? : “Big Brother wake up, mom said she’s making breakfast.”
?: “Alright, Alright, I’m getting up.”
I start heading to the kitchen.
?: “Sean how long are you going to sleep for, you only have till tomorrow before you start 2nd grade.”
Sean: “I know mom, huh…….where are Simon and Taylor?”
Mom: “They already ate breakfast and are in the bathroom brushing their teeth.”
Sean: “How come Chloe didn’t eat yet?”
Chloe: “Big Brother I waited for you, since both of our birthdays are on the same day we start school we should hurry back home to celebrate.”
Sean: “I know, let’s discuss this after we eat ok?”
Chloe: “Okayyyyyy”
?: “She’s very attached to you Sean, why is that?”
Sean: “Oh hey dad, I don’t really know, we always are together no matter where we go. That reminds me Chloe how old are you turning?”
Chloe: “You don’t know!?!”
Chloe puffs her cheeks
Sean: “I’m just kidding, you’re turning 5 right?”
Chloe: “Nooooooo, I’m turning 6! I will be entering the 1st grade and it will be my first time going to your school, you better show me around.”
Mom and Dad start smiling but turned sad when looking at us interact.
Sean: “My bad, let’s go brush our teeth since we finish eating.”
Chloe: “Fine! We better play games together for the whole day.”
Sean: “I know, I know.”
(Sean heads to the bathroom while Chloe follows but forces him to hold her hand)
(MOM POV Switch)
Dad: “Did you tell them yet?” (Whispers)
Mom: “Of course not I was going to wait till tomorrow.” (Whispers)
Dad: “Try to talk to all of them ok?” (Whispers)
Mom: “Fine!”
(Sean POV Switch)
Sean: “Make sure your teeth are white and clean.”
Chloe: “I know, stop treating me like a child.”
Sean: “I can’t help it you are my little sister, and I love you very much.”
Chloe: “I know, thank you big brother.”
Sean: Hey let's go to my room to play some videogames ok, Taylor and Simon should be waiting for us.”
Chloe: “Kayyy”
Chloe acts like a child sometimes; I do wonder why she always sticks next to me wherever I go. It became an issue where she blocks the door when I tried to go to school when I started 1st grade. Mom told me she cried for most of the day when I was in school. When she picked me up from school and headed home, Chloe was right there in front of the doorway with watery eyes running to hug me. Taylor and Simon, doesn’t do that but I guess Chloe and I have a bond.
We headed to my room and Taylor and Simon were there waiting for me holding a controller.
Taylor: “Sean today's the day you’re going to lose.”
Sean: “Yeah, Yeah, You said that how many times?”
Simon: “Every day for a least a year now and counting.”
Sean: “You’ve been counting?”
Simon: “Yeah, it passes the time.”
Chloe: “Let’s play!”
Sean: “Yeah she’s right, what are the teams?”
Taylor: “Chloe, Simon and I versus you.”
Sean: “Still forming unfair teams huh?”
Taylor: “You’re too good at the game so it’s only fair!”
Sean: “Ok what are the bets then, I will wager my box of Reese’s candies.”
Everybody started drooling
Simon: “I will wager my ice cream money for today.”
I look at his hand it’s about 3 dollars.
Taylor: I will wager my dolls.”
Sean: “Nope I already have enough of your dolls now, wager something else.”
Taylor: “Its limited edition though!”
Sean: “You said that same exact line for the last 100 dolls Taylor! I had to give them to the girls in my class since I didn’t want them.”
Chloe tugs my shirt and when I looked at her she and she puffed her cheeks again she must be mad.
Sean: “What is it?”
Chloe: “Who are these girls!?!”
Sean: “Well they are just classmates Chloe.”
Chloe: “Fine I will see them when I go over to your class tomorrow.”
Sean: “Fine” (sighing)
Taylor: “I will wager ummmmmm…”
Sean: “Your sour patch”
Taylor: “What do you mean?”
Sean: “There’s a sour patch inside your pillowcase that you been hiding from mom and dad.”
Taylor: “How did you know?”
Sean: “I have my sources.”
Chloe: “Yup I told him.”
Sean: “Chloe that was supposed to be a secret.”
Chloe: “O”
Taylor: “Chloe you betrayed me, we are trying to beat him.”
Chloe: “I don’t hide things from big brother, it’s bad enough I’m on your team.”
Taylor: “Tsk, Fine I will wager my sour patch.”
Chloe: “Ok my turn; if we win I get to sleep in your bed tonight big brother.”
Everybody started to shake their head. I place my hand on her head and gave her a crooked smile.
Chloe: “What is it?”
Sean: “Chloe with Taylor betting dolls every time and you with the same thing for a year straight is there anything you can actually wager on.”
Chloe shows her doggy cry face
Chloe: “I can’t ask for that request?” (Starting to cry)
Sean: “Fine you can keep that request.”
I started to head to the game console to turn it on and Chloe ran in front of me and hugged me.
Chloe: “Thank you big brother.”
Taylor & Simon: “No fair”
I swear I thought Chloe stuck her tongue out making fun of them.
Sean: “Let’s just play, we wasted 5 minutes already, we have 4 hours before lunch. Let’s see if you guys can beat me.”
Taylor: “Today's the day you lose”
Simon: “Yup, I’m feeling good about this.”
Chloe: “Everybody, teamwork can beat him.”
(20 minutes later)
Sean: “These sour patch kids are pretty good thanks Taylor for buying them with your own money.” Do tell me again if you happen to get more.”
Taylor: “Not one kill, how did we not get one kill on you!!!!!!?”
Simon: “I said it once and I say it again, he’s cheating somehow.”
Taylor: “It has to be!”
Sean: “Stop being a sore loser.”
I grinned while finishing the sour patch.
Chloe: “You guys suck, now I won’t get my dream.”
Taylor: “Be quiet, I know you sneak into his bed every night.”
Chloe: “So”
Taylor: “So!?! Your wager was absolutely cheating. You had nothing to lose.”
Chloe: “Well if you were better at the game maybe we could have won.”
Taylor: “Better!!! We all had zero kills Chloe.”
Sean: “Hey stop arguing, she’s your older sister.”
Taylor: “She’s only one year older than me and Simon when her birthday comes.”
Sean: “So, she’s still your older sister so you have to respect her. Anyway…….. hold on.”
Chloe: “Where are you going?”
Sean: “I’ll be back in 2 minutes okay?”
Chloe runs towards our room door and blocks the door
Sean: “Really Chloe, there’s no school today.”
Chloe: “I know but out of all of us you’re the only one allowed to play outside by yourself. So I won’t let you unless you can convince mom to let me go with you.”
Sean: “MOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!”
Chloe twitches when Mom was looking right at her.
Mom: “What is it sweetie”
Sean: “Can you get me vanilla ice cream outside; I hear the ice cream truck.”
Mom: “Oh ok, you didn’t have to scream though where is the money?”
Sean: “Here”
I handed her the 3 dollars and smiled at Simon. His face got red looking at me but he didn’t say anything.
Mom: “Ok I’ll be right back”
(Mom left)
Chloe: “Oh, it was for that.”
Sean: “Yeah, let’s just play now.”
Chloe: “Big Brother why do you always use a sniper rifle?”
Sean: “I don’t know actually, for some reason I feel very calm when using it. It feels like it’s a part of me.”
Taylor: “I have the same feeling for my dolls.”
Sean: “Now that was on topic”
Simon: “I have a question to?”
Sean: “What is it?”
Simon: “Ever since we played you never put a user name in but a question mark, why?
Sean: “That’s a trick question; a user name is used to define who you are. Maybe personality or play style but it should represent you.”
Simon: “So you don’t know who you are in the game?”
Sean: “Yes, Even though I had been playing games with you guys for a year now I haven’t thought of a meaning for my name where it’s cool but frighten when people hear my name. I already know my talent is better than you guys and with my aiming and reaction type it’s not normal.”
Taylor: “You said that right.”
Sean: “Anyway I will still need time for a name. Let’s just play”
Simon: “Ok same…..”
Mom came back and interrupted him
Mom: “Here you go Sean; the ice cream man gave me 3 extra vanilla ice creams cups since he knows you. I also put sprinkles on it just the way you like, here’s a spoon”
Sean: “Thanks Mom”
(Mom Left)
Simon: “Um are you going to eat all four?”
Sean: “I don’t know what ever my stomach feels. We still have 3 hours and 30 minutes till lunch so I have time.”
Simon: “I see”
Taylor: “How are you not fat?”
Chloe starts to make the dog face again. I guess she wants ice cream to.
Sean: “Fine here everyone and here’s a Reese. I’ll be fair today.”
Everybody: “Thank You!!!”
(Dinner Time)
Mom: “Everybody it's dinner time.”
Everybody came to the dinner table Chloe was holding Sean’s hand like always. And sat next to him
Mom: “Sean what’s that on your palm?”
Sean: “I don’t know, Chloe drew it and said that it represents me.”
Chloe: “It does represent you!”
Mom: “Oh ok then, is that light blue marker”
Chloe: “Yup, it is the color represent a sloth see look the middle part is the symbol of the tree where you sleep and the two things on both of the sides are feathers. I can’t draw well but you should get the picture”
Sean: “Yeah I don’t get it either mom, is dad coming home late again?”
Chloe: “It does represent you, big brother you are my sloth.”
Mom: “Be quiet Chloe! Yes your dad will be late, let’s just eat and go to bed.”
(20 minutes later)
Mom: “Ok bed time everybody let's go to bed.”
Everybody: “Ok”
(40 minutes later)
The lights were off and I heard my door opening. It happens to be Chloe holding her pink hello kitty pillow.
Chloe: “Big brother is Simon asleep?”
Simon: “Unfortunately not.”
Chloe: “Oh well, big brother move over we have to sleep”
Sean: “Fine, you better go to sleep, we have school tomorrow okay.”
Chloe: “Ok”
(20 minutes later)
Chloe: “Big brother is school fun”
Sean: “I guess you knew I was still up huh, yes school is fun.” (Whispers)
Chloe: “Okay good……………………..you know that you’re my sloth right?” (Whispers)
Sean: “Yeah, about that. Why am I your sloth again?” (Whispers)
Chloe: “A person that is a sloth in my eyes is people that sleep a lot.” (Whispers)
Sean: “That’s it?” (Whispers)
Chloe: “No, just listen. You have great talent but you rarely you use. Just in video games you can react faster and aim better than all of us. We didn’t even hear the ice cream truck so your senses are heightening more than us to. There are various things also like in school I heard from mom that the teacher said you sleep in class a lot but somehow you ace every test he gives you. He said you also know your multiplication up to your 15 times tables and division by heart. You have a good talent but barely use it why.” (Whispers)
Sean: “Because there’s no point.” (Whispers)
Chloe: “See, that’s why you’re my sloth. I checked online and it said its people that don't use their talents and gifts. But I don’t care you're still my big brother and I love you deeply.” (Whispers)
Sean: “Me to.” (Whispers)
Chloe: “Big Brother what do you dream about?”
Sean: “For some reason I can't have dreams no matter.”
Chloe: “Oh, well I dream about all of us playing games together. I hope everyday can be like this.” (Whispers)
She fell asleep as soon as she said that. That was cute to say.
Sean: “I hope so to Chloe, good night.” (Whispers)
(Morning)
Mom: “I figured she was in your bed, get ready for school Sean and Chloe.”
Chloe & Sean: “*Yawn* O k.”
Chloe: “Big Brother did you hear Mom and Dad arguing again tonight.” (Whispers)
Sean: “Nah, I can sound them out. Let's get dressed for school.”
Chloe: “Fine, I'll be back I have to go to my room. I'll meet you in the bathroom.
(25 minutes later)
(Switch POV Chloe)
Mom: “Have a good day at school you two.”
Chloe: “Ok mom bye.”
Sean: “Yeah, bye mom.”
I can't wait till big brother shows me around school. Should I ask or just wait for him. Wait why are there cute girls going to talk to my brother.”
Girls: “Heyyyy Sean”
Sean: “Hey everybody”
Amber: “Sean I was wondering if I can sit next to you in class.”
Elizabeth: “No fair Amber I should sit next to him!”
I wonder why my brother is so popular. He doesn't look happy though, he looks like he doesn't like them at all.
Chloe: “Big Brother can you show me around the school before it starts?”
Sean: “Sure, I'll see everybody later.”
Girls: “Bye Sean.”
(10 minutes later)
Chloe: “Big Brother why did you not look at when those girls were talking to you earlier?”
Sean: “I find them to be an annoyance that's why.”
Chloe: “Do you have any friends in school?”
Sean: “Chloe define a friend.”
Chloe: “A friend is a person who you have a special bond with and can talk.”
Sean: “Interesting let me tell you my version of a friend. A ‘Friend’ is a person you have very similar interest, a person that will help you in whatever time of need you require and won't betray you for a survival means.
You know when a person is a friend when you feel that he is your friend and can be viewed as a brother or sister to you.
People in school make friends all the time but do they mean it, no. They use it as a social standing to stand out. If something was to happen I'm sure there ‘Friend would betray them in a split second.
I won't make friends easily because I need to trust them, I don't like having fake friendships.”
My big brother is acting very different than before like he is a different person. Even his eyes change from hazel to black when he started to talk. It's like someone else was talking for him.
Chloe: “I'm going to go to class now ok?”
Sean: “Sure, go right ahead.”
That was really weird I never seen him like that since last year when he had that same behavior and ore mother brought him to a doctor to be tested. He said he has multiple personality disorder, which I didn't know what that mean but it seems dangerous. He hasn't talked that way ever since but it seems it can out anytime, I shouldn't tell our mom about this.

Weird he said he doesn't have friends but so many people are willing to talk to him.

Sean: “Let's just go our place is a 20 minute walks so it should be fine.”

Chloe: “Brother why do you hate people?”
Sean: “What makes it like I hate people?”
Chloe: “I don't really know, it's like you give off a vibe that you hate people.”
Sean: “Well I don't, I have a question for you though Chloe.”
Chloe: “What is it?”
Sean: “That symbol you drew on my hand at dinner…..”
Chloe: “Yeah what about it.”
Sean: “Well it didn't look like it was drawn right but can you explain what that symbol is doing on the back of my neck?”
Chloe: “I ummmmm…….”
Sean: “You’re not allowed to tell me are you?”
Chloe: “Don't tell mom I told you this but, you drew it.”
Sean: “What do you mean I would remember drawing something on the back of my neck and it looks really detailed for some reason to? I can't even draw but it looks like I can.”
Chloe: “How long did you know?”
Sean: “For a while I just couldn't ask you since I get the feeling I wasn't suspense to see this.”
Chloe: “Big brother when you changed last year you took a knife a craved that symbol into the back of your neck. It left a scar.
What was weird was you said, ‘My sin has awoken’. Mom and dad had to knock you out and apparently you didn't even remember what you did. We were told to keep quiet of that day.”
Sean: “Interesting, don't tell them that you told me.”
Chloe: “I understand”
(10 minutes later)
Chloe: “Ok, should we play games again today don't have any homework.”
Sean: “Sure”
Everybody: “Happy Birthday Chloe & Sean!”
I was smiling since I was surprised, but when I looked at my brother face he actually looked irritated. He was putting up a fake smile to please everyone.
Sean: “Thank you mom and dad.”
Chloe: “Yes thank you.”
(2 hours later)
Sean: “What wrong mom and dad?”
I looked over where I seen parents ready to talk and they looked sad.
Mom: “This isn't easy so why just going to say this. Your father and I are getting a divorce.”
Sean: “What's a divorce?”
Father: “It means that we won't be seeing each other anymore and I'm moving to Japan for my new job.”
They didn't say any more and just left towards the bedroom. None of us said anything either we just remained silent.
(Next day morning)
Mom: “Everybody get dress.”
Sean: “What about school?”
Mom: “You and Chloe will not be going to school today. Everybody is going to wish their father a happy trip at the airport.”
I have a bad feeling that's not all there is but I will remain quiet.
On the car ride everyone was quiet and didn't speak one word.
Mom: “So this is it huh?”
Father: “Yeah, I guess it is.
Sean let's go where about to miss our flight.”
Sean: “What!?!”
Father: “You’re coming with me.”
I looked at mom but she didn't say anything and was holding us three so we wouldn't go to big brother. She looks like she wants to cry but couldn't.
Chloe: “Can I talk to my brother before you guys leave?”
Father: “Fine”
Mom let go of all of us and we came running to hug him. Simon and Taylor started to cry and I couldn't stop the tears from falling either.
Sean: “Well this is a predicament. I guess I won't be playing with everyone for a while.
Taylor, even though you annoy me I still love you deeply. I know that you have a bright future ahead of you considering you love dolls and fashion.”
Taylor: “Yes big brother I will!!!”
Sean: “Simon, You’re smart but not smarter than me so you have to study harder. I also love you even though we have our differences and it's up to you to play videogames with put siblings.”
Simon: “I will, I will make sure that you are proud of me someday.”
Sean: “I am already proud of you.
Chloe, you have always been next to me since you were an infant and still are today. You have always been the most caring towards me and took care of me when I needed help. I will always love you to. I want you to have to excel in everything so you can live up to your potential. You shouldn't live in my shadow; you should become your own independent person.”
Chloe: “Big Brother I will always love you and no one can take that from me. Promise me one thing. Since you like videogames so much, become a person that makes videogames. Make them so that we can play them together even though we are going to be far apart.”
I couldn't stop crying this was the first time I cried so much since big brother went to school alone. I can't stop for some reason. My heart hurts so much that I won't be able to see them. That promise will be the only thing keeping me alive.
Sean: “I will.”
No way is my brother actually crying to. This is actually the first time he actually ever cried. I looked at mom and dad, and saw that they were shocked to see him cry. It wasn't as much as us but there were a couple of tears. He must care for us a lot.
I looked into his eyes thought and saw his eyes change color again. It didn't look like it was going to change either.
He gave us one big hug and started to leave with father.
All of us were standing there just watching them leave and couldn't stop the tears.
Mom: “Let's go kids”
Chloe: “I hate you!!!!!!”
Mom: “Chloe watch your mouth!”
After that it became a blur. Somehow I fainted and mom came to pick me up calling an ambulance.
(Sean POV)
Sean: “Dad how long will we stay in japan?”
Father: “Maybe until the end of college.
Sean: “Dad I have another question is my mom my real mom?
He stood quiet for a while
Father: “So you knew huh. Yeah that's not your real mom. Your real mom died giving birth to you. She said that her last wish was for you to go to Japan when you enter 2nd grade. Since that's where she was born. She wanted you to experience that place the same way.”
Sean: “I see”
Father: “How did you know if I may ask?”
Sean: “My last name isn't anyone’s from our family. Everyone’s last name is Banks while mine is Scott.
Father: “Yeah, I figured as much. She doesn't have any family members alive so I gave her last name to you to continue her legacy.
She was really gifted to but she value sleep above all else. What made her stand out was her red hair. It was really red; I'm guessing it was dye though. You really resemble her in personality to which is rare since you haven't met.”
Sean: “Interesting”
Father: Oh that reminds me since where on this flight I found this nice club for you. Apparently there are 6 other people that are going to be in this club. They are really talented like you so I enter you in. It starts in 1 month so you have to learn the language quickly.”
Sean: “Thank you dad.”
Father: “Are you feeling better I know this must be hard on you, your eyes also looked like they change haven't they?”
Sean: “I'm ok, I feel like a new person.”
