Seifer sat down in his viewing room with a smile. In just a few minutes, Arcturus Harkes would be executed.
The Light Order had demanded a public execution in the City Square and so, he had booked a private viewing room to witness the death of his enemy first hand. Arcturus hadn’t revealed anything to the Light Order, not choosing to take down Seifer with him.
This is why he had spared Orion Harkes. As long as Orion was still alive, Arcturus wouldn’t reveal that Seifer had a vampire in his custody. After all, vampires were taken very seriously by the Light Order.
If Arcturus did expose Seifer, he would be executed by the Light Order but they would also begin a very thorough investigation. An investigation that would have Orion be executed as well for being involved in Arcturus’ operations.
Dozens of feet away, Cyrus Black was grinning shamelessly. He was in a far more opulent viewing room, joined by the Viscount and their friend Caspian Graves, the Guild Master of the Ceres War Guild.
“Stop smiling! This isn’t a good thing for Ceres” said an annoyed Rubeus.

“It’s great for me though” said Cyrus, making Caspian chuckle. Cyrus had never been discreet about his dislike of Lord Harkes.
“Unlucky fellow, Arcturus Harkes. If Rubeus had been out of town, he may have escaped” said Caspian.
“No, he wouldn’t have. If Rubeus wasn’t around, I would have just allowed him to leave after activating the Guild’s “Hunt and Capture” protocol.” said Cyrus.
“The what?” asked Caspian in confusion.
“It would put a powerful tracking spell on him as well as a Curse that would weaken him over time. In half an hour, he would have been weakened enough for me to easily capture him” explained Cyrus.
“I really need to install better spells for the War Guild” said Caspian with envy.
“Yes, that place is nothing compared to the Potions Guild” agreed Cyrus.
“The Potions Guild doesn’t have a dungeon under their control” said Caspian.
“Your own son joined my Guild not yours” said Cyrus gloatingly.
“You don’t have a field of spears” retorted Caspian.
Cyrus said nothing, he knew he could never compete with the field of spears. But a small smile appeared on his face as he thought of his plan to install a Giant Golden Cauldron on top of the Guild Headquarters.
The three old friends continued to bicker until all of a sudden, Arthur, The Viscount’s Attendant burst in through the door.
“Rubeus, I have bad news” said Arthur.
Rubeus and his friends became serious as they noticed that Arthur had called Rubeus by name which showed the severity of the situation. Arthur took a second to catch his breath before he spoke.
“Lord Harkes has escaped”
