While following the sound, Ash soon came to the location from which the barking was emanating. However, upon seeing the view in front of him, his mouth couldn't help but twist; he really didn't know what to say about this situation.
"Did I really waste my life precious hours for… this guy? Now I am regretting taking this quest," Ash groaned, eyeing the three dogs by the riverbank.
Other than Marco, the missing blacksmith's white dog, who was barking once in a while, there were also two other dogs accompanying him. One was a female dog with white fur adorned with various-sized black dots, and the other was a brown dog, clearly the largest among the three. Currently, the brown dog was joyfully raiding the female dog, while Marco, beside him, barked desperately, probably (definitely) asking for his turn or trying to get the brown dog away from his crush. However, the brown dog didn't give a f*ck about Marco's barking, and the female dog also didn't care who was raiding her, as long as she had a small meat rod inside her, she was more than happy.
Seeing that the brown dog didn't move away from his crush, finally, Marco seemed to reach his breaking point and stopped barking like an idiot. The family guy put a resolute look on his face with an invisible fire of determination burning in his eyes. He opened his mouth, filled with razor-sharp teeth, and with a surprising leap. he bit hard on the brown dog's tail.
Ash, in the background, for the first time in his life saw the sense that people can only witness in cartoon shows ( adult ones). Still, he couldn't help but chuckle and nod his head at Marco's deed; at least, he had the guts to fight someone stronger than him to protect his love, not many can do it.
The brown dog, experiencing his tail being bitten for the first time, opened his eyes widely and stood stunned in his place for 2 seconds before letting out a loud, painful howl and starting and spinning in circles, howling continuously in indignation.
Not caring about the impending beating, Marco, seeing that the platform was free, hastily took advantage of the opportunity, climbed on his crush, and started riding her like a pro with his already ready rod, although it was clearly his first time.
"Children really learn fast. Well, at least now I know why this little guy likes to wander around the town so much; he is just a slave to his little brother. This is completely normal; I can understand his feelings," Ash muttered while shaking his head with a wry smile.
Just then, Ash saw the brown dog, who had overcome his pain, staring at Marco with bloodshot eyes. With a guttural growl, he rushed toward Marco like a rocket, without caring about his female partner who made him wear a green hat right in front of him. He directly jumped on Marco, interrupting their wonderful moment and making all three of them fall to the ground before a big fight between Marco and the brown dog started.
Marco, a family guy, a flower of the greenhouse, compared to his skill in making his crush satisfied, his combat experience was nowhere near the brown dog, who was a wild dog. Soon, Marco started showing signs of being overpowered by the brown dog. If it goes on like this, this might definitely going to be the last time Marco sees his crush.
Seeing things getting out of hand and Marco being beaten like a dog by the brown dog, just as Ash contemplated saving his quest target. The female dog, standing in the background hesitantly with a thoughtful look on her face, finally made up her mind at this critical moment and decided to betray her potential boyfriend (since both of them were wild dogs). She leaped into the battlefield, joining Marco to defeat the brown dog.
The eye-opening fight lasted for the next two minutes. The ensuing brawl was a whirlwind of snapping teeth and flying fur, In the end, the poor brown dog couldn't hold on any longer and was defeated by Marco, now officially his new girlfriend, and fled with his tail tucked between his legs.

"Why is this scene giving me a feeling of Déjà vu?" Ash muttered dumbfoundedly as he walked toward Marco and his girlfriend, who were celebrating their victory and on the verge of starting the work, the brown dog interpreted in the middle. Unfortunately, Ash's untimely entry interrupted their happiness.
Observing an unknown man walking towards them, Marco and his girlfriend became hostile, growling at him. Ash, lacking the power to communicate with animals, didn't attempt to explain anything. He simply took out the whistle given to him by the blacksmith's uncle and blew it as he approached them.
The familiar sound sliced through the tension like a hot knife through butter. Hearing the familiar sound, Marco, who was about to find another secure location to share his love with his girlfriend, froze, his ears perked up in confusion. He looked at Ash confusedly, unable to comprehend why a random stranger possessed his owner's whistle.
As Ash approached, Marco's girlfriend, though still showing a worried expression, calmed down upon seeing Marco's curious yet calm demeanor as he wagged his tail. She hid behind him.
Ignoring the slight movement of the female dog, Ash knelt before them and confirmed the presence of a mole under Marco's left eye. Convinced that Marco is a gentle and approachable dog, he patted his head and gently stroked his neck. Ash had a dog at his parents' house, whom he had raised like a child for seven years, so he knew how to make a dog happy and create a positive first impression. Due to his love for dogs, Ash occasionally visited his kind uncle, who lived right next to his apartment building. The uncle owned a docile female German Shepherd, and because Ash enjoyed playing with dogs, he had been there many times, becoming familiar with that family. Whenever they had to go out, they always called him to take care of their dog. Ash, of course, never refused such a golden opportunity to enjoy delicious homemade food for a simple task. After all, he lived alone and his cooking skill was stuck, so he had to order food from outsiders, which clearly nowhere near as good and healthy as homemade food.
"Let's go, Marco. Your owner asked me to bring you back home; he is very worried about you," Ash coaxed, a smile warming his voice as he rose to his feet. However, a flicker of human-like worry expression on Marco's face left him stunned. Instead of following him, Marco hesitated and stood in place, his gaze bouncing between Ash and the female dog as if he feared that he might never be going to see her again after today.
Are all creatures in this world so intelligent? Although I understand that maybe Marco can understand my words, perhaps from living with humans since birth, but having such complicated emotions for his partner doesn't seem normal," Ash thought with a frown. However, he put aside this matter for the time being, as he now had more important work to do.
"Marco, look, if you want, your friend can come too," Ash offered, hoping to sweeten the deal. "I'm sure your owner wouldn't mind another obedient, beautiful, and lovely dog around."
Once again, Ash's common sense was struck hard by Marco's unusual reaction. As soon as he suggested that Marco could bring his girlfriend with him, the hesitation on his face disappeared instantly, replaced by a surprised and happy expression. He barked excitedly at his girlfriend, and although she still showed some worry toward Ash, both of them stood in front of him, ready to go back together.
Ash's mouth twisted as he witnessed this unexpected turn of events. He could convince himself that Marco's intelligence stemmed from living with humans since birth, but what about the female dog? Clearly a wild dog, there was no way someone had invested a lot of time training her so she could understand human language.
"Why is everything in the magical world always so damn weird and illogical?" This question lingered in Ash's mind as he walked toward the town, with Marco and his new girlfriend following behind.
