know, but I can phase through anything, fly everywhere."

"Did you see anything resembling a body when you see yourself?"

"No."

"It was like...I am just a mere camera, from an invisible drone, that could phase through things."

"Astral Vision."

"What did you say?"

"Astral Vision, the ability to see anything and everything with the price that you lose a bit of your body control."

Wait, why did the name I use on a whim, became an actual real thing?

"You remember the story that I told you, about my experience during my coma?"

"Yeah, that's the only reason I stick with you at the start."

"At the start, huh? Anyway, one of my companions there has that exact skill."

His voice became more serious.

"The price for such power was so severe, she lost her hearing and sights."

Power? This annoying experience that made me unable to get any sleep, is a powerful thing?

"But, she reached the peak of the swords."

Mhmm, I don't care about that kind of detail, but the existence of [Skills] already makes things a bit clearer.

The fantasy…indeed coming to Earth.

Common sense is now flipped in an instant.

"But, you know what's funny?"

He gestured his fingers, and touched the papers that were piling up on his desk.

With just a small push,

The piling up papers, now scattered everywhere.

"Skills aren't supposed to distribute this fast, therefore I break something?"

"Exactly."

He got up from his desk.

Walking to the door of his room.

"But, now that both of us knew you already had Astral Vision, I'll let–no, order you to scout the surrounding areas for the next six hours."

It's a shame that he only asked me to scout the area…I'll make sure I can physically get out to feel the chaos by myself next time.

"Just bring me some food and drinks, I'll do exactly that anyway even if you didn't ask for it."

"Oh right, one more." I added, and after a short pause, "Could you help me find the whereabouts of my parents?"

Kaku, after hearing that, still didn't change his expression, as if both of them don't take much priority to him…well it is, if I was in Kaku's shoes.

But, price for using it, huh? I don't know anything about that, but I feel like upon learning that such a thing was counted as skill, I could use it whenever I wanted, freely, without any restriction.

And so, I concentrated everything I have, to call upon such blessings one more time.

Astral, Vision.

Once again, my field of vision changed.

It still is full of chaos, with the monsters still dropping like rain.

And my adventure starts now.

If I can't pinpoint the location, searching for two individuals on Earth is a waste of time…but I think they said they were doing business in Switzerland or something near it?

I'm so stupid.
