The city itself was in ruins as everyone was screaming and yelling on top of one another; without the proper assistance, the whole city would burn. Still, some neighboring farms and towns put their prejudices aside and helped out in any way possible.

And a truck full of supplies drove in, with helpers providing aid. A couple of aides were in charge of the cleanup; one had dark skin and long black hair with brown eyes, while the other on the right had fair skin, long blonde hair, with silverish-blue eyes.

Both of them surveyed the area as they saw ground zero up close. Being cautious of where they stepped or what someone would do, they had to act the part.

Speaking into her earpiece, the dark-skinned woman communicated to someone, “This is Alpha Crucis, contacting Shining Star Blossom. Delta Crucis and I are at the scene.”

“Blossom to Alpha Crucis, do you have any aura signals?” Blossom respond.

“No, and we should have them by now. We are headed to the crash site.” Alpha Crucis said.

In reality, both of these girls are disguised as first responders.

Alpha looked around to see Delta Crucis, only to find her in prayer with the locals. She wouldn’t mind, but this was not the right time.

She approached Delta Crucis and patted her back, “Hey, wrap it up; we’ve got work to do.”

Delta Crucis turned around and faced her with tears in her eyes, “could you just bloody wait?”

Alpha Crucis scowled, “These victims will have their justice. And the sooner we finish, the faster they will get it.”

With those words, Delta Crucis relented.

This version of Delta Crucis was pushing 37 years of age and became the longest-tenured Crucis Sentinel. Her real name was Glenda Romello; she was raised in London, England. It was uncanny for her to be religious and a Crucis Sentinel simultaneously since the Crux has no ties with any religious movement or doesn’t want to be.

Still, they put that and her former relationships aside since she was amazing at her job yet was a mentor to the def-facto leader of the Empyrean, Alpha Crucis.

Only fourteen, this sentinel Alpha Crucis became a force to be reckoned with at short period of time and has excelled every predecessor that came before her.

Walking through the crowd, the two drank in the atmosphere. It was bleak with many others' call to God to help him. Such a shame they couldn’t help all of them. Yet, they had their own set of problems.

Finally arriving at the downed plane, they had to travel outside the city to find the bodies; since the impact of the fall was too great, the plane broke and flew apart into large pieces.

It became a scavenger hunt...

It took them an hour to find one badly burned body with gunshots to the chest. Gravely, it was surrounded by flames. Fortunately, Alpha Crucis smothered the fire by summoning the wind and clapped her hands together to create a mighty wind.

Immediately, Alpha Crucis went inside the smoldering hot wreckage and discovered the badly burned dead bodies but found something wrong, “Blossom, this is Alpha. Are you sure we have Shining Stars in our area?”

“Positive! We received a silent S.O.S. from one named Luna.”

Alpha Crucis glared at the same body, “We are taking them anyway...” She relented while she walked over to Delta, who was not that far behind, doing nothing but staring out of the openness of the plane wreck and her being in the middle of it.

“Delta!” Alpha Crucis called out.

Delta Crucis didn’t answer.

Alpha Crucis then approached her and smacked her on the shoulder, making the wide-eyed Delta Crucis flinch as the turned around to face her.

“I found one!” Alpha Crucis informed while heading back to the first body.

This made Delta Crucis sob in despair as she wandered around aimlessly to herself.

It took a while for the two to find the five bodies throughout the countryside. They carried the bodies to their truck and rode out with the remaining trucks carrying the deceased. And not a moment too soon since it was getting dark.
