Chapter 32. Madness

Chapter 32. Madness

"Motherf*cker! Where is my luggage?!" As soon as Urmas opened his mouth, not-so-pleasant words were thrown at Myne's face. Then he gently released the black bird high into the sky and jumped down from the tree with his favourite small axe in his hand.

"Well, that's quite a harsh accusation," Myne countered with a playful smile, and moved his eyes away from the black bird—the culprit who ruined his perfect plan. "Even if your mother is very beautiful, I don't think I would try my luck with her. For someone who has a son like you—it's best to maintain a healthy distance from her. By the way, would you believe me if I said your luggage wasn't here when I arrived?" He smoothly drew his dagger, a mischievous glint in his eye.

"Good, very good. I will surely believe you after I torture the truth out of you, begging me for a swift death," Urmas snarled, tightening his grip on the axe as he advanced. Never before had anyone dared insult his mother so brazenly, although he never liked his mother but this is still unacceptable. He has decided to show this f*cker in front of him the true meaning of hell. As for Ash's action of taking out his dagger, he scoffed coldly and didn't give it much thought. In his eyes, Ash is just a pathetic idiot who hasn't seen the world and definitely knows nothing about fighting, which is clear from his actions and body posture."

"Ohohoh, believe me, no one can make me beg for death. I have a very close relationship with a certain lady of death…"

Ding!

Ash was still trying to mess with Urmas with his poisoness mouth when he saw a small axe flying towards him. With his skill, Tranquil Presence, Ash's mind instantly became calm. All nonsensical thoughts, fear, and nervousness shut down. He stared at the flying axe with a blank face, full focus replacing his earlier expression. As the axe neared, he raised his dagger and easily parried the attack.

This move surprised Urmas, who instantly became more vigilant, misunderstanding Ash as some kind of powerful fighter. After coming close to Ash, he threw a flying kick at his stomach with his full strength.

Although under the effect of Tranquil Presence, Ash's performance and focus level were top-notch, but at the end of the day, a noob is still a noob. Just when he dodged Urmas' flying kick out of nowhere, Urmas pulled out a short knife and stabbed it into Ash's left thigh.

"AHHHH!!"

Ash let out a loud scream, but the fight was clearly not over yet. After stabbing the knife into Ash's thigh, Urmas hurriedly rolled on the ground, picked up his fallen axe and without thinking, just relying on his musical memory, he swung it backwards, delivering a deep cut to Ash's right leg before jumping away to create distance.

Urmas' move again directly made Ash crash on the ground, crying and rolling in pain, his dagger forgotten on the dusty ground. Though Tranquil Presence worked hard to calm down Ash's emotions and pain, it was still just a level-one skill after all. How much effect could it have? Ash, who was cursing Urmas' entire race, with trembling hands pulled out the knife from his thigh and tried to get up with his bloodshot eyes, and shaking willpower.

However, the question is, would Urmas be generous enough to give him as much time as he wants, so he can calm down and stand up like the protagonist in novels and, under the influence of unknown power, beat the hell out of him? How can there be such a good thing in a dark background novel?

While Ash is trying to stand up, Urmas raises his small axe high with both hands and chops down mercilessly at Ash's left leg shin.

"AHHHH!!!"

Another bloodcurdling scream pierced the air, startling nearby birds and small animals. This was just the beginning. Before Ash's scream subsided, Urmas's axe fell again with tremendous force, severing his other leg at the shin as well.

"AAARGH!!!!"

This time, the scream was even louder the before, and Ash was already bathed in his own blood. Urmas, who has successfully reduced Ash's height, nods his head in satisfaction, very proud of his perfect handiwork. He takes out a small glass bottle from his pants pocket, which contains some kind of mysterious silvery powder. But instead of using it immediately, he waited patiently, enjoying Ash's agonizing screams.

After several seconds, as Ash lost more and more blood, his voice weakened, his body grew limp, and his vision blurred. His brain, recognizing the severity of the situation, activated emergency protocol and finally shut down his pain response, along with other essential functions as well to hold his soul inside the body for a few more minutes.

Seeing that Ash's condition is worsening, and he might lose his life at any moment, Urmas finally makes his move. He takes a bit of silvery powder and spreads it on both of Ash's remaining part of legs. Just after coming into contact with the bloody wound, the silvery powder comes to life, quickly becoming a bloody mess and spreading over the entire wound, blocking it completely before solidifying, leaving behind a very ugly wound. But now, at least, the bleeding has completely stopped, saving Ash's pitiful life.

"Tsk, 500 coins, wasted just like that. What a big loss," Urmas muttered with a hint of envy and jealousy in his voice. "Sigh, those damn pointy-eared guys of the elf race are greedier than goblins, but I have to say their product is certainly worth their shamless expensive price," Urmas said with an envious and jealous look on his face.

"Now, brat, are you still in the mood for joking with me, or are you ready to be honest and tell me where you hid my luggage?" Urmas asks with a smirk, casually kicking off Ash's broken feet like balls. According to his past experiences, after suffering this much torture and losing both his legs once and for all, no one dares to defy him, fearing they might also lose other body parts as well. But what Urmas doesn't know is that his logical perspective is about to be challenged.

Ash, who had been staring blankly at the floating clouds, exhaled deeply. Ignoring Urmas's nonsense, he raised the knife in his hand and slashed again at his throat, uttering no clichéd dialogue this time.

"What the f*ck! No, no, no, you bastard! At least tell me where my luggage is," Urmas exclaimed, dumbfounded by Ash's sudden act of suicide. He hurriedly approached Ash, disregarding his own loss, and poured the remaining silvery healing powder on Ash's throat. The healing powder took effect instantly and successfully sealed the wound but sadly it was already too late, and Ash's soul had already left his body.

"NO!!!" Urmas's earth-shattering scream, filled with unwillingness and anger, resounded throughout the entire forest.

[GAME OVER]

...

Ash, who was enjoying 3 seconds of special treatment by the system, gritted his teeth and endured all the pain without making a single sound. His grip on his fist was so tight that his untrimmed nails dug into his flesh, drawing a trail of blood.

"Haah, haah, haah. That bastard must die!"

Consumed by murderous intent and rage, Ash ignored any thoughts of hiding or sneak attacks. He charged towards Urmas like a rabid bull. Soon, he found Urmas cautiously lying on a tree, watching him with great interest, wondering what this idiot holding a dagger and staring at him as if he had killed his entire family, wanted from him.

Not caring that Urmas had spotted him, Ash, who had a big palm-sized rock in his other hand, threw it at Urmas's face with full strength, forcing the bastard to come down to the ground.

"F*ck! Brat, are you out of your mind? Why are you attacking me? I'm sure I've never seen you before; we shouldn't have any animosity towards each other, right? Wait, don't tell me you're the son of that small-breasted woman who threatened until her last breath that her son would come for revenge?"

Urmas asked, frowning while stroking his beard. After taking a closer look, he realized that Ash didn't resemble that woman in any way, but he didn't have any more time to search his memory for which woman's son Ash is, as Ash had already started attacking him madly.
