GAHHHH. I woke up howling in pain, feeling multiple bite marks on my precious and tender tail. WHY WOULD SOMEONE DO THAT? I hugged my tail and quickly scouted my surroundings. Who is the culprit behind this evil? I spotted a certain royal female Leza grinning at me evilly, laughing at my demise. I pouted at her and asked her whether she was the one who committed this crime. However, she argued back, stating that she was punishing an offender, as I didn’t listen to her order to wake up. I protested against her argument, but she didn’t budge no matter what. So I just gave up and asked for breakfast.

I paced around this small burrow, not really listening to her answer. But when I got to the stockpile of food, I found nothing left. I quickly turned around questioning the disappearance of our food. Did someone raid our base? Where is our food? She just smirked at me and asked whether I was listening to her. She proceeded to tell me that it was penalty for not obeying her. I looked at her smug face and nearly let out a tear. This Leza will be the end of my life.

I wanted to go to a corner and cry grief away, but she would probably use it as another excuse to hurt me. Sigh. Why do people enjoy hurting me so much? I slowly got back up from my depressed state and headed out of the burrow with Ques.

We walked towards the nesting tree of the Golden Crest eagles in silence, making sure we do not alert anything. We took our own sweet time as it was only morning and we still had quite a while to collect the remaining eggs, but the distance was quite short, so we arrived within a few minutes. Before we started scaling the tree, Ques said that we should split the task, with her covering the left side and me covering the right. She also told me to carve out small footpaths on the bark, making it easier to come back down while carrying eggs. So I listened to her advice and made small indentations with my claws while climbing my section of the tree.

I got to my first nest after a while. I immediately consumed 3 of them and carried the rest back to our burrow. I continued with my laborious task afterwards. I was marveled by the sheer amount of nests on this tree. It seems like there are no shortage of nests. Why are there so many nests? Are they from multiple Golden Crest eagles or just one? And why are there nobody guarding this tree? Although I had many questions, I continued with my tiring task.

I climbed. I transported eggs. I ate them when I got hungry. It was very repetitive and exhausting, I hardly even saw Ques during this period. However, I alone collected around 7 eggs and consumed 3 eggs, making this very profitable. I was on my last trip gathering eggs when I stumbled across one particular egg that caught my attention. It wasn’t like the normal eggs, the normal eggs had a lusterless gold shell while this one had a brilliant gold shell. I didn’t hesitate to eat this, I immediately took this one into my mouth and ate it.

I gasped at this marvelous change in luck, it looked like I ate some kind of royal Golden Crested eagle. I quickly grabbed another egg and ran back to the operation base, scared that another eagle will come back. I decided not to tell Ques about this special egg, she will probably beat the shit out of me for not letting her have some of it. Speak of the devil; just as I got back, she just so happens to be at the front of the burrow, kinda making me nervous. I greeted her with an awkward smile, asking her what’s up. She was staring at me with a weird look though. Can she read my mind? This Leza is making me very nervous, I am actually starting to break out in sweat.

“Did you eat something special?” she suddenly straightened her head and asked me.

OH CRAP! SHE FOUND OUT! I quickly bowed down and explained everything that happened, I even went as far as to apologize for not sharing. She laughed and said that the new change looked good. Change? I checked my body out for any chang, but I couldn’t see anything. I asked her what happened to me, she said that I had a diamond shaped golden scale on the middle of my forehead. I couldn’t see my face, so I just took her word and hoped that it does look good. We then calculated the amount of eggs we collected and found out that we gathered an astonishing amount of fourteen eggs, three more than her estimate. I asked her if she leveled up during the job, she said that she didn’t, but is very close to leveling up. I told her that I leveled up and decided to check out my own stats and show it to her.

Hmm? Nothing here explains my golden scale? Well, maybe it’s a trophy/medal of some sort? It makes me look cooler anyway. I think. Apart from the confusion with the golden scale, everything else looks fine.

After showing her my stats, she decided that she wanted to spar, which kinda shocked me. I mean, she is at an obvious disadvantage with lower strength and level. Nonetheless, I decided to comply, as I didn’t want to be seen as a coward that is not willing to fight females.

We started off about a metre away from each other, staring at each other trying to predict who will make the first move. After a short few seconds that seemed like eternity, I lunged at her, deciding to make the first move. I had higher strength, meaning that I should gain the upper hand in close combat. Just as I got into my tail’s range from her, I swept my tail at her face, trying to block her vision. However, she ducked under my tail and lunged at me. I quickly tossed my tail backwards to shift my momentum and get away from her, but she was a bit quicker and head-butted me at my stomach. I got knocked back a few steps and gritted my teeth as the impact against the floor knocked the breath out of me. I quickly got up and cursed under my breath as I forgot that she had higher speed. Just as I managed to get up, she was already sprinting towards me, trying to bash me I think. I moved to the side just in time, with her tail brushing my side slightly. I grabbed her tail and yanked it to the opposite direction she was running, upsetting her balance and making her fall. I then sat on her back and pulled her hands towards me, putting her in an awkward position. I felt relieved that I finally beat her and asked her whether she would concede. She confused me by rejecting me offer, I then stared at her back wondering how she could escape.

Immediately after, I felt my arms going numb and stiff. I tried to let go of her, but then a huge static shock running up my arms. SHIT. IT. FUCKING. HURT. I Let go of her arms and quickly ran backwards, distancing myself from her. But that was a mistake too. She sent out small bolts of lightning that gave me a stinging sensation when hit. It didn’t hurt as much as her initial discharge, but it hurt enough to make me want to avoid it. This made it quite troublesome as she kept aiming it at my feet and I would have to jump up to avoid the small yet painful sparks. She saw my obvious disliking to the lightning and grinned, sending more sparks at a faster rate towards me. I got hit by quite a number of the sparks and only felt pain as I continued to get hit. However, a sign suddenly popped up in front of me.

This change delighted me as I actually felt like I could shrug off the pain from her attacks right now. I turned my head to smile at her, its payback time bitch. Before I did anything, I made my point clear by cracking my knuckles. I will enjoy this.

Then, a large bellow thundered out. Bringing the current fight between me and Ques to a halt. It seems like we can go back now.

I’m sorry this one took so long. I was thinking about the direction I want this story to go to. I was thinking about adding xianxia themes into it, but then I couldn’t figure out how. I decided that I will be biting of more than I can chew if I try to incorporate xianxia themes in it, so I’m probably gonna make it more like Re: Monster.
