Nerys walks to the edge of the woods as she stops in her tracks as she listens for the wind howling in front of her. She feels a tense atmosphere, she looks around her but there is no one there besides her. A loud screech pierces her ears from the distance. She runs towards the sounds and draws her battle worn sword, as she looks over the crest she a huge bear looking monster trying to stomp someone to death as 2 other humanoid monsters with wings circle around the man fighting for his life.
As Nerys sprints forward to the battlefield the man uses magic to push the winged monsters away, as she gets closer she notices similarities between him and the other person he fought with.
"They're screechers watch out!" The man yells in the midst of battle.
Nerys holds up her sword as the monster flies towards her. She dodges the attack as the monster screams with an ear piercing sound. The girl holds her ear with her free hand as the Screecher tries deafening her. She leans forward as she launches off her feet with her shadow extending out pushing her with great speed towards the monster. She tries stabbing it as it dodges to her left. She swings around pulling her shadow with her towards the monster's direction. The shadow turns into a huge flame as it covers the screecher burning it alive.
As the man evades the attacks he glances over as his long hair flows with his motion, to see the girl fight with such aggression. He quickly focuses back on the beast as it tries hitting him from the top once again. He swings and slashes at it's feet as he dodges. He immediately follows it up with a stab through it's leg, he jumps away from the monster before it can counter attack. He takes a deep breath as his darkness gathers in his eyes, the beast immediately stops and glances at the man but launches forward.
For him now this was a walk in the park, he stands at ease as the beast jumps towards him merely a few feet is between him and it's claws. He swings arounds it's attack with his cold sword rubbing alongside it's skin. He slashes the monster's side open and stabs it. But the beast still stands tall and tries to attack back swinging it's front legs wildly with the sword stuck in it's side.
Meanwhile the girl slashes the other screecher time after time making it wounded all over. Just as it attacks once again the girl blocks it's attack as the monster holds on to the sword with it's claws and along with it's loud screech the sword breaks in half. The girl jumps backwards a few times creating a distance between them. She puts her hands down on the ground as her shadow gets swallowed up. The atmosphere changes as the girl extends her arms out and a huge wall of fire flies towards the monster in the sky. A black tear falls down her face as she clunches her fists an the fire burns in a bright light at the monster and disappears leaving only ashes to fall down to the ground.

The man looks at the girl with the same disbelief she showed earlier in town to the master who told him about the prophecy becoming true. As his attention returns to the beast just as it was about to hit him he dodged under and pushed it's front leg away with magic making the monster lose it's balance. The girl crosses her arms as she watches the man go to finish the beast. As he pulled out his sword the beast relentlessly hits him and pushes him a few meters away from him and goes to crush him to death. The girl once again launches forward appearing right next to the beast as her hand is engulfed in flames in the shape of a spear. She thrusts her hand in the best as it immediately cries out and falls to the ground lighting up in flames with a dagger in it's eyes Cadmus stuck in it.
As the beast dies out on the ground Nerys notices the dagger and pulls it out and turns around to look at the man. The dagger had the same engravings as Uthleg, the hunter from the woods.
"My hunch was correct, you are also a hunter." She hands the dagger back to him as his eyes return to normal and he smiles.
"And you would make a good one too."
"I don't trust your lot after you ignored my father's wishes after all he's done for you!" The girl scoffs at Cadmus.
"Your father was the king? Where did you learn these kinds of arts? I did not know mages of the realm are this powerful." He looks even more confused and in disbelief.
"I guess it's natural, why do you care anyways?"
"Because this power cannot fall in the wrong hands!" He points towards the pile of ashes that was the screecher, slowly being blown away by the wind.
The girl looks away and ponders.
"Look, i am not good in politics, but your father's kingdom is long gone and if you want to do anything to restore it to it's glory you can't just do that on your own."
"Who said i want to do that?" The girl scoffs at the man again.
"Then what do you want?" The man raises his voice at the girl who stands uncertainly.
"I guess i don't know..." The girl looks down after she lowers her tone.
"Well come with me, at least for a while, you don't even have a sword to protect you anymore." Cadmus whistles as his steed walks up to them and stops as he tries to get on. She looks at the girl and stops for a second. "Where is your horse?" The girl stands in awkward silence as she scratches the back of her head. Cadmus sighs and gets on his horse.
"Come on, let's get you a horse... and a sword."
The girl gets on behind Cadmus as they walk towards a sign and ride towards Pakkaheim a neighbour of Miria. A land covered in snow and has frozen rivers around it's landscape making for a rare war target, and a good hideaway with scarce villages and towns. But will a dragon fly with frozen wings?
