The insides of the whale were moist and slippery. Dead fish and mutants were gliding towards its stomach, and Finn had no intention of following suit.
He pulled out his gun and pointed it towards the creature's depths. He didn't know where he was, within an intestine or in some other organ, but he knew which way to shoot for maximum damage.
"What are you waiting for?" asked Natalie. "This is disgusting."
"I'll need two months to make another bullet."
"Perhaps we should explore this monster first," said Caroline. "A being used by the echidnas may..."
"Shut it, princess. Finn, that weapon of yours is only good against monsters and demons. We're not fighting demons any time soon, so shoot this bastard before I lose it!"
Natalie burst into flames to get rid of the filth. Magma pooled at her feet, keeping the monster debris away from her body and roasting the wale's insides to a crisp.
From deeper inside, unknown creatures started marching towards them. They were bipedal and they were many, too many.
Finn's senses warned him of at least 50000 creatures approaching, and their numbers kept growing.
"Screw it." Finn pointed his gun at the monsters. 'I don't know how big this thing is, I don't know how many of you bastards there are, but you've picked on the wrong cowboy.'

He cocked his gun and stared into the darkness. His finger rested on the trigger and then he slowly pulled it back.
Soon, there was a tremendous boom; the light was blinding. Like a firecracker being thrown down a well, the ball of energy Finn shot as a bullet flew towards the whale’s center while eviscerating its minions along the way.
Flesh splattered everywhere. The creatures did not even scream. The energy ball grew to the size of a house as it went straight through them, destroying everything in its path, until finally, it exploded.
Caroline, Natalie and Finn closed their eyes, as the explosion engulfed them and everything else for almost a mile’s radius.
"The whale," said Natalie.
"Don’t worry. My energy can't hurt me or those I deem friendly."
"Is the whale friendly too?"
“What? Impossible…”
The behemoth which trapped them was fine. In fact, it was unscathed. The intestine they were in had expanded to accommodate the explosion and it was now quickly shrinking back.
“It grew a mile wide and back within seconds,” said Natalie. “We’ve underestimated it.”
“My gun…”
“Forget about it.”
“As I was saying,” Caroline interrupted. “This monster may not be so easy to escape from as we have presumed. We should explore it carefully, instead of being rash.”
“Or we can just fly out.” Natalie went back from where they came.
After letting out an audible sigh, the blue girl followed, while her box floated near her shoulder.
“What do you plan on doing with that?” asked Finn.
“Who cares?” said Natalie. “I’m sure whatever her plans are, she will remember who helped.”
Caroline felt her forehead grow warmer for some reason. She gulped and fell to the back of the group.
