In the middle of the night, something scratches Bob's leg...
Fast forward to morning.
Bob wakes up and sees an all-black chicken.*
Bob screams, "Aahhhh!"
It wakes Ada up.
Ada says, "What happened?"
"Look at that," says Bob, pointing at the chicken.
"What? I see that you've caught food. What's the deal?" asks Ada.
"I found it sleeping next to me, and look at it, it's all black," says Bob.
"Yes, and?" responds Ada.
"Ada, I think this chicken comes from our time," says Bob.
"Bob, maybe it's just sick," responds Ada.
"No, let's just ask people around here if this type of chicken is common here."
"Well, I won't be looking after it, so you take care of it," says Ada.
"Yes."
So after this decision, they eat breakfast quietly. They had progressed around a quarter of the road. They decided that they will stop by a village to refill on supplies. And so they stop at the small village.
"Bob, wait outside of the entrance with the animals for safekeeping them," says Ada.
Bob accepts his role. Ada goes inside.
Thirty-ish minutes pass.
Bob says, "What is taking so long?"
"Let's go inside," says Bob to the animals.
Moments after Bob enters, some old villagers approach him.
"Would it be possible for you, young man, to help us?" asks the old villager.
"With what?" says Bob, trying to be careful.
"We need you to be a witness," said the old villager.
"A what?" Bob doesn't understand.
"We need an outside witness for our groom."
"For a marriage?" asks Bob.
"Yes," responds the villagers.
"I don't know, I don't have much time."

"We will pay you; just come," says the villagers.
"When is the marriage?"
"Now."
"Alright, then take me to the groom," says Bob.
Bob is taken to the groom. Bob enters the house where the groom is staying. The groom is younger than Bob. Everyone is waiting for the bride and the groom at the village center.
Bob said to the groom, "Hello."
The groom responds to Bob, "Hello."
"So, how does it feel, the happiest day of a man's life?"
"Very exciting."
"Good. So how did you meet the bride?"
"This will be my first time speaking to her."
"Oh, wow," says Bob, shocked.
"Yes, I am very excited."
The groom stands up from his chair and starts walking back and forth to calm his nerves.
Bob says, "Not a lot of young people here, I see."
"Well, almost all the young men died fighting the rival village. I was the only one left behind, and as punishment, we had to give our village's females to them as slaves, except for one."
"Oh wow," says Bob, even more shocked.
Bob asks, "Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, yeah, everything is fine. It's just that the marriage ceremony should have already happened by now."
"Oh, maybe it didn't start because you were missing the witness?"
"With no offense, but you don't matter. It wouldn't be the first marriage without an outside witness."
"Of course."
"The problem is, what if I am not good enough, or she has already changed her mind?"
"Hey, look, as much as I understand, this marriage is not only about you two, but it's about every man that gave their life fighting. So I don't believe that she will give up on her village," Bob is impressed with himself.
Bob sees that the groom calms down a bit. Then, a moment after, an old villager came and said, "Come, the bride is ready now."
The groom comes out first, followed by Bob right after.
They go to the altar and had to wait only five minutes, and the bride appears, followed by none other than Ada. Bob and Ada give each other a shocked look but followed immediately by a proud smile, like they had saved this marriage.
The marriage ceremony went amazingly. It showed that the bride was very into the groom, and it really helped to calm the groom's nerves. With the marriage ceremony ended, Ada and Bob reunite.
"So, this is where you were, eh?" said Bob.
"I thought I asked to stay out with the animals," responds Ada.
"Well, I got worried."
"Oh, really?" says Ada, trying to tease Bob.
"Worried about the food," said Bob quickly.
"Yeah, yeah. So, I think we should make our leave now, what do you say, groomsman?"
"I think we should ask them about our payment, don't you think so, bridesmaid?"
"I already have collected it."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go," said Bob.
But before they made their first step, the groom and bride came.
"Please wait, why don't both of you stay tonight?"
"We cannot, it wouldn't be a good idea," said Bob.
"We have wasted a lot of time."
"At least stay for the feast."
"Thanks, but no."
The groom got sad.
Ada says, "You two will make an amazing couple," and gives a naughty wink at the bride.
Bob hugs the groom and says, "Don't forget the thing I said inside." Bob lets go of the groom.
Both Bob and Ada start leaving.
The groom screams, "When can we meet you again?"
Bob says, "I promise that I will return one day and have a feast."
Bob and Ada reach the stable and continue their journey where they left off. They progress until the sun goes down and decide to set camp close to a river.
Bob says, "Wow, what a day, eh?"
"Yes."
"But what took the bride so long?"
"She said to me that she wanted to be the most beautiful woman that the groom has ever seen, and I couldn't help but make her the most beautiful woman ever."
"Wow, I didn't know you could do nice things."
"I also gave her some tips on how to make her partner come faster."
"I spoke too soon."
"Bob, I am in dire need of a bath, so can you stay on lookout for me while I wash in the river?"
"Perfect, I also wanted to work out, so a bath with no worries."
And so, Ada took some ash and started to wash herself, and Bob started to work out.
This time Bob would work out his legs with bodyweight exercises:
5 sets of squats
5 sets of lunges
5 sets of calf raises
3 sets of glute bridges
Today's workout is legs.
After Ada's turn, it comes Bob's turn to have a bath
Today, Bob was very pleased with himself; he helped a groom and worked out legs. This is the best day since coming to this place.
Bob had spoken too soon...
