I was heading through the forest and spotted a village set on fire. It was my luck finally since I’ve been travelling but couldn’t find anything except rabbits .I started to run towards it but realize the bandits numbered around 20. So I stopped and looked at my situation. I could only deal around 100+ damage or more depending on the distance. Luckily it was night so I switch my eyesight to night vision and ran away. A sniper true advantage was the distance and staying hidden. I found a small cliff overlooking the village and was about 200 meters from the village
I used pulse and found that it wasn’t 20 enemies but 50. Also there were about 25 villagers that were highlighted blue. My pulse can figure out hostiles from non-hostiles which was pretty helpful

These were the stats of most of the bandits. I couldn’t afford to get hit it by melee attacks but I didn’t have to worry. With the sky being pitch black and the sound of the fire they wouldn’t hear me. Also I got a bonus that their still trying to gather all the women. There was one enemy still indoors with another villager. I didn’t bother to look at his stats since he should be around the same level as the others.
I mounted my sniper rifle on the cliff then started to aim at the bandits. Right before I started I recited the rifle men’s creed
Deadman: “This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.”
As soon as I finish I saw a bandit chasing a girl and shot.

I had almost forgotten that when I shoot two bullets come out deal double damage. That should be around a damage of200. With the distance bonuses also that number doesn’t faze me. I gave a mind order to the drones to start highlighting enemies for me to. I wanted the 5% extra damage. A cool thing about the drones highlighting is that people won’t know their highlighted only me. The highlighting is only link to my eyes.
Two bandits saw the one I shot drop down to the floor and before they could say anything I shot both of them quickly

The drones were above the village highlighting enemies for me and no one thought that the bullets were mine but their comrades shooting people.

Before I knew it all the bandits were dead but 1. I really wanted that 50 kill streak and luckily he stepped out of the house and was scared when he saw his comrades’ dead on the floor. Before he could act I shot two bullets which were technically 4 at him and he dropped to the floor.
That was too easy; even though I camped I still won. I headed to the village to see if they dropped anything. But what I saw was the villagers looking at me in fear. An old man step out, I’m guessing he’s the leader.
Old man leader: Young man did you just save us from the bandits?
Deadman: “Yeah, I accept a quest. This was a good warm-up though, I must thank you.”
Old man: “What do you mean; we just lost 10 people which were all men. This is no time for jokes.”
Deadman: “Ok then buzzkill, I only came to see if the bandits dropped any of their gear so if you excuse me.”
Old man: “…”
I checked all the bodies but no luck I went to the last body I killed and at the doorway I saw a woman around the age 25. She looked at me as a beacon of hope. I looked at her and then the body of the bandit and saw a piece of equipment on the floor.

Nevertheless I equip the shitty armor and was heading out, but right before I headed out the woman spoke.

I was in the forest trying to figure out the next plan. I was very close to leveling to level 2. I could turn in the quest or just go out hunting monsters. With my ability of switching visions at will the darkness isn’t a problem. Also due to my cybernetic features I only need around 5 hours of sleep. The time resembles 9 pm so I still had time to play. So I went to hunt monsters for fun.
After 30 minutes of travelling I figure out that this forest has to be for beginners because no monster exceeds LVL 2. This was a shame. I killed a wandering bandit and leveled up.

Description: The Eternal Fox of Death is a legendary being. It is one of the 7 Omnipotent beings which is the elements darkness. It loves to feed on death and absorbs souls for dead bodies. Wandering from territory to territory it kills anything it sees. It is looking for a master to link its body so it can have purpose.
Well looking at that I could only see death but I really wanted to hug that fox so I summon my [phantom] and sent it 200 meters away from my location just as a precaution and waited. After it got to its location I went towards the fox but my drones were signaling me of danger but I didn’t care.
The fox notice me and was didn’t do anything. It went towards me and tilted its head. Now that I look at it closely, it has nine tails and is pure black with red eyes. Also the tips of its tails were red also. It came closer and looks at my eyes. At that moment I sat down and allow the cat to sit down on my lap. But it still stared at me and then went back to the dead body and dragged it towards me. Now the body was in front of me and the fox sat in my lap while nibbling on the dead body.
I thought how a fox could be this dangerous but I saw the notification and saw it was dealing a damage of 0 over and over I couldn’t figure out the number of 0s popping up. I think I knew how this cat deals damage and due to my phantom god blessing I’m immune to the darkness element. The fox must deals continuously damage at an alarming rate.
After the fox finished the body it looked at me tilted its head, I’m guessing that the fox must be confuse I’m alive.
Deadman: “Are you confuse I’m alive?”
The fox nodded, understanding my language.
Deadman: “I’m immune to all forms of darkness so you can’t hurt me.”
After I said that the little fox started to lick me and seemed very happy. Luckily I didn’t revealed that it can one hit KO me in physical attack or gun damage.
The fox knew my words word true after 30 minutes and I was still alive so it took a small nap.
After it woke up it licked me one more time and a notification pop up
“Ding ‘The Eternal Fox of Death’ is willing to accept you as its master, and requests to become your pet.

I accepted it and the little fox was officially mine. I named it Ophis.
Pets are rare and can’t be captured by force. The pet has to be willing. They always are following you and can’t be summoned. If they happen to die they would need a certain amount of time before respawning. Players can have a limit of 4 pets. After that if they want to have another one of the pets must be willing to go to sleep in you and wait to be called upon.

This fox must be the ruler of darkness. It will be useless when it’s light outside but useful when it’s dark. I could still see it being useful though. As for its gift, my class restricts magic. I can still use magic but must make a chant and has to be while I’m holding the gun so that the bullet does the elemental damage. However this fox allows me free magic and without chanting.
Now all I have to do is find spells for my gun now. Modern classes have a lot of benefits but there’s a downside. Since we use guns the human kingdom looks down upon heroes that use guns so players might not get any quest. We would have to go to the bulletin board to get quests. Some NPCs will give you quests but the majority wont.
Some skills I couldn’t see so I most likely will have to upgrade my intelligence to see what other skills it has. Since pets have to approve of the owner. Players can’t see some of their pet skills until they reach the reachable level. Intelligence upgrades magic capacity but also improves the understanding of certain knowledge.
With the ∞ backpack space I wouldn’t have to worry about a limit of items being picked up. So I was extremely happy with today’s results.
It was around 3 am after I was done figuring out my thoughts and I was still level 2 so I decided to hunt for 2 more hours until I wanted to sleep. The fox got on my head and patted me signaling me that it was ready.
I cancel my phantom that was 200 meters away and I used pulse and found 10 enemies in the west around level 8 so I decided to head there. It took me 20 minutes to reach there but there was a problem. There were actually 13 enemies they’re just patrolling. From their looks they were goblins. So I didn’t really want to look at their stats because I wanted a challenge. My vision was already on night vision so I got a distance away from them so I wouldn’t have to fight them head on.
I was about 100 meters away and mounted my sniper rifle but was a little worried about the other 3. I summoned my phantom and it mounted its sniper rifle on the ground as well, waiting for my signal. I sent out my drones to start to highlight them since I want this battle to end really quickly.
When the drones got there I shot my first bullet.

After that number came up I was shocked that even with the double damage and double bullets also with the distance bonus and drones highlighting the number didn’t even exceed 3 digits.
That bullet aggravated the goblin that got hit but the 13 of them couldn’t figure out where the shot came from. I made the decision to keep firing. I didn’t want to use Ophis since I want to be independent on my own power for right now. Only if it feels I would absolutely die will I use it.
This time I gave the order for my phantom to shoot with me and I bombarded that goblin with so many bullets.

After that last number pop up the goblin finally dropped. From my calculations they have around 800 healths. After the 1st goblin fell the 3 I couldn’t sense signal the other goblins to scatter out.
My guess was they were going to find me by sound. I sent by phantom to the right about 100 meters away so that the bullets sounds come from 2 directions. My ammo is about 200 shots but luckily I gain bullets every 5 seconds so running out of ammo is not an option for me.

After 40 minutes I finally dropped 10 goblins and leveled up two times. I was waiting for my drones to highlight the 3 I couldn’t pulse. After the drones found the 3, they found my phantom and killed it. I still had plenty of ammo left but they were only about 100 meters away from me. I fast than me since there size was a lot bigger than the regular goblins. So I took a gamble and shot.

That icon popped up and that was the signal to retreat. Whatever they were doing, was trying to find me but I went to the corpses of the dead goblins. I picked up two gears and left without checking them. I wanted to get out of danger first. From the looks of it they still couldn’t find me so I picked up any coins the goblins had and scrammed.
After I got back to the encampment I check the two gears.

I was speechless; this gear didn’t help me at all. Even with 50 luck I didn’t get anything good. What was bad was the stats was good but didn’t work for me. So I sent a message with a screenshot to everybody to see if they wanted this. The two that responded was Crimson Overlord and Raging Berserker. Crimson wanted the ring while Berserker wanted the pants. They both were level 3 but didn’t have one piece of gear on them.
I confirmed that no one had any luck with the gear but Fallen Fairy. Crimson, Berserk, Fallen Fairy, and Transient Ocean came to my location. What caught their eye was the fox on my head.
Crimson Overlord: “Is that your pet Deadman?”
Deadman: “Yeah why?”
Crimson Overlord: “No it’s just…”
Transient Ocean: “Wow that looks cute can I hug it?”
I look at Ophis and it nodded its head.
Deadman: “Sure go ahead.”
Transient Ocean opened its arms and the fox jumped in its arms. Transient Ocean really loved that fox and started to play with it.
Raging Berserker: “What is the rarity of that pet, it looks unusual than the typical pet.”
Deadman: “Its rarity is Omnipotent why?”
As soon as I said that everyone was looking at my pet. Crimson didn’t have a comment and was speechless. Raging and everyone else looked at it with envy.
Deadman: “Do you guys want to see Ophis stats?”
Everyone nodded and when I showed everybody, their eyes open wide like a Looney cartoon.
Fallen Fairy: “So powerful, yet so cute.”
Deadman: “Anyway lets trade I don’t want this gear and I’m tired finally.”
Raging Berserker: “Wait I got a gear for you. It will suit your taste and I can’t use it any way. “

I was shocked a sniper with these stats appeared. The problem is the recoil and the sound. Once it’s shot it will make a very loud sound capable of any one finding my position. Then with the recoil I have to take my time with. Nevertheless I was still happy. RPM means rate per minute so the higher that number the faster it will shoot

Deadman: “Yes, I’m very satisfy with the gun.”
Crimson Overlord: “Oh I almost forgot I got this for you to, this should be helpful towards your new gun.”

After we traded we made an agreement to stay in touch with any types of gear we encounter that we don’t want. Hrist and Specter agreed as well even though they weren’t here they were in a party chat with us but they were heading here. Transient Ocean was sad to depart with Ophis but Ophis didn’t really care, it was extremely loyal to me for some reason.
I do wonder why it didn’t absorb the souls of the goblins but I didn’t bother to ask.
I learned that every body is level 3 except me. A full 24 hours in the game is 1 hour in real time so I decided I wanted to sleep. I decided to look at my stats first thing in the morning. I first turn in the quest and got a measly 25 points of exp and 10 copper coins. I now had 2 silver and 10 copper coins. Now the number conversion of coins is 10000 copper coins = 1 silver, 1000 sliver coin = 1 gold, 100 gold coins = 1 platinum coin. So I was lucky just to have 2 silvers.
I went to the inn and it cost 5 copper coins a night. I was about to pay and I saw everybody heading to the inn to. They all look tired as well but more than me. They must have been straining them selves. Anyway we payed the amount and went to sleep.
