POV Logan
"What the... You left just 3 hours ago!" said the receptionist, very surprised.
She opened the bag I had handed her, which now contained over 200 goblin ears. She remained stunned for a moment, casting glances between me and the bag.
"Can you count it and deduct the money to register me as a guild member, please." I said nonchalantly.
"Uh... All right, I... I'll do that right away." she replied falteringly.
I waited for some time, and then she returned with a silver coin and some copper coins.
"Here you go, taking into account your guild registration request." (Receptionist)
"Thank you, now, can you tell me where the library is?" (Logan)
"Wait, to complete your registration, you need to record your status on the card." (Receptionist)
"Not now, can we do that tomorrow?" (Logan)
"Seriously." she sighed.
After exhaling a soft sigh, she accepted my request and graciously pointed in the direction of the library, inviting me to explore its precious shelves. As soon as I walked through the library doors, I found myself in a vast room that seemed to stretch on endlessly. The shelves, tall and majestic, rose all around me, containing a plethora of books with various bindings.
At the entrance to this sanctuary of knowledge, another equally dedicated receptionist seemed to watch over this world of learning. I approached her to ask a question:
"Could you please guide me to the section dedicated to historical works?"
She kindly pointed me in the direction of the back of the library, where the treasures of the past were carefully organized. I then began my research, following my curiosity.
After a moment of exploration, I finally chose a table in a quiet corner of the library, where I delicately stacked a pile of books. Slowly, I opened one of them, letting the words transport me to a bygone era, where echoes of the past mingled with my thoughts.
The Kingdom of Sigma is located on the continent called Astra, with Sigma being one of the five great kingdoms. Among these five sovereign nations, Ecclésia, Rubis, Léonis, and Ria stand proudly, each with its own character, culture, and distinct ambitions. Sigma and Léonis have been enemies for as long as anyone can remember and have engaged in many wars, which hasn't prevented tensions between some countries. Ria, on the other hand, is a neutral kingdom and has been ruled by queens for many generations.
This world of swords and magic is under the protection of a goddess known to all on this land. The undisputed sovereign, watching over every corner of the land of Astra. Her cult is known as the Blue Church, named after the two moons that illuminate the starry nights of this world. The Blue Church is more than just a religious institution; it is one of the central pillars around which Astra's society and culture revolve.
This church, fervently devoted to the goddess Hamnésia, has a well-defined creed that has significantly shaped Astra's history. Its teachings are exclusively centered on the human race, considering humans as the chosen ones of the goddess, the guardians of her sacred heritage. Members of the Blue Church firmly believe in the exceptional destiny of humans, a belief that drives them to promote the supremacy of their race. They also vehemently persecute other races in a virulent and violent manner, although dwarves appear to be an exception due to their similarities with humans.
So, in the past, with the help of the goddess, the human race waged war on other races in her name and with her assistance. It was a total and horrific war known as the Bloody War. On one side, humans fought to assert their supremacy, and on the other, the other races fought for their freedom and the right to exist.

The resulting war was a titanic and bloody conflict that shook the foundations of Astra. Magical powers, armies, and resources were mobilized on both sides, turning the continent into a tragic battlefield. After many painful battles, massacres, and genocides, the humans ultimately triumphed with the divine help of Hamnésia.
Establishing themselves as the master race, the other races became their slaves forever. All races populating the continent were brutally subjugated, resulting in many more victims.
The defeated races, terrified by the fate that awaited them, scattered, seeking refuge in distant lands or hiding from the eyes of humans. Exiling themselves or concealing themselves in the shadows to avoid being violated, killed, and turned into mere slaves. The trauma of this major war left deep scars in Astra's history, fueling legends and tragic stories.
"This goddess is a confirmed racist and dominator; she makes me want to tear her throat out!" (Logan)
"Did you find what you were looking for?" said the receptionist, suddenly appearing.
It wasn't the librarian who managed the library but the one from downstairs, whom I had already dealt with.
"What are you doing here?" (Logan)
"Well, I thought I could help you with your research." (Receptionist)
"She could also help me understand the current situation." I thought before responding to her.
"Very well, um..." (Logan)
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself; I'm Marie, a receptionist from the Adventurer's Guild."
"I'm Logan."
"Pleased to meet you again." (Marie)
"Likewise. So, Marie, can you explain how to acquire skills and their rarity rankings?" (Logan)
"You can obtain skills in various ways, by leveling up or learning them, or even creating them." (Marie)
She left and returned with a book that she opened in front of me.
"Here is a book that lists various skills and how to acquire them; you can take it with you, but don't forget to return it." (Marie)
"Are there others?" (Logan)
"Of course, now regarding skills, they are classified into 3 types: there are completely normal skills. Then there are unique skills that are much rarer and harder to obtain. And finally, there are legendary skills, which are of great rarity and power, possessed by only a few rare individuals." (Marie)
I thought in my head to open my status, and my status appeared.
Name: Logan
Race: Human / Age: 18 years
Profession: Avenger - ??? /
Titles Earned:
* Goblin Exterminator.
* Merciless.
"Marie?" (Logan)
"Yes." (Marie)
"And where do the exclusive abilities come into play?" (Logan)
Marie fell silent for a moment before answering:
"Exclusive abilities are abilities that are reserved for only one person. Since they are possessed by a tiny number of individuals. They can be stronger or weaker than legendary ones, but since they are extremely rare, there is very little information about them. Do you have any other questions?"
"I can find everything by myself, the questions I need answers to by searching in books, and I'll learn by living here directly. However..."
"I have two more questions; the demon king was defeated 99 years ago, and dungeons started appearing just after his death?" (Logan)
"Indeed, it is assumed that there is a connection, but nothing has been proven." (Marie)
"What is your last question?" (Marie)
"From what I've read, there are several races besides humans: half-humans, demons, elves, dwarves. These four are the main ones, but of course, there are other races, including intelligent monsters." (Logan)
"That's correct, all races except dwarves are considered inferior to humans, and they were deliberately at war with them. Except for the kingdom of Ria, which believes that everyone is equal, and coexistence between races exists." (Marie)
"So, if I understand correctly, humans enjoyed killing, raping, and enslaving purely out of a sense of superiority, following this goddess." I said as rage had already swept over me as soon as I started reading these bits of history.
"...."
"Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!! Errors!!"
Marie looked at me perplexed for some reason before speaking to me:
"Logan, have your eyes always been red?" (Marie)
"Tell me, Marie, do you condone such things?" I replied without paying attention to her question.
"No, I find it abhorrent too, but it is the nobility that dictates the direction of the country." (Marie)
"I see, all that's left is to change it. But as a philosopher once said, before changing the world, start by changing yourself." (Logan)
