Goblin Raid (1)
Author Note: Sorry guys took a while I had to rewrite chapter 5 and 6 and least 3 times. This was the best I could do for action scenes for right now. Side chapter part 2 will finish Deadman’s history and how he met Crimson Overlord and Raging Berserker. I will put that up Friday or Saturday with the addition of Chapter 7 when the other players hop in the game.
Me and Transient were running our fastest and finally got to the village. A buff man with 20 soldiers came to talk to us.
Buff Man: “You heroes came out the right time; we only have about 50 soldiers and needed assistance.
Transient Ocean: “Don’t worry, with us and your soldiers we can beat the 100 goblins.
The buff man look at Transient in a confuse look.
Buff Man: “I’m sorry but your number is wrong, my scouts numbered around 500 goblins with a general.”
Transient Ocean: “What!”
From that sentence this mission was basically impossible and we should leave.
Transient Ocean: “Can you excuse me for one moment. Deadman what do you think can we win?”
Deadman: “What kind of question is that?”
Buff Man: “Will you help us?”
Before I could say anything Transient spoke.
Transient Ocean: “Yes, we will but we require supplies.”
Deadman: “Damn” (softly)
Buff Man: “Sorry we don’t have any supplies but we do have 200 health potions left we gave the rest of our supplies to all to the soldiers.”
Deadman: “Can I speak with my partner in private please.”
Buff Man: “Sure”
The Buff man left and I looked at Transient. I didn’t say anything and used [Pulse]. There was a problem he said 500 but he never said there levels. I seen the stats of the goblins and they were at least 6 types of them with the 7th being the general

Transient was quiet after seeing their stats, there lowest goblin was at level 7. What should we do?
“Ding ‘Siege Quest activated’ players will not be able to leave until all monster have been eliminated”
A red barrier formed around the village. This must be a restricted zone but how.
Deadman: “Transient what is a siege quest?”
Transient: “A siege quest can’t be activated by players; it’s like a rare event that a certain amount of monsters will eliminate a village in waves. No players can leave and no players can enter here anymore. You usually have requirements though; oh I see it look at your notifications.”
Kill all goblins (Rank : B+)
Bonus XP ( at least 25% of the population survives )
I can’t use [Dimensional Jump] now to leave but it should still work as long as I don’t try to leave this place. We should have 15 minutes till the goblins start to come.
Deadman: “Transient ask for all the health potions and ask how many people is in this village.”
Transient: “Ok is there anything else.”
I should know here resolve. We can’t save everyone here but it wouldn’t faze me if everyone dies except for us.
Deadman: “Transient we have to do anything it take to survive do you understand?”
Transient: “Of course I know that I’m going to use the soldiers as decoys for me to attack. I only will try to save my friends no one else.”
I smiled, that’s exactly what I wanted to hear. She left and I started to think.
Now the goblins are divided into 3 waves 200 consist of the regular goblins, archers and druids. This must be the scout wave to see our fighting force.
2nd of 200 looks like the same set up but with the goblin gunners and thieves added now.
Last wave is all types with the goblin knights and the general.
The goblins without resistances to gun damage are a piece of cake but why do some have gun resistance. It was just like last time I encountered some and my gun barely affected them. Transient got back now.
Transient: “He gave me the 200 health potions and said there are 200 people not counting them. He said that they all barricade themselves into their houses and will wait until its safe.”
Deadman: “So 63 people have to survive for the bonus xp huh. Ok I got a plan, give me 10 potions and the rest goes to you. You will be the main fighting force on the ground. The bell tower up there is where I will cover you. I can summon both my phantoms to pick off any enemies I will also send 1 of my drones to protect you just in case you struggle.”
Transient: “What do I do with the soldiers; he gave us command of them.”
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
Deadman: “Do what you want with them, they should be dead weight though their only level 5 with the captain being level 8. I also have a question is it possible to have a gear or a skill to block out a [Pulse]?”
Transient: “Yes, it should be possible it can block out certain information. Another thing is those skills require a certain amount of intelligence to. Oh and you should be careful of certain goblins with gun resistance mutations.”
So that’s why ok I must be careful. That general and knights must have it.
Deadman: “Wait as for the gunner?”
Transient: “Certain monsters can go through certain evolutions where they have the intelligence to use weapons that’s more advanced than their species so the gunner must be one of them. I’m guessing those guys will use assault rifles.”
I can deal close to 600 damage without the drones, so this should be a piece of cake. The problem is the 2nd wave with the gunners. Since I don’t know how Transient will survive, I should deal with any that holds a gun. With the 3rd wave I don’t know their gun defense for the goblin knight and general I should just keep shooting until they drop.
We have about 10 minutes left; one of my drones is over watching her so I should get in position.
Ok I’m in position the, this bell tower is the tallest building here so I should be able to see everything. Sad part is Ophis can’t come out during the day and it should still be about 8 hours till night. So I have to rely on myself. I won’t lose another comrade like last time. After this battle I should talk to Crimson and the others. Now that I think about it I knew Transient for 2 years now. I do consider everybody my friends or comrades now so I’m willing to die for them. Looks like the battle will start soon.
I summon both phantoms and there just waiting for my orders. My other drone will start highlighting enemies for me. So let the battles begin.
(POV Switch Transient Ocean)
Ok with Deadman providing cover the weak goblins should drop first I will signal the 50 troops in groups of 5s with a group of 10 to group the bell tower so Deadman doesn’t get attack. Wait after this battle we would only have a couple of hours to prepare until the other players start to join.
Ok this will be my first official battle, I’m so excited. I’m link to Deadman, since were in a party so if I die I should respawn next to him. Now that I think about it if a monster kills me and I get the option to respawn what would happen to me if I get killed by a hero even if I’m link to a party member, do I just die? I might have to bring this up will everybody at the end of the day.
I should just focus on the battle; the goblins will be here in 5 minutes.
Transient: “Everybody form groups of 5.”
Everybody: “Understand”
Transient: “You 10 guard the bell tower so they don’t reach my friend.”
Guard: “Ok”
Buff Man: “What should I do?”
Transient: “You will be with me the main fighting force.”
This guy looks happy for some reason, I hope he dies first. The main force is basically suicide if it looks like we’re going to die I will sacrifice as many as I need to survive. All I want is for me and Deadman to get out of this. With his damage that appears last time the first wave should be a breeze. His drone is above me he said it could help me in this battle.
Ok I see the goblins they look like just regulars where are the druids and archers. The regular goblins are just looking at us and why do they look organize their species are supposed to have low intelligence.
I look closer and I see the druids enchanting the archers’ arrows into fire arrows. This isn’t good this will start a fire. I look at the soldier’s equipment and it’s all wood even their shields. This is bad, where did the goblins learn this from. This style of war is similar to the romans. The regular goblins all had shields and formed a rectangular wall. If they have the knowledge of the romans then if we charge they should have spears ready to launch at us.
Looks like they’re going to attack first. A barrage a fire arrow was in the sky and I didn’t know what to do. Why am I so useless? Looks like it’s too late I should just close my eyes and wait to die.
Eh, why didn’t I die? I open my eyes and saw 2 energy shields around me and the soldiers. I look at the bell tower and I see Deadman shaking his head. He is signaling me to attack the goblins. Wait I know since the guards know the city we can use guerilla warfare tactics. Ok now I have a plan.
Transient: “Captain signals the groups of 5 to scatter out and use hit and run tactics. You soldiers were born here you should know the alley ways and shortcuts whereas the goblins don’t.”
Buff Man: “Ok, men did you hear the plan? Everybody lets defend this village till the last breath.”
Ok next is to break their formation if their using roman tactic they aren’t use to guns. Luckily I have a gun user. I signal Deadman to attack and the plan was now executed.
I follow the captain into the alley way, he said there’s a way to get behind them, we left a couple soldiers to attack the front so that the goblins won’t get suspicious. All heard though was loud shots coming from the bell tower. It seem like deadman had endless bullets. I also heard human screams so that means some of them guards must have fallen.
Ok we finally got behind the goblins and I saw the druids and archers preparing another fire arrow attack. Before they could finish the chant I rushed in a punch one of the druids.

That was only one hit and it drop. The archer looked at me and shot his arrow. I quickly duck to avoid and luckily I didn’t get any damage but it did hit an ally. The other soldiers started to attack the druids and archers so it became a slaughter. They started to attack and run away to lure some of them away.
I ran towards all the druids and use all my fighting force I had and got rid of all of them without them casting out a spell. A problem occurs and that I caught the eyes of two regular goblins. The other goblins except the two that seen me were getting shot. Whatever gun Deadman has, the bullet damage must be high enough to penetrate their shields in one bullet.
Both the goblins looked at me and started to circle me. I took one step and they both charged at me.

Shit, I was able to dodge one but the other hit me. I’m only at 61 health now, I should

Wait where did that, oh the drones heal me their watching me fight. Ok I can do this I rushed to the goblin in front of me to attack and it raised its shield I punched it but 0 popped up and the goblin behind me attacked tried to dodge and counter attack but the goblin that was in front of me attack.

My health was at 25, I don’t know how to fight this enemy. I need to concentrate, if they wait for me to attack I’m a goner, but if I wait for them I could do this. I patiently waited and one of them attacks. I redirected his momentum and threw him to the other side.
The other goblin couldn’t react quickly enough and I finally got a punch in

I drunk down a health potion and to try and figure out my next attack. The goblins didn’t know Aikido. So I can assume they don’t another forms of marital arts. I was about to attack but a bullet came flying across me and went right through one of the goblins eyes. But another one didn’t follow, was Deadman trying to see if I could defend myself.
With a one on one this was very easy. I look around and the soldiers are finishing up this battle so I have time. The goblin ran towards me and I evaded, I hit his arm so that he would drop his sword. After it drops his sword I punch him but not without receiving a blow from his shield that sent me flying back.

Ok without his shield he could be useless so I should figure my next attack.
Buff Man: “Um do you need help?”
I looked at him and saw that the guards are all finish and Deadman from the bell tower is just looking at me and yawning. How could they look so carelessly don’t they see I’m in a critical battle.
Transient: “I got this.”
I ran towards the goblin and it put up its shield like I expected but I didn’t attack I sidestep to the right so that it I would get out of his view. After that I grabbed its arm and twisted him onto the ground. I continue to punch him until he would die and finally he dies. I looked like a lunatic when I was punching the goblin. It was my victory, I feel like I could do anything.
Buff Man: “Um, should we get ready for the second wave, we only lost 10 men.”
Oh shit I forgot, damn I don’t think I have any energy to barely move. I should start to cast magic; I don’t know why I didn’t do it in the beginning it might have been an easier fight.
Transient: “Ok let’s get read…..”
? : “Guuuurahhhhh”
I looked up in the sky and saw fireballs raining into the sky and all I did was laugh. The second wave must have already started.
