Road to Athines part 4 (hunters?)

Ada woke up angrily.

"Why didn't you wake me up, Bob? Are you fine in the head?"

"Oh, I am fine, and you responded, Bob."

"Boy, you're dumb. Let's hope that you can rest while we ride," Ada said, worried.

"I will rest when I am dead," Bob said, laughing cartoonishly evil.

Ada is glad that nothing had happend to Bob

"Yeah, yeah. Let's pack our things and go before we are late," Ada said.

They packed their things and began their journey.

Mounted on the horse, Bob asked Ada, "You have never talked about your time in modern times."

"Neither have you," Ada replied.

"Yeah, but you start," Bob insisted.

"What? No, we will go our separate ways when we reach Athens," Ada said.

"Even more reason to tell me about you," Bob said.

"How?"

"So you can live on in my memories," Bob explained.

Ada was shocked by this sentiment.

"Okay, where to begin? I was very happy with my life. I was married; I was doing my dream wor..."

She felt pressure on her back.

Bob had gone to sleep.

"Oh, Bob, you are so bad," Ada said, smiling.

Some time passed; now it was evening, and they could see Athens from where they were.

Bob woke up. "Hmm, what did I miss?"

"Good evening, Bob," Ada greeted.

Immediately after this, Bob heard, "Did you sleep well, boy?" said the man.

"Yeah," Bob replied.

"Ada, who are they?" Bob asked.

"Some hunters, hunting for a wounded bear," Ada replied.

"Oh yeah, the bear," Bob remembered.

Ada pushed Bob with her back to indicate he should be quiet.

A man said, "Your sister told us that you hadn't slept for two nights. Are you fine?"

"My sister?" Ada quickly glanced at Bob. "Ah, yes, I am fine. Thank you," Bob replied.

"You both got very lucky on your road," the man commented.

"Yes, indeed. We have got lucky," Ada agreed snarkly

"Boy, can I ask what your profession is?" the man inquired.

"I help people. Mainly work on constructions," Bob answered.

"Are you here for work?" the man asked.

"We are just going to meet our father, who just sells robes," Ada interrupted again snarkly

"Well, it's good that I am looking to buy some robes for myself," the man said happily.

He turned his back from them.

Bob asked, "What is going on?"

"I think this man wants to ask for my hand," Ada whispered.

"Well, just let him. You are going to leave anyway," Bob suggested.

"I don't want him to stay with us," Ada whispered back.

Bob thought of a way to help and came up with an idea.

"Well, see this then," Bob said"Excuse me Yes, you! You can't marry my sister."

"Why not?" asked the man.

"Because she is already promised in marriage," Bob explained. "With me. I am her adopted brother and her husband. I promised our father to take care of her for all my life."

Ada blushed.

The man turned to Ada and asked, "Why didn't you say anything?"

Ada didn't respond.

The man went to the head of the pack. "This is how you take care of a problem."

Ada hit Bob in the leg. "Stupid."

"Ouch! Why did you hit me?" Bob asked.

They didn't speak until they reached the gate of Athens.

Bob and Ada parted ways with the men.

"Take care of yourselves," the men said.

"Thank you, too," Bob and Ada responded.

"So, here we are at long last," Bob said.

"Yes, let's stay together tonight to see if A.I. will reach out," Ada suggested.

"Yes, good idea," Bob agreed.

"First, let's sell this horse," Ada said.

"Can't I keep it?" Bob asked sadly.

"No, it needs high maintenance which you can't give it in a city, and with the money, we will buy a room," Ada explained.

"Right," Bob said, disappointed. "Let's sell the chicken."

"Never," Bob said firmly.

Ada laughed.

They sold the horse and got paid around 500 coins.

"I asked the merchant for some help to find a cheap room for a night. He said we should look in the west district," Ada said.

"Okay, then let's go," Bob said.

They arrived at the center of the west district and decided to ask a lady who was cleaning outside.

"Excuse me, where are the rooms for rent?" Ada asked.

"If you want a room for rent, come with me," the lady said.

"Okay," Bob and Ada followed her.

"I guess one room for couples, right?" the lady assumed.

"Yes, but we are not a couple. Make it separate beds," Ada clarified.

"Right. That's what all of them say," the lady said.

"Okay," Ada said, trying not to argue with the lady.

"Names?" the lady asked.

"Aleksander and Helena," Ada said.

"Okay, just the payment now," the lady demanded.

"How much does it cost?" Ada asked.

"All your money," the lady said.

Two men emerged from behind and put knives at Bob and Ada's throats.

"You bitch!" Ada exclaimed.

"You should have stolen from the boss," the lady said.

"What?" Bob asked.

"Don't worry. You are going to meet him soon," the lady said.

The men placed black hoods on their heads and took them to meet the boss.

Bob could have broken free but worried about Ada that they could murder her.

They went to some place underground and heard a giant door open.

"Leave them there and leave," said a voice.

"Okay, boss," the men said.

The hoods were removed, and they could see a man as tall as a tree and wide as a gorilla, along with a female and the man who had asked for Ada's hand.

Ada screamed.

"I am going to kill you, you son of a bitch!" Ada shouted.

"Just wait and see, you bitch," the man retorted.

"Quiet," the large man ordered.

"Are they the guys, Judas?" the large man asked.

"Yes, boss," Judas replied.

"Okay then, before I kill you, answer me: How did you steal from me?"
