It had been a few days since we had started working on Cinder’s moves, the increase in levels and higher affinity with fire and normal energy had meant that we were on the verge of becoming more proficient with the current moves.
Like previously thought ‘smokescreen’ was relatively easy to learn, it was a matter of days and he had it down, the move in question was really interesting to watch. The accumulation of smoke like substance in his mouth building up to then be released was a sight to see, it was contained in a small area rolling and bubbling then all of a sudden, a vast amount of smoke covered the area targeted. The continuous stream seemed never-ending and was so dense you couldn’t see anything.
Thinking about the possibilities of using it in combat were exciting, from obscuring ourselves to the perpetrators, to assisting with take downs and aiding stealthy movement in an area. Obviously, the smoke would draw attention, but we could move through it and also use it as a distraction.
Thinking about how we could look at increasing its proficiency and how to improve its performance. I wonder if there was some form of movement aspect to it, the stream of smoke being unleashed from the mouth, I’m curious if we could look at building the energy up in him mouth beyond the point he would normally release the move and use it to aid him in firstly blasting an area full of smoke then using the force to propel him backwards out of striking range.
Its an idea I’d like to test and if we could get it working, it would assist with an exit strategy that let us bail out when encounters got too much for it, I don’t want us to be in the same situation we just were in at the warehouse.
I’m waiting on progressing his other moves until we become proficient enough in his current ones that we can use them quicker. Like they become muscle memory, it will assist us in situations where we get surprised that if Cinder has enough control over the moves if we get surprised he can use them on reflex no lethally.

MOVES: Scratch(Intermediate), Growl (Intermediate), Ember (Intermediate), Smokescreen (Beginner)
NOTE: A bond of less than 40% will cause Pokémon to ignore some commands
We had gone out a few times in the last few days but only stuck to minor encounters, kept it simple and didn’t push ourselves. I was waiting for smokescreen to be learned and proficient enough he could use it consistently, and now that had been reached we will become a little more active around the area again.

One thing that we had found is since the warehouse encounter, the situations we had come across when helping people had changed slightly. The criminals were going around in larger groups, seeming after more strength in numbers, our experience prior with groups but us in good stead, along with the quick succession in the warehouse. They also seemed more afraid of us as well, with at least 3 or 4 goons in the last few nights fleeing when we made ourselves known, the larger groups meant that ‘growl’ didn’t always catch them all, and if it did then someone might have only gotten a glancing hit.
One thing that was a bit odd though is that the police presence has diminished slightly, not sure why that is, if anything the larger groups of criminals should have draw more attention, but the opposite has happened. Not sure if I like the look of this, there might be something else happening behind the scenes, not much I can do about it but the situation weirds me out.
Coming to the end of the week had me nervous, I was about to get another draw and this meant that I would be getting another partner, I was extremely excited but also apprehensive, after all one of the last times I got a message from the ‘Being’ he apologised for the next Pokémon. Now if that wasn’t ominous then I don’t know what is, it could mean something hard to deal with like a ghost type, or something bad tempered or highly territorial, maybe even something that you need to assert your authority over.
I wasn’t sure but I knew that it wasn’t going to be easy, after all he wouldn’t say that otherwise.
Meanwhile
“Coulson how is the progress tracking down our mystery man?”, an eye patch wielding man asked.
“Sorry director we’ve been searching the Brooklyn area for days and there is still nothing, he seems to avoid any police officer and moves around the back streets with an ease that hints at a significant familiarity with them.
All we have is that he wears all black, very generic clothing, nothing stand out. About 6 foot maybe 6 foot 1 tall, hard to tell his figure as the outfit covers it enough so we can’t get a good read on it. But he is fit, shows that he has prior experience in combat situations, so we may be looking at an ex-soldier or law enforcement, he moves fast, far faster than a person his size should move.
The lizard though we have confirmation that he has a few different attacks, the first and most commonly used is a sound wave which incapacitates the recipients, the second is a physical attack focused on his claws which glow in a silvery white colour. The final one is a flame-based attack which can vary in temperature, which we suspect ranges anywhere between about 1100 to 2500 Fahrenheit, with solid control of the chosen one.
With all that we are still having problems trying to track him down or narrow our list of suspects.”
Banging his fist on the table, “Damn it!, he’s drawing attention from different factions, and none of it is good. It’s only a matter of time until we have a gang war on our hands, trying to fill the power vacuum our gang leader in custody left behind.
We need to get him into shield and de-escalate the situation. Work with local law-enforcement and track him down.”
“Yes director Fury.” With that Coulson left the office.
Staring at a picture in his hands with a heated gaze, you could see the aforementioned man and his fire lizard moving through a warehouse seeming empty. “Who are you?!”
