Chapter XXIV

PART ONE

[C.E - Year 2078]

[Mobius Weapon’s Tech Main Development Facility], a titanic facility that would make even the old CERN research facility look like a dog kennel by comparison. Despite the scale of this facility, even this was simply the main building to a subdivision within the transnational [Mobius Industries].

Three people important-looking figures entered the titanic building from the main entrance. The first was a clean and elegantly dressed business man in a black suit, everything about him screaming ‘BIG BOSS’. He was the CEO of Mobius Industries, Aran Callahad.

Standing next to him was an equally important figure, a slightly aged man in a white lab coat, his most prominent feature being his bald head and a large black eye patch. Also the fact that he had a considerably beefed up body despite his age and his academically oriented profession clearly set him apart from others. On his chest pocket was a small name tag that read Dr. Edmund Weisner.

Following along behind them was an oriental woman in her late twenties. The head of security and bodyguard of Aran Callahad, Yui Kirisaki. She quietly followed behind them vigilantly in a black suit of her own, with carefully concealed weaponry should she ever need it.

As they entered the building they were met with several armed guards that all offered a salute. They were part of the security division of this large research complex.

“So, what was it that you wanted to show me?”

Edmund asked as he tagged along. He had woken up very early in the morning and caught the fastest jet, with the only information being that Aran had ‘something’ to show him.

“It’s something that will change the world.”

“Really now. How many times have you said that to me over the course of this decade?”

“Too many to count, but this one is a little different.”

As they were talking one of the female researchers of the facility came to greet then.

“M- Mr. Callahad, sir, I just heard that you were coming, please forgive me for the untidy appearance.”

“It’s fine, guide us to the central development chamber for the GUNGNIR.”

Aran waved her off gesturing that he didn’t mind nor did he actually care. The young female researcher bowed and guided them towards the place that Aran had specified as well as giving them a short tour around the facility. Since walking was obviously an inconvenience they were placed on moving mats.

“GUNGNIR? The spear of ODIN, so you’re really going with that entire Norse Mythology theme? Well whatever. Then what does GUNGNIR stand for?”

Edmund asked jokingly.

“It doesn’t stand for anything. You try coming up with an acronym for GUNGNIR. I may be a multi-trillionaire genius but I’m not a linguist.”

“Heh, sounds just like you to do so.”

They reached their destination after a 20 minute ride on the moving mats. They were guided towards an extremely large and open area, with hundreds of people moving about continuously all working on the gargantuan device in the center of the room that spanned over 800 by 700 meters.

As Edmund saw this his jaws flung open in awe and fear.

“T- this is… is this what I think it is? Change the world? No this will change everything!”

He asked as his eyes were unable to move from the magnificence of the device. Seeing his reaction satisfied Aran as noted by a small smirk that appeared.

“Indeed.”

“How did you even, no in the first place, just building this thing would’ve turned you into a wanted criminal, do you even understand that?”

Edmund asked in a slightly infuriated manner.

“You don’t have to worry about that. I pulled a lot of string with the US government and got proper clearance.”

“That’s not even the fundamental problem with this machine. This… this thing, if misused will steal people’s right to self government, if this gets put up there everything will change.”

“I’m aware of that, more than anyone else.”

“Then why would you build such a thing?”

“Because it needed to be done. Our world will soon come to an end if nothing is done, perhaps everyone thought that the end of the world was going to be some cataclysmic event on the world scale but that isn’t true. Worldwide corruption, national destabilization, unsustainable population growth, insufficient resource management. All of these things and more, they’ve been chipping away at our world for centuries and now have come to fruition.”

“But… your way of doing things, it’s not only morally questionable it’s inefficient. You think you can control the world with fear? That it would somehow become better after you’ve done all this?”

“Edmund, justice isn’t the only thing that can fight evil; evil itself can fight evil. We’re about to hit critical mass if someone doesn’t do something. I’m sure there are more efficient and less morally corrupt ways to do things, I don’t doubt you but this is the surest and fastest way. After the situation has come under control and everyone is willing to talk to each other then we can start working on the next step.”

“But… still, this is…”

Deep into the conversation the security alarms around the facility started to ring viciously. It was a signal that the facility was under a military attack. Even though most of the researchers were heading towards safety, Aran and Edmund stood their ground as they knew the security division would soon solve this problem.

There were sounds of footsteps just outside the observation deck that they were in.

“Sir, I will be right back. Please excuse me for a moment.”

Yui who had been quiet through all of this had reached into her pocket and took out a small firearm. She left the observation deck, quietly closing the door behind her. The sounds of gunshots and heavy struggling could be heard outside but Aran had full confidence that Yui was more than capable of taking them on and didn’t even break a sweat.

“And that was?”

Edmund asked, with a rather jaded expression despite a military assault having taken place in the facility. Edmund was only able to keep calm since he saw that Aran didn’t even batter an eyebrow at the situation, it would only make him look stupid if he went into a panic by himself.

“Most likely some country that doesn’t want this device to be put up, maybe China or Russia. After all, even if they’re corrupt they aren’t stupid. Once this thing is put up, then it’s only a matter of time before ODIN and GLADSHEIM also come online. When that happens I will have control over the world’s technology.”

“No kidding, if I were in their shoes I wouldn’t keep calm either.”

“Anyway, I didn’t call you here just to give a tour of the facility, Edmund Weisner, I wanted you to take over as the director of this project. I have some other business to oversee, so it’s rather difficult for me.”

“Despite my protests you still think getting me in charge of this place is a good idea?”

“Of course, you’re one of the only people I actually trust. And despite your protests I know that you actually agree with me.”

There was a brief moment of pause between them, eventually Edmund gave in and muttered under his breath that ‘the best doctors go to hell’, sighing afterwards which prompted Aran to reply with his trademark smirk.

“I heard you’re getting married soon.”

Edmund says out of the blue.

“That’s right.”

“Congratulations.”

Edmund says as he walks up to the edge of the railings of the observation deck. He peers down into the facility and where the enormous device is stored and gives another sigh. Aran moves forward and takes out something from his pocket and places it on a nearby table, a small clearance tag with Edmund’s name and title on it.

He then moves towards the exit and opening the door he is met with Yui who has just finished with her ‘clean up’. He then turns towards Edmund one last time.

“Thank you… Director.”

Aran says with a sinister smirk as he leaves Edmund behind.

PART TWO

[Eternum Calendar - Year 990]

I slowly opened my eyes from a nostalgic dream about an old friend. I sat there for a few minutes contemplating on what I dreamt about and wondered to myself if it was a simpler time back then or if it had been just as complicated as now. I wryly smiled to myself, telling myself that the past is just that, the past and that nothing can be changed anymore.

With that thought I tried to get out of the large bed that I was placed in to rest up before the fight. When I pried the blanket away from myself I noticed a small figure closely sleeping next to my while hugging my lower torso, it was Astaroth. Out of instinct I ran my hand through her hair in a gentle manner but it might’ve been a bit too much as she woke up.

“Mmmh~? Ah, morning Morgant.”

‘Morning’ she says, with a carefree smile, even though it’s perpetually night here and we’re about to go to war with heaven realm. I could see a bit of her drool flowing from her lips and down her chin. I used the edge of my sleeves to wipe it away as she moans ‘mmm~’.

“Good morning, Astaroth.”

I answer her with a smile.

“Mmm~? Is something wrong? You have an awfully distant expression.”

She asks in a worried tone as she gently touched my face, her slender, cool fingers felt warm on my skin. I shook my head to deny her doubts.

“No, I just had a dream of the past.”

“The past?”

Perhaps it piqued her interests but she had a shine in her eyes as though she wanted to say that she would love to hear it. She was already in listening posture as well, and with that anticipating smile I couldn’t really turn her down. Though, somehow I feel like if I told her it would be considered a death flag, that’s usually what happens in movies; a character would reveal that he’s getting married or he had a tragic past then he’d get axed off.

“Are you interested?”

I asked to which she nods.

“You already know of my ability, ‘Foresight’. Thanks to that I can see the future, but I cannot see into a person’s past. Because of that it often feels lonely; the past may be shared and experienced by many but only by myself can I experience the future.”

“I see… then, let’s see. I once had a dear friend, he was older than me but we got along extremely well. He was the kind of person that sought after knowledge and truth as though his life depended on it, perhaps it really did. But for that kind of person; a person that dedicated his everything to this one endeavor… it somehow captivated me. He was the one person that I could place my sincerest trust, a person who never betrayed me, a person who always stood by my side through both good and evil, a person who would walk through hell with me if I asked; my dearest friend…”

Before I even realized, tears had streamed out of my eyes just from remembering him. The first time I met him was in university, he was a professor there and I was a student. Since during my university days I was a hardcore bookworm I often stayed behind lectures and classes to further my knowledge.

Perhaps it was because of that, because I dedicated myself to my studies he saw me as a kindred spirit. After classes had long ended I stayed at the library every day, then one day he came up to me.

‘I always see you trying your best, yet you always seem bored. Is knowledge not worthy of a reward for you?’

He asked.

To that question I answered.

‘It is not enough.’

The way he looked at me as I answered his question and the way he laughed and said ‘I concur!’ I think it was from that point that an everlasting friendship was created. Since then I’d discuss with him all manner of subjects, math, science, psychology, morality, economics, politics. Anything we could think of we discussed and anything we didn’t understand we researched.

“What was his name?”

Astaroth asks, breaking my period of reminiscing. It must be awfully confusing for her, because my current body was that of a ten year old, something like an old, life-long friend wasn’t something children usually considered.

“… Edmund Weisner. My dearest friend.”

Answering her question I got up from the bed and walked towards the veranda. Since I was atop of the Sanctuary, the entire city unfold before my eyes. There were still some lights down below that were left on as the citizens evacuated. I turned my gaze up towards the giant red moon that surveyed us from up high, the twinkling of the red lunar rays envelopes the entire city.

As I stare up at the sky I wryly smile. I tried to stretch my hand out to the moon, to grasp at it, if only metaphorically.

“Only you… only you could’ve preserved a weapon for over 2 billion years, so in your honor I will show the enemy the power of the old world; our world. I’ll dedicate this bloodied requiem for you, Dr. Edmund Weisner. My dear friend.”

Astaroth slowly walked up against me and hugged against my right arm.

“Hey Morgant…”

She starts off slowly.

“Yes?”

“I want children.”

As though someone had unplugged my brain, I entered a state of brief pause. What did she just say?

“… Children…?”

She nods as she looks deep into my eyes with utmost sincerity; she wasn’t joking about this, I mean I kind of knew that from the tone of her voice but. Eh?

“That’s right, since Lilith has become your servant through soul-binding she is no longer able to succeed my throne. I know I said I didn’t mind it too much, that it was her decision to do so and that I respected it, but could there ever be a mother that could really say that with a smile?”

“Well… I guess you have a point.”

“That’s right Morgant. You’re the villain here, so you have to own up to your actions and take responsibility; so after the battle is over, help me birth another heir and all shall be forgiven.”

She says in a seductive tone, her lips glistening from the light of the moon, her large red eyes staring deep into my everything. Her soft and smooth skin… then she smiles and pulls my cheeks abruptly ruining the moment.

“What…?”

Confused, I had to ask.

“Hehe~ are you thinking some naughty thoughts? How cheeky for a mere ten year old child.”

“I… wasn’t really.”

I say whilst trying to avert my gaze, but she reaches forward and adjusts my face in front of hers, then she leans in forward. Meeting her lips with mine, it was so sudden that my mind blanked out. I could taste it, the softness of her lips, her tongue.

She pulls back afterwards.

“Not now. Now isn’t the time for such thoughts, we have a battle to be won. So I’ll have you promise me that when we come out of this both alive, that you’ll help me make another heir.”

She declares with the utmost sincerity and authority. I could feel my face turning red, but I tried to fool myself into believing that it was due to the red hue of the moon. It certainly wasn’t as if my face was flustering from her kiss just now, or that I my heart was starting to pound quickly.

“I…”

I didn’t know how to respond to her.

“Fufu~ so even you make some interesting and cute faces. I think that was the most age appropriate reactions that you’ve given me.”

I once again averted my eyes from her.

“That’s cheating…”

I muttered under my breath.

“Fufufu~”

PART THREE

From the looks of it there were still a few hours remaining until Nodens’ army arrives, and although I should’ve been waiting anxiously for the war to begin I somehow felt a strange calmness. Even though it was a foe that stole my family, a foe that was many times stronger than us, a foe that could very well have represented justice if this was another story.

I could feel myself wryly smile as I walked through the empty hallways of the Sanctuary.

“Is something the matter, Lord Morgant? You seem strangely happy.”

Lilith who was following from slightly behind asked out of curiosity. She probably understood that I was happy for another reason and not because we were about to be swarmed by the enemy. I don’t blame her, perhaps no one in this world would understand why I was so calm right now; with an inexplicable smile I continued to walk.

“Happy? No, I wouldn’t describe my current emotions has ‘happiness’.”

I shook my head at her question. Right, I wasn’t happy per se, but I was fairly elevated, right this emotion was more closer to a feeling of being ‘high’ than ‘happy’. I was only allowed to feel this way because I knew that the spirit of my dear friend was watching me from on high.

“What do you mean?”

She asked for me to clarify.

“Lilith, even at the deepest pits of despair, a single ray of hope can guide you forward. ‘Belief’, it is a word that I never thought I would use to describe my feelings but that is the closest thing I can compare it to. Not in a higher power, but in the bond between an inseparable friendship; to put it simply, it is trust.”

“Haa…”

From the looks of it she still hasn’t quite grasped what I was getting at. Of course that was to be expected, but soon they will all see.

“Perhaps you need some ‘hope’ too. Then shall we go see how she’s doing?”

I asked.

“She?”

“Right, your dear friend the wolf that brought us here.”

* * *

There was a small detainment prison down below the Sanctuary. It was a place that was solemn used after Astaroth had succeeded the throne but for the first time I had made it occupied. There were several prisoners held there currently, though if I had to guess most of them, if not all, were innocent. Right, the people in there were from the werewolf tribe, they had been detained for security reasons, of course I had intended to set them free after the war was over.

“Deborah…”

Lilith drew closer to the cell and saw a single werewolf who was leaned up against the wall. There was no trace of malice or rage because she was put there, she simply accepted the reason that she had to be there and carefully waited. This too was a form of trust, that she would be granted freedom once everything was cleared.

“Lilith… why are you here.”

Even still, there must’ve been a considerable amount of bad blood between them for that Deborah to get a face of disdain when she heard Lilith’s voice.

“I… I just wanted to see you…”

Lilith answered in a anxious manner.

“… You didn’t have to come. We’re all alright down here, we know why we were placed here after all. As those loyal to Lord Astaroth this is our test of fealty and not place that you had to come to.”

“But… I just wanted to see you…”

“…”

Deborah simply averted her gaze at Lilith’s words. Despite the fact that there was some tension between the two, at the very least Lilith seems to still have lingering feelings of friendship.

“Um… about that day, I’m sorry.”

Lilith started to apologize.

“…”

“I didn’t mean to leave without warning, I know now how stupid it was of me to do that, because if not for Lord Morgant I would’ve died from mana deprivation. But most of all, I wanted to apologize for leaving you behind when we promised to stay together forever.”

“… idiot.”

“Ehehe… I know.”

From what I could tell from the conversation they were both very close childhood friends that promised to stay together no matter what; through thick and thin. I could somewhat relate to that kind of relationship, but one day Lilith decided to leave the Sanctuary due to her own inadequacy. What’s more is that she decided to leave without telling anyone which only served to enrage Deborah even more. I guess you could call it a feeling of betrayal that your friend who promised to stick together just up and left.

“I hate you Lilith, so don’t die, if you die I won’t be able to hate you anymore.”

“… Deborah… I understand. I promise you that I won’t die.”

Lilith nodded with a smile. Somehow it seems that they’ve cleared up the bad blood and even Deborah was smirking from within the prison cell.

“Idiot… take this.”

Deborah slipped something past the cell’s gaps and place it within Lilith’s hands. It was shiny but I didn’t know what exactly it was. Lilith examined it thoroughly but even she didn’t quite understand what it was either.

“This is?”

“[Argenteus Arcanum].”

“Argenteus… eh?! But this is, this is supposed to be extremely rare! Are you sure about this?”

‘Argenteus Arcanum’? I believe that was Latin, a language that barely existed back in my old world, was it just a mere coincidence or was it another similar case to Gladsheim where the name was preserved but the meaning lost? Well in any case ‘argenteus arcanum’ would translate into ‘silvery arcane’.

“Right, it can temporarily make turn your attacks into one that’s really effective against Lord Andras. But the effect only last for so long so you’ll have to be careful and smart on how you use it, but knowing you, you probably won’t.”

“Eh…”

Lilith says.

“I’ll leave her in your care, Lord Morgant.”

Deborah pleads me with her innocent looking eyes, ‘innocent’ despite her rather fierce looking face. I guess this is what they call ‘puppy dog’ eyes? Of course I had intended to take full control during our fight so she didn’t really need to worry about that, so I decided to give a nod.

“Thank you.”

She says.

I let them talk for a while before deciding to leave, we needed to get ready for battle. As we were walking to our destination that was the front walls of the city, Lilith had a rather strange smile herself.

“Are you happy? Even though we’re about to go to war?”

I asked, knowing the answer anyway. She shakes her head.

“I wouldn’t call it happiness… yes, this is ‘trust’.”

She tells me with a smile.

Right... trust.

PART FOUR

Astaroth, Kyrios, Admiral Ordwell, Lilith and myself, we were all lined up on top of the city’s gate in wait. For the time being we weren’t able to see or hear the movement of the enemy army but we knew they were coming.

Below and beyond the gate were thousands of soldiers of the demon legion, of course they weren’t all of them. The others were spread around near the city’s vicinity, since the main job of the demon legion was to shepard around the heaven realm forces and turn the enemy into a single concentrated force.

Basically all the demon legion needed to do was kite around the enemy with ranged attacks, either through magic or archery or any other means.

Looking below were the stiff forms of countless demons. If even demons were scared, then by all means I who was just a single human had more to fear, how I didn’t do that, I felt rather composed.

My tranquil heart was the only thing that kept me from panicking. It wasn’t as though I’ve gotten stage fright but even for someone like me this was a whole new experience. To fight a war was something I’ve never done, someone like me who has never stepped foot on the frontlines was giving orders on how to move an entire army. There should be a limit to one’s presumptuousness but not me though, here I was directing an army with only theoretical knowledge.

“Feeling anxious?”

Standing beside me was a masked man, Kyrios. His lavishing mid-millennium noblemen’s clothing and his large red cape flapping in the wind. He had a dignified stance that almost seemed to suggest that he feared no enemy, not even death. And next to this man was another, a man in a white naval suit, who also possessed unwavering eyes and determination.

Standing by such men, here I was, a mere ten year old. Beneath that thin veneer of a persona was a man who once stood at the top of the world, but that too was simply a persona. Deep down inside I was just a single man. The truth is I’m not some warrior, I’m no hero, no demon, no devil, nothing but a boy.

That is to say, ‘was I anxious’? as Kyrios asked.

The answer is obvious.

“Of course I am. ‘Scared’, ‘afraid’, ‘anxious’, ‘tense’, I am all of these and more.”

I answered him, he scoffed but nodded after.

“But I am also prepared, I have always been prepared, if nothing else. I have set up preparations for this even since time immemorial.”

I added. To this era the old world may literally be since time immemorial, a time no one can remember to, except for me. It would be but a simple matter for me to turn tail and escape right now, no one would blame me but that would be spitting on the pride of the old world. I love the old world, it is my single most joy and pride, the amalgamations of my accomplishments are all embedded there, but it is fair to say that the old world no longer exists, however they still harrow and echo in this new era.

The truth is, this is still my world, no matter how many years pass, this world is mine and mine alone. I will not give it up to some foolish god who thinks he can waltz in here like he owns the place, no, I won’t let him. If he wants this world so badly then he’ll have to pry it away from my cold dead hands.

“Children.”

I muttered under my breath but it seems to have caught everyone’s attention.

“Hmm? What’s wrong, Morgant?”

Astaroth asks.

“Children… they are merely children.”

I smirk, a most sinister one.

“What do you mean?”

Admiral Ordwell asks, to be honest I wasn’t serious in answering them, I merely wanted to monologue to myself. I wanted to convince myself that my authority was absolute; unassailable; infallible. I was but merely a single man, but that’s exactly it, I represented not this world’s humanity but those of the old world; I carried on the legacy of the entire human race.

As I thought this I couldn’t hold back my laughter.

“Hah… hahahaha… Hahahaha! Right… successor…”

My mumbling may have seemed incoherent to the others.

“Successor?”

Astaroth asked, to which I nodded.

“Yes, a successor. If you, Astaroth, represent the future, then I represent the past. It’s fine if you don’t understand, it is no more relevant to the situation, but know this: I am the true successor of Terra, and I’ve no intentions on letting some wannabe god stroll around in here and take it.”

She gives me a dry laugh.

“Haa~ indeed, I haven’t understood a single thing you’ve been saying for the past few minutes but I’ve understood your intentions clearly. In other words you’ll beat down the intruders right?”

She asks with a smirk of her own, an almost evil one, it’s as though she was the demon lord, oh right, she actually was one. A smile that truly befitted her title; I think that was the most title appropriate reaction that she’s shown me.

“That’s right. I have only one short term goal: total annihilation.”

The five people who was listening to me all nodded in unison. Excellent, we were all on the same page, these are worthy allies.

PART FIVE

Off in the distance I could see countless small flashes of light. It was the movement of the heaven realm army, and as they drew closer I could feel the thudding of the ground beneath me. The footsteps of half a million soldiers, it was quite extraordinary if I could feel from this far away.

“It’s time.”

Astaroth said.

Kyrios moved up towards the edge of the gate and issued the order.

“You have all received your orders, you will do your utmost to follow that order as a loyal soldier of the demon legion! I won’t say that you will all survive, but let me also say that none of you have to die. Your mission isn’t direct combat, you simply need to shepard the enemy forces together, that is all! Keep your wits sharp and movement steady, then place all of your trust in us, as your leaders we will demonstrate the power of the demon legion!”

There was a loud roar amongst the soldiers as the fear and stiffness in them had all dissipated, it was almost as though they had instantly become fearless. Of course it was obvious to anyone that they were still scared, it was a war after all; a battle to the death, but everyone understood their positions and their job.

All of the soldiers had placed their utmost trust in us.

“Move out!”

Kyrios ordered and in a few short minutes the thousands of men stationed were gone. Not a single soldier remained. They moved forward to attract the attention of the enemy forces and once they had done that they immediately withdrew and started moving away from the city’s entrance where the real battle was about to start.

I could see that some of the lights of the enemy army moving away from this place, they were drawn by the demon legion and were set to engage. The battle was now starting. I waited with bated breaths as I saw three shining figures fly towards us at extreme speeds.

The enemy gods.

‘Gods’… hah, what a joke.

“Children.”

I once more uttered under my breath. My comrades all took out their respective weapons in preparation for battle.

Cedric drew a long ornate sword and defensive looking tower shield. A paladin til the end.

Admiral Ordwell took out his grand knucklers. They were heavy looking gauntlet type weapons that were used for close combat, emanating an almost unholy aura and coated in a ghastly black paint, it looked like you’d get cursed from a single punch.

Lilith took out a small orb, supposedly it was an artefact that enhanced one’s magic attacks.

Astaroth didn’t particularly take out anything but on her hand were several magic amplifying rings. I took a look at them before the battle started and their stats looked something like this.

[Demon Lord’s heirloom]

+15 [magic]

+10 [insight]

There was even a special attribute.

[Magic Amplification: 15% extra magic damage]

Those were the kinds of hardcore rings that Astaroth wore, and she had 6 of these kinds of rings, of course each ring was slightly different but they were all at this level so you can expect it to be incredibly rare rings. They weren’t to be trifled with.

As for me, unfortunately I didn’t have a weapon yet. I drew closer to the edge of the gate wall with both my hands behind my back as though I was taking a leisurely stroll. Before I had even realized it three beings were floating before us.

[Nodens. Level 192, High God of Tara]

[Dagda. Level 172, War God of Tara]

[Dian Cecht. Level 175, Healing God of Tara]

What absurd levels, it was almost to the point I found it hilarious at how horrible outmatched we were.

Nodens, he stood there in the sky as he looked down on us with his menacing golden glare. His large white wings spread so he could maintain afloat.

Dagda, a bulky brute, messy grey hair and a sinister, satisfied smile. His wings also spread to maintain his position in the air.

Dian Cecht, an odd appearance, covered from head to toe in a black robe, his face hidden behind a plague doctor’s mask. As such I wasn’t too aware of what kind of feature he hid behind it. He too had large white wings and moved as though he was looking down on some ants.

“Villains… You shall all perish here.”

Nodens spoke up.

I couldn’t contain my own glee as I heard his voice. Ah, perhaps I might have gotten a little crazy from this reunion, but the man responsible for my unrest in this world was standing right in front of me, revenge was at my fingertips, you must forgive me for acting this way.

I creepy, sinister, evil, malign, shady smirk crept up my face. My persona of a gentle, kind, caring and innocent ten year old boy that I had built up til now was shattering before me.

Through and through, I was indeed a villain. That rang true in my previous life and in this life too I had no qualms about taking up that mantle. In fact I had gotten too familiar with that role that I could play no other. If it’s a villain he wants then so be it, I will become the strongest hurdle he has yet to face.

“Children… the moment you decided to set foot in this battlefield was the moment you have resigned to your fate. Allow me to impart you with the wisdom of the old world… ‘An eye for an eye’…”
