Chapter 31 : Lurking Danger

Chapter 31 : Lurking Danger

Inside the Fracture Restorer's Alliance building.

Cale and Soojin sat in front of each other. "How are things going?" asked Cale seriously, looking Soojin in the eyes.

"It’s still the same," Soojin looked down with a serious expression.

"Is it really that bad?" Cale folded his arms.

"Yeah, those Fracture criminals are increasing day by day," Soojin looked Cale in the eyes with a furrowed expression.

"Is only our country like this?" Cale looked angry as he turned his head sideways.

"No, Cale, every country has Fracture criminals. Criminals in jail also broke out and went into hiding. Now they are repeating the same cycle again," Soojin tightly held both hands in anger as he looked at Cale.

"I can't even waste time with them..." Cale said as he gritted his teeth, "...I have to restore the C-Rank Fractures now. I will go and stabilize the places with them. Until then, keep them in check until I return," Cale stood and started to leave as he gave Soojin three sheets of paper.

"...Oh, and take care of the kids until then," Cale turned around and glanced at Soojin.

"Don't worry, I will..." Soojin replied with a smile. "Just don’t die or I’ll have to do all the work," Soojin looked him in the eye and then laughed.

"...Sure," Cale turned and left as the door shut.

Cale stepped out the door and walked among the people as he thought, 'I will have to quickly restore the level 30 C-Rank Fractures, and then it will be "his turn",' his face darkened.

...

In front of a Fracture glowing blue and black, guards were stationed, not permitting anyone to go near it. News reporters stood on the left and right.

A black car arrived and stopped; all reporters turned to look at it, and the door opened as Cale stepped out. Once again, flashes of light were thrown at him. Cale made his way to the Fracture as they asked him several questions.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

'So annoying,' Cale thought as he looked at the crowd with a smile.

"Sir, what do you think about the talents you selected?" One of them asked as he stepped forward.

"They’re amazing talents," Cale turned around to leave, but a shout came from behind. 'Now what?' thought Cale as he turned around.

"Sir, are you a C-Rank now??!" The same girl from last time asked him.

"Yes, I am," Cale replied. 'Of course, who do you think I am?' What Cale was thinking was different from what he said.

"Now if you’ll excuse me," Cale walked inside the Fracture quickly, giving them no chance for further questions.

Cale stepped inside the Fracture, and instead of being filled with rocks and trees, it was filled with a swamp. The stench made Cale cover his nose. "EW," muttered Cale.

"I should probably travel by trees," he muttered as he jumped up and landed on a tree branch.

'Now let's inspect.' In front of Cale, a System Panel appeared.

[Information (Info):

Name: Frogmen Fracture

Difficulty: C-Rank (Lvl 30)

Description: Frogmen live inside this swamp Fracture. They attack with handmade spears and spit poisonous venom.

Weakness: Fire and cold]

"Fire and cold, huh? Yeah, I can do that," he muttered and then jumped from one branch to the other.

For quite some time, Cale searched. Two light blue Frogmen were walking through the swamp, holding handmade rock spears. When suddenly something fell from the tree and cut the head off one Frogman, making the other turn around, raising his spear.

A long scythe cut through the spear. The Frogman, seeing his weapon cut in two halves, started to run away.

But a shadow loomed over him as he looked behind. The Frogman saw Cale as he swung the long dark scythe, cutting the head of the Frogman easily.

"Eight down," he muttered, as he shook the scythe, getting rid of the green blood.

Cale placed the scythe on his shoulder as he started walking through the swamp. "Where is the Frogmen boss?" Cale jumped up and stood on a branch, looking down as five Frogmen appeared from the bushes.

'Let’s just follow them this time.' The Frogmen felt a cold chill on their backs but had no idea what it was, making them more vigilant.

Throughout the entire time, the Frogmen had no idea what this bad feeling was, but they felt chilled the entire time.

...

After a while, the five Frogmen entered an open space with several other Frogmen. They started communicating with each other in their own language, also making signs and pointing in different directions.

Cale raised an eyebrow at their language, but he focused more on their directions. 'Isn’t that the direction I killed the eight Frogmen?' Cale looked at the Frogmen with more interest now.

'Who is the one giving such information?' he looked at them more closely, trying to figure out anything.

Suddenly, a handmade rock spear came at Cale at high speed, and he jumped to another branch quickly enough for anybody to notice.

"THUD," with a loud bang, the tree was destroyed by the spear.

A large Frogman appeared from the place where the spear had come from. The large Frogman was dark blue as he held an iron spear. As it looked at the trees, it shouted while pointing at them.

'So you’re the Frogmen boss,' Cale stared at the Frogmen boss while hiding as he smiled.
