The Heavenly Prince Descents

"Dawn! Dawn, are you alright?"

A panicked and loud call woke Dawn from his daze. He did not know how long he had been sleeping. He looked around and found that the place was completely unknown to him. White walls have a weird medicinal aroma in the void. Something was spinning at high speed on the ceiling.

He looked at the person closest to him in confusion. He asked, "Who are you?!"

The other person revealed a surprised expression and exclaimed, "Oh my god! Dawn, you do not remember me?"

Her voice was as if Oriole was singing. Dawn was surprised that the other person knew him. He could sense concern in her voice. However, he could not recall her.

He was about to ask her who she was and where he was when a strong pain erupted from the depth of his mind, and his face turned pale. He shivered and began to sweat profusely. Dawn gasped as the pain made his body stiffen with cramps.

The girl noticed his oddity and rushed out of the room, looking for a doctor. Dawn's mind flooded with memories that weren't his own. At this moment, he realizes that he has reincarnated in the world of mortals.

The human prince of the Spirit Shimmer Continent, Dawn Celestus, died. He was reborn as a mortal in a lower plane with the same name and face. In this life, he had a rather tragic background. His parents had passed away when he was seven years old, and his grandmother looked after him for some time before she also passed away from old age.

The isolated feeling of being left behind turned the jovial Dawn into a passively depressed person. The teenager finally picked himself up with the help of the young lady who greeted him earlier, Saffron Monroe, the daughter of a businessman. The girl was very charitable, and many people liked her, but they did not get too close to her because of her size.

They have known each other for a long time but only became friends three years ago. The similar feeling of isolation made the two of them rely on each other more than they would rely on anyone else ever.

The mercurial pain gradually subsided, and Dawn gradually calmed down. Saffron returned with a doctor. She was panting, and her eyes were concerned about Dawn. The doctor took Dawn's pulse, and the latter tried to resist a bit, but his body was not yet strong enough to move.

After a minute, the doctor sighed and said, "Young lady, his body is dehydrated, which is why the cramps occurred. Do not worry. With ample water intake, he will be fine."

The doctor was an old man, and his voice seemed to soothe Saffron's agitated mind. After nodding to Dawn, the doctor left the room. Dawn did not talk to the girl in a hurry. He wanted to sort his emotions out and find out the reason for what happened to him.

Saffron looked at him and asked, "Dawn, are you okay?"

Dawn nodded, and hesitantly, he said, "I would like to rest for a bit."

Saffron nodded and said, "Yes, you should rest. I will get some food from the cafeteria in the meantime. It would be best if you were hungry. After all, you have been unconscious for three days."

Dawn wanted to refuse, but his body was more honest, and a low rumbling noise sounded from his stomach. He sighed and nodded to her before closing his eyes.

Saffron left the room, and Dawn relaxed a bit. He began to deduce the reason for his reincarnation. He clearly remembers using the forbidden technique passed down by his father to destroy his body and soul.

He had killed an envoy from the dragon race who had come over to seek an alliance with the humans. Dawn was the most glorious human cultivator, who had reached the Immortal True spirit realm at just the age of fifteen. He was the strongest talent born in the human race.

However, in his rage, he killed the Dragon Prince and was tried in the court of the human emperor. His father had to choose between him and the rest of humanity. Dawn chose self-sacrifice over war. He did not regret what he did and even swore that one day he would return and kill his way through the dragon palace.

The question that troubled him was reincarnation. Only he or his father, who devised that forbidden technique, knew its consequences. The young prince's soul should have scattered to the winds.

After thinking for a while, Dawn could not find any other explanation. He sighed and thought, 'Fine. Rather than the past, I should focus on the present and the future. This world of mortals is where I shall roam until I am strong enough to ascend back to the Spirit Shimmer Continent.'

His mind calmed down, and he began to sort out the emotions inherited from his predecessor. Dawn found that his predecessor was bullied and often pranked, usually limited to jeers and taunts. The memories of that incident were somewhat fragmented, but he knew that his class representative, Trevor Hymn, had called him to the swimming pool for some reason.

Dawn could put things together and say that whatever happened to him that day was related to the class representative. So, Trevor Hymn was the prime suspect in the demise of his predecessor.

The remnant of his predecessor's consciousness was getting agitated as Dawn looked into the memories. He sighed and thought, 'Do not worry. You were a man who followed the path of virtue. The heavenly abode of souls is where you should rest. Your body is now my body. Your karma is now my karma, and so is your life. I will make all of them pay for what they did to you.'

The predecessor's consciousness calmed down, and after a brief pause, Dawn sensed the tightness around his heart gradually relaxing. He was not lying when he said he would make those people pay. Dawn may have possessed this body, but now it belonged to him.

Dawn sighed and exercised his joints a bit. The degree of familiarity with the body increased. He stood up on the floor. He wobbled around the room before jumping lightly on the spot. With every passing minute, he was getting more familiar with his body. Dawn practiced a set of taichi and found that his body was rather weak.

Frowning, he sat back on the bed and thought about how to get stronger when the door slid open. He looked up and found Saffron had returned with a couple of boxes in her hands. She came in and closed the door behind her. She said, "It is such a hassle to find good food. I was so hungry during the waiting time that I had to eat a few snacks."

She approached Dawn and handed him a box. The young man asked, "Saffie, do you know what happened to me that day?"

Saffron looked at him in confusion and asked, "You do not remember what happened that day?"

Dawn Celestus shook his head, and the girl said, "From what I know, the guard found you. They told the ambulance that they found you near the pool when lightning struck. Later, the doctor said that you had a trace of water in your lungs.

The doctors then concluded that you got struck by lightning. The theory is that you were trying to learn how to swim, but you injured the back of your head and were drowning. The lightning struck the pool, and the impact sent water and you out of the pool. He found you there only when the guard rushed up to check. So the lightning strike was a blessing in disguise, they said."

Dawn nodded while eating and asked, "What do you think happened?"

The young lady replied, "I have no idea, to be honest. I have never seen you do something like this in the past three years. Who would be so stupid to go swim in that stormy weather."

Dawn nodded and said calmly, "You are correct. I did not go there. Class Monitor Trevor called me to meet him."

Saffron stopped eating and raised her head in disbelief. She asked, "What do you mean? Trevor Hymn attacked you?"

Dawn nodded and said, "Yes, he called me there for something, and when I arrived there, he wasn't there. Then, I sensed a strong pain in the back of my head. After that, I woke up in this room."

Saffron clenched her fists and said, "This bastard, I will kill him!"

Dawn shook his head and said, "Do not act hastily. We do not have evidence. Let me recover, and I will deal with him. Keep this news to yourself that I am awake. If possible, can you look into his activities these days?"

Saffron was surprised, but she did not sense the chill in his calm tone. She was surprised but understood that Dawn wanted to take the path of sure kill and nodded. She said, "Do not worry, I will look into it."

Dawn Celestus thanked her and focused on eating. His next step was to strengthen his body before he engaged in battle with his enemy. After observing her best friend's changed behavior, Saffron had many questions, but instead of asking him, she decided to wait. Her intuition told her something big would happen, but she could not put her finger on it.
