Sfx Chirp! Chirp~!

Still in the wee hours of the morning, the sky carried a splash of blueish tint along the streak of endless darkness. Waves of birdsongs rippled out amongst the trees planted by the sides of street, as though they were the alarm clocks for the civilians who lived nearby.

With a brightly coloured bag slung over both shoulders, Li Feng smiled as he enjoyed the caress of the morning breeze brushing against his face ever so gently, taking in a deep breath of the chilled air, he felt refreshed throughout.

Shifting the half framed spectacles that rested on the bridge of his pointed nose, he lifting his foot up and pushed himself even further before he placed it back onto the scratch ridden skateboard.

As Li Feng’s school was situated in the Renyi Area which was a long distance away, he needed the assistance of a vehicle just to reach his school compounds. Cash strapped, he refused to spend too much on bus fares and hence opted for the cheapest solution, a skateboard!

Cheap, durable and space saving, there are no better choice other than to get a skateboard as a mode of transportation!

Having been familiarised with the environment by the memories in his mind, he knows the area like the back of his hand. Equipped with a map that had already spread out within his mind, he passed through the routes that greatly decreased the time it took to reach his destination.

Swerving through the streets, he made impossible turns and just as he was enjoying the euphoric sensation that engulfed him whole, a masked man suddenly leaped out from nowhere, appearing right in Li Feng’s path while holding onto a purse.

As he did so, a series of pleading shouts rang out behind the man “Help! Catch the thief!”. Without turning to look at Li Feng, the masked man ran off in the other direction, pushing the civilians before him to the sides without mercy.

Li Feng smirked, the masked man just happened to run in the direction he was heading to, looking towards the lady that chased after him, he blurted out without much thought “Don’t worry, I’ll get him~” He said in a merry tone, leaving the woman staring at his back.

“Keke… A robber appeared coincidentally when i was just in need of a morning stretch.” Li Feng mused while he stared at the silhouette of the robber, increasing his speed, he closed the distance easily.

Few moments later

“W-why do you keep c-chasing me… Huff.. Wh-what did I do to you?!” Noticing that a person had tailing after him even after a few blocks, the masked man voiced out as he gasped for air.

“Nah, you are overthinking things.. We just happened to go into the same direction~” Li Feng curled his lips as he stood leisurely on the deck while the wheels did the work for him.

Few moments later

“Didn’t you say you weren’t chasing me?!?!”

“Like I said~ It’s all a coincidence~” Li Feng shrugged and bobbed his shoulders with a nonchalant expression, whistling away in a cherry tune as he looked elsewhere.

An eternity later

“G-gahh!! You say you weren’t chasing me but it had already been thirty minutes! Go away!!!” The masked man waved his hands behind him, flailing it around like a mad man in hopes to scare the pursuer away but to no avail.

“OH MY GOD! Maybe this is fate!” Li Feng exclaimed as he hammered a fist into his open palm with a tone of realization.

“FATE MY ASS! YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY CHASING AFTER ME!”

Ten minutes later

After the tiring game of cat and mouse, the masked man ran into a wide alley and forcefully yanked off the uncomfortable and disgusting mask that was drenched with sweat.

Throwing it to the side, he looked at the looming steel fences that obstructed his path and being the cowardly person that he was, he did not have any guts to climb over it.

Faced with no way out, he crouched behind a dumpster and clasped his hands while mouthing a silent prayer, hoping for no one to find him as the held the purse tightly into his embrace.

Sfx Vrrr~ Clack-Tack!

Stepping down from the board, Li Feng entered the alley with the skateboard in hand and examined the desolate area.

Soon, his sight landed onto a particular object on the ground that seemed eerily similar to the mask that the robber had. Seeing as to how the mask looked like the only thing that was wet, he smirked.

“Haaa… Looks like that idiot did not come here, damn it..” Li Feng’s voice echoed in the alleyway, which was soon followed by the sound of fading footsteps.

“Sighs… Looks like that idiot isn’t here.. Damn..” Li Feng’s voice echoed in the alleyway, which was soon followed by the sound of fading footsteps.

Sitting behind the dumpster, the masked man pumped his fist and held in the cry of excitement that was about to escape from his mouth. After waiting for a few minutes, he peered out to make sure that no one is around, he then wiped his sweaty palms against his shirt and reached into the purse.

“Kaha! I struck it rich!” He cried out loud in ecstasy after he peeled open the heavy envelope. Looking at the stack of red coloured bills contained within, he licked his lips as his eyes shone with greed.

“Hey, idiot!” A voice rang out from above, drawing the attention of the robber that drooled uncontrollably. After he looked up, his face paled as he saw a person grinning towards him which made him hold the envelope close to him as if protecting his treasure.

“We met again, maybe it’s the work of fate!” Li Feng said amusingly as he dated his eyes back and forth the robber whose face is exposed, crouching down, he extended his hand and snapped his fingers, dragging him back to reality.

“Ahh!” The middle aged man shrieked as he hurriedly covered his face and backpedalled while waving a hand before him with panic “Didn’t you leave already?!” His muffled voice rang out behind the envelope which covered half of his chubby face.

“Yeah.. I left and came back, you dropped your money by the way..” Li Feng said as he pointed towards the ground.

Sfx Click! Kacha~

Hearing Li Feng’s words, he got tricked and lowered the envelope that covered his face but soon after he did that, a “ Click ” sound rang out, looking up, he saw Li Feng holding up a phone with a smiling face.

Knowing that he had gotten his picture taken, the robber’s face crumbled down immediately.

“My little ancestor, my little grandfather, why do you torture me like this… ” The man spoke in a crying tone, his chubby face wobbled like a rippling wave as he squeezed out a couple of tears.

Sfx Thud! Thud! Thud!

Just as Li Feng was about to speak, a series of approaching footsteps rang out behind him and as soon as they saw the figure, Li Feng’s raised a brow while the robber’s face sulked.

The person in question was a young man seemingly in his twenties, clothed in a nice fitting police uniform, he rushed over to where they were with an authoritative face but in Li Feng’s eyes, it only made him look like a man with a serious constipation problem.

After chasing a few streets after receiving a call of help, the newbie officer chased after the direction where the woman was pointing at without a moment of hesitation, huffing and puffing, he finally got to the scene.

Seeing as to how Li Feng was conversing nicely with the robber, the officer had immediately thought that both of them were in cahoots and when they turned their heads over, it made him panic.

“P-p-put your hands up!” Shouting out loud, the officer hurriedly reached for his pistol but couldn’t seem to get it out as he was too nervous while being eyed at.

Sfx Clink~ Clank~ Clink~

Five painful minutes later, he finally got a hold of the pistol and aimed it towards the both of them while sweating bullets.

Definitely a newbie.. Looking at the pathetic state the young officer was in, Li Feng and the robber exchanged a single glance and sighed while similar thoughts ran through their minds.

“Why are the both of you looking at me like that?! Put your hands up! Now!” Filled with embarrassment and a little anger, the young officer raised his volume when he noticed that he was being looked at with disdainful gazes.

“Sir, why are you so nervous? If we wanted to hurt you, do you think we would wait here so patiently for you to get your weapon?” The robber shook his head as he explained like those of a kind elderly giving advice to a junior.

“S-Shut up!” The officer thought the same but was too prideful to admit the fact so he roared out in an attempt to disguise his embarrassment.

“So rash, don’t you think so too youn-“ The robber shook his head again, and looked towards his side for affirmation but was dumbfounded when Li Feng had long since raised up his hands with a look of innocence.

“Hurry up and put both of your hands up, what are you waiting for? Christmas?!” Hearing the annoying voice incessantly ringing out within his ears, the robber then raised his hands up a little reluctantly while the hands on the purse’s strap loosened.

Letting out a sigh, the young officer pressed closer but in the moment that he let down his guard, the robber saw an opportunity and sneered, kicking the purse towards the cop and reached for his pocket.

“Gaa-!” Getting hit in the face with a purse, the young officer groaned but the sight of the encroaching blade made his face livid. Forgetting that he had a firearm, he pulled his arms up before him by reflex and shut his eyes, his mind churning in preparation for the incoming shot of pain but it never came.

Opening his eyes, the young officer gasped with horror as a blade was positioned inches away from his face. Stumbling, he fell on his buttocks which made him realize that if it wasn’t for Li Feng’s intervention, there would be a gaping hole in his face right now.

A feeling of admiration and gratification swelled within him when he stared towards Li Feng who held a calm disposition throughout.

Gripping down onto the chubby arms of the robber, Li Feng looked on with indifference as the robber tried to escape his unbreakable clasp. Clenching tightly, he lifted his thumb and pressed down his wrist.

“Gaah!” The robber cried out as jolt of pain ran up his entire arm, Li Feng seeing this smiled and swiftly turned the robber’s wrist around while his right leg swept the back of the robber’s legs causing him to crash into the ground.

Sfx Clink! Tink~

Exerting a little force into his grip, the knife fell from the robber’s grasp and onto the ground. Turning towards the officer, Li Feng extended a hand to which the young officer grabbed and got up.

Soft… The young officer thought as his fingers twitched in reminiscence while staring blankly at the person who helped him up.

“What the fuck are you staring at?” Li Feng hissed as the officer was standing like a block of wood “Hurry up and cuff him!” Still pissed off about being pointed at with a gunpoint, he didn’t withhold any mercy and spoke harshly.

“Ah Y-yes!” Breaking out from his thoughts, the young officer did not think much of how Li Feng spoke and hurriedly cuffed the robber after pulling a pair of handcuffs from his waist.

“Umm… T-this g-gentleman, w-would you please follow me to the police station for a statement?” The young officer spoke with a little trepidation after Li Feng displayed his prowess, he certainly did not want to be at the brunt of what the robber had gotten and hence switched his tone into one of politeness.

“Hm… I still have to attend school though?” Li Feng pulled out his phone and checked for the time as he spoke with a little reluctance.

“A-ah! N-no worries, I’ll inform them about your circumstances so please..” The young officer puffed out his chest and promised but inwardly, he was praying for this little ancestor to follow him back so that he can get an achievement.

“Hmmmm…. A-alright… * Sigh *” Li Feng sighed out loud, but he was sneering in his mind, of course he knew what the officer was thinking about so he did it intentionally to gain his favour.

To his expectations, the young officer’s face beamed after hearing that and nodded repeatedly like a chicken pecking towards the ground.

“GRRR..-Gah!” As the robber struggled, Li Feng stepped on him with his foot and handed him to the officer. Without waiting for the officer to speak, Li Feng drilled into the police vehicle that he drove and acted like everything wasn’t related to him.

Seeing this, the officer shook his head with a wry smile and dragged the heavy weight robber back.

◊ Renyi Police Station ◊

After reaching the station, Li Feng was sent into a dimly lit room with a bright lamp emanating a bright glare towards his face.

The whole room is quite small and except for the lamp on the metallic desk, there was no other source of lighting which made the atmosphere a little repressed.

It was to no wonder why the police officers chose this type of room to interrogate as it puts a heavy psychological burden on the supposed victim to force information out of them but is Li Feng a normal person, definitely not.

Leaning back into a slightly more comfortable position onto the chair, he then crossed his arms before his chest and took a little nap.

“Zzzzz” His snores echoed within the confines of the enclosed room, but a loud bang soon broke the relaxed atmosphere that Li Feng had created. With half open eyes, he saw a creamy white hand being placed atop the desk’s surface.

Turning his gaze upwards, he saw a beauty scenery which made his eyes glitter. A field of snow white, with an alluring gorge in the middle separating the two bunnies that was bounded tightly by the police uniform.

“Is it beautiful?” An emotionless voice rang out coldly in the ears of Li Feng who was “ Appreciating ” the piece of art displayed before him.

“It is indeed beautiful~” Li Feng said in a tone filled with certainty.

“…”

“It would be better if the police uniform isn’t there… Seeing as to how the beautiful peaks are being chained down by it, I feel my heart breaking into pieces…” Getting no reply, Li Feng then continued on sadly.

“Shameless..” The emotionless voice rang out once more, but contained more of a little humanity within.

Li Feng looked up with a smile, standing before him was yet another beauty. A uniformed beauty which almost all men dream of at one point of their lives, mostly accompanying them throughout the night.

Standing probably around a hundred and seventy centimetres of height, wavy raven black hair cascaded down the sides of her oval face and down to her tightly bounded bosom which undulated with her breaths.

Her long eyelashes fluttered as she stared straight at Li Feng with her beautiful and clear black eyes as though she was trying to see through all of his secrets. Li Feng could tell that she did not put on much make up so she was in the category of those natural born beauties.

Slowly, her supple lips parted “Name..” She spoke as she took a seat opposite of Li Feng, adjusting the light closer to his face but was annoyed when she got a smile in response.

“Beauty officer, you know that you should say yours before asking for another’s name?”

“Name…”

“I am not going to answer you until you give me your name~”

“..Name…”

“…”

“… Chen Bing Bing…” Thinking that it wouldn’t harm her for this brat to know her name, so she willingly gave out her name.

“What a beautiful name~ Bing Bing Jie, my name is Li Feng~”

“Age..”

“Seventeen, single and ready to mingle~”

“Keep unnecessary comments to yourself..”

“Yes my dear Bing Bing Jie~”

“Gender…”

“… Would you like me to unzip?” Li Feng raised his brow, isn’t this an obvious question?

“Gender..” She spoke once more after placing a pistol on the desk.

“Male~”

“Recount what happened earlier…”

“Well, I was on my way to school and felt my right eyelid twitching and you know what they say, if the right eyelid twitches it means good luck but all of a sudden… I heard a cry for help so being the heroic person that I was, I rushed to the scene and found a lady crying for help

* Sigh * Alas, I am too kind hearted and so even though I have to attend school, I chased after the robber block after block, street after street and you know how tiring that was? Even though the experience was excruciating, I trudged on with willpower and finally chased him down.

Without a care for my wellbeing, I rushed into the hideout and bam bam bam, pow pow pow, my beautiful body was riddled with scars and bruises but recalling how the woman was crying so poorly, I pressed on and fought with my life at stake!

After three hours of fighting, the young officer came and I handed the robber over to him and you know what happened next, I was brought here and found out that it was my good luck that I met a beauty like Bing Bing Jie so it was all worth it!” Li Feng recounted his story whilst added seasoning onto it and ended as he smiled towards Chen Bing Bing.

“…” Although she was silent, Li Feng caught the fleeting smile of hers and spoke in response “ Bing Bing Jie, you should smile more, you look more beautiful that way hehe..” Li Feng chuckled.

“…Well, wait here for a moment..” Chen Bing Bing didn’t have any changes in her face to his words and stood up, her perky buttocks twisted alluringly as she exited the room.

After a brief moment, a middle aged man walked in with the young officer trailing behind timidly.

Taking a seat in Chen Bing Bing’s chair, the middle aged man clasped his hands together and looked at Li Feng with a little curiosity before speaking “Li Feng right? I heard that you have brought in a criminal today, you have done a very good deed!” He spoke in a kind tone.

“It’s nothing much old man, but as you know, after painstakingly taking down the criminal, my beautiful body is riddled with scars and bruises * Sigh * What should I do? I don’t have any money to visit a doctor..” Li Feng lifted a hand up and pretended to wipe his tears away.

“..Gahahahaha! Don’t worry, you will be awarded with a medal-“ Before he could finish speaking, Li Feng cried out even louder “Aiyooo~ My money~”

The young officer who was witnessing this paled and secretly gave Li Feng a thumbs up as he was the only one who had the guts to speak to the station commanded in that way.

“Of course, that medal can be exchanged for money, here.” The man handed over an envelope which contained money.

“Oh my~ How could I bear to take this? I am only doing what a citizen should!” Regardless of how he spoke, his fingers clamped tightly onto the envelope seemingly refusing to let go.

After the constant hypocrisy between the two, it finally ended with Li Feng stuffing the money down his pocket with a bright smile plastered across his face.

“Brat, I heard that this young officer here pulled out a gun and pointed it at you?” He asked while pointing towards the shivering officer behind him.

One has to know that an officer pulling out a gun on unarmed citizens under no threats to their lives are to be dealt with heavily and knowing that, the young officer trembled while his head hung low.

“Did that happen? I don’t remember any of it?” Li Feng scratched the back of his head in puzzlement. Hearing his words, the young officer lifted his head as he stared unblinkingly towards Li Feng brimming with gratitude.

“Hahaha! Is that so, I am glad!” The middle aged man smiled and scratched his chin, reaching down to his chest pocket, he handed a card over to Li Feng “Stupid brat, this is my name card, call me if you need me.”

“Hai Lao Tou ( Old Man / Old Head – Direct Translation ), if there is nothing else, I am going to leave, I still have classes to attend.”

Outside the station, Li Feng was accompanied with the young officer who trotted behind, standing at the gates “Feng Da Ge, do you need me to give you a ride?” Ling Fei inquired politely, its only right to call Li Feng Da Ge as he had done too big of a favour to him.

“Nah, my school is near this area, just remember to inform them that I was only late because I was giving a statement..” Li Feng waved his hands dismissively.

“Alright Feng Da Ge, here is my name card, call if you need me.” Ling Fei handed over his name card and watched as Li Feng disappeared into the distance.

“Ling Fei and Ling Da Hai, father and son eh, so that’s why he gave me his name card keke.. No harm done anyways~” Li Feng flicked the edge of the name cards and stuffed them into his wallet.

In order to survive in this society, one needs connection and that was why he followed Ling Fei to the station and even helped him out, a part of the reason was also for the money but one thing he never expected was that Ling Da Hai, that old man to offer him a name card.

A name card may seem like nothing to others but in the eyes of Li Feng, it was akin to a life line that he could utilize during desperate times.

▪••● ●●● ●● ● ●● ●●● ●••▪

“Dad, why did you give him your name card?” Back at the station, Ling Fei inquired as he did understand the reasons behind his father’s actions.

“Does helping others always require a reason? If not for his words, you would be dealt with by now, being a human, one must have loyalty, you help others and others will help you in return.

That kid is also a little crafty, even with my old eyes, I can’t see through him… Rather than conversing with a brat whose hair haven’t even grown out yet, it felt more like I was talking to an old fox… That kid isn’t as simple as you think he is..” Ling Da Hai spoke out his evaluations of Li Feng.

“Remember, for these types of people, it would be better for them to stay either as neutrals or allies rather than enemies..” Ling Da Hai warned to which Ling Fei complied.
